Chapter 12: The Cursed Sword

Link and Zelda made it to the castle in one piece. The Master Sword hummed and glowed blue. Zelda summons her Light Bow, which she used to shoot any monsters that got in their way. Zelda killed lots of monsters.

"You really show no mercy huh? I almost feel bad for them," Link said.

"In battle you fight for your life," Zelda replied.

"What about their lives?" Link teased.

"I...damn!" Zelda said, after not being able to answer that.

"Relax, I'm just teasing you," Link said.

Zelda rolled her eyes and kept going. They arrived in the Sanctum. Link gulped as he saw the beast writhing around in the room. Suddenly Link felt a power surge through him. He looked at his arm. It was glowing green like it was reacting to Ganon's presence. The problem was Link didn't know how to channel his power to fight with it.

"LINK!!!" Zelda screamed.

Link looked up to find a bright pink ball of malice coming right at him. Link blocked it with the Master Sword.

Ganon continued to do this, and Link continued to block the balls. However, this left Zelda an open window to attack. She shot light arrows at Ganon as fast as she could. Eventually the beast was reduced to a small ball of malice. The Divine Beasts weren't even needed. Zelda frowned. That was too easy. Suddenly the ball of malice charged at Link. He blocked it with the Master Sword, only this time the malice consumed it. Link yelped in pain as he was forced to let go when the malice reached the hilt, burning his fingers.

The Master Sword's blade turned blood red. The blue part of the hilt turned white, the green part and the top of the hilt turned orange, and spikes grew on the wings. The gold turned an evil purple. Zelda couldn't believe it. The Master Sword that was supposed to seal the darkness, had been overtaken by darkness. All of the light vanished from inside of it, Zelda could only hear the cries of Fi, who resided inside the sword, as the darkness poisoned all light.

The malice dropped off the sword and formed a man. It took Link a moment to recognize who it was.

'Shoot' Link thought after realising what it was.

"Link! It's a Hollow! Be careful! It looks like...you!" Zelda cried.

"I know! How do I fight it? I don't have a sword!" Link asked.

The Hollow picked up the Master Sword, and started swinging it. Link knew he couldn't outsmart himself, so he tried to think of a plan. Zelda called the champions, while Link fought himself. Link found a frying pan on the floor, he picked it up and began using it.

"You should know, this is the weirdest thing I have ever done!" Link shouted, while blocking blows from the Master Sword.

The champions arrived, and gasped when they saw the Hollow. It had managed to pin Link down to the ground, and was about to strike the Hero down. Link put his hands in front of his face, ready to be struck down. The Hollow started to bring its sword down, when Zelda created a magical chain around the Hollows arm and tried to pull the sword away from Link. However, the Hollow was too strong. It ended up sending Zelda flying halfway across the room and smacking her head against the wall, knocking her unconscious.

"Zelda!" Kamala cried.

She had just arrived with Obi-Wan, Midna, Hilda, Robbie, Purah and Paya.

"Kamala! Get Zelda!" Omega ordered.

"As for the rest of us, let's go fight this Hollow!" Sidon said.

Kamala created crystallised platforms to jump on to get over to Zelda. The rest of them began fending off the Hollow. Link was trapped. Pools of malice surrounded him making it impossible to get away.

Kamala got to Zelda, who had just regained consciousness, and helped her up. Zelda had a small cut on the side of her head, from banging into the wall. The champions had tried to fend the Hollow off, but it was impossible. It was too strong. Zelda suddenly heard a shriek of pain. She looked around to see that the Hollow had created a giant slash that went from Link's shoulder, all the way across to his right side above his stomach.

'Why was this Hollow being so difficult?' Zelda thought.

Then she saw it, there was a Triforce on the back of the Hollows hand. Zelda gulped. That was no Hollow, it was Ganon!

"Guys! It's Ganon! The Hollow is Ganon!" Zelda cried.

The Hollow faced her and smiled before disappearing in a puff of pink smoke.

Zelda crawled over to Link, who was bleeding out. Zelda held Link's hand.

"Don't worry! You'll be okay!" Zelda cried, tears streaming down her face.

"Zelda..." Link started, before coughing and spluttering as blood began to well up in his mouth.

All Zelda could do is watch and cry, as her fiancé suffered.
