Chapter 5: The Spooky Cave

The group had reached Zonai Ruins in Faron. They needed to get to Harker Lake, for that is where the Lush Village is. Not much is known about the Zonai, only that they were a magical civilisation. The other thing was they were traitors to the throne when the first King and Queen of Hyrule were crowned. Rumour has it that the Zonai were the people who created Calamity Ganon. Only a few of the Zonai buildings and temples are left, especially after the Calamity hit. The Calamity destroyed half of the building and temples.

"Let's set up camp here," Link said.

The two had dinner over the campfire.

"Excited to see Florence?" Zelda asked.

Link remembered that Florence had offered some assistance during his travels. She was a kind and generous woman, with a big heart.

"Yes!" Link said.

"I've never met her before," Zelda said. Florence wasn't around when the Calamity first struck. "Is she nice?"

"Very!" Link replied.

Zelda felt a wave of relief wash over her, knowing that she was dealing with a nice person.

"Well, I'm off to bed, goodnight Linky!" Zelda said, cheekily.

"Hey! Goodnight," Link replied.

As Link stood up a wave of nausea hit him. He ran over to a bush and threw up. On an empty stomach, he went to bed.

"Good morning!" Zelda said, shaking Link.

As Link got up he felt worse than he did last night.

"Link?" Zelda asked, seeing the look on Link's face.

"I'm fine," he said.

Travelling on horses was nice, or at least Zelda thought so. However with Link's condition he wasn't enjoying it. Suddenly Link felt his head spinning, and then everything went black.

Zelda's Point of View

Link fell off his horse and went face first on the ground, I tried calling his name, but he didn't answer.

"HELP!!!" I screamed.

I heard voices in the distance, so I kept screaming. Eventually a young woman came over, followed by an old man. The woman was wearing a tiara.

"Hello, I'm Florence, and this is my personal knight Obi-Wan," Florence said with a smile on her face.

She really did seem like a nice woman. Florence's smile turned into a frown when she saw Link.

"Link?" She asked. Florence put on a thinking face. "So if this girl is travelling with Link...no it can't be...she certainly looks like her...but anyone could look like her...the Royal Crest!...That means...your Princess Zelda?!" She asked, both astonished and confused.

"But, she died over 100 years ago!" Obi-Wan said.

"I know you may not believe it but, I'm Princess Zelda," I said. Obi-Wan's and Florence's eyes went wide with astonishment. "Can you help Link?"

"Yes!" Florence said.

3rd Person

"So, you're saying a cave is giving you the creeps?" Zelda asked, now sitting in the palace of Lush Village.

"Yes," Florence replied.

Zelda and Florence had been talking about a cave making strange noises and glowing an eerie green at night.

"It's settled then! Link is feeling better now, so we'll take a look at the cave," Zelda said.

"Thank you," Florence said.

Now in the cave, Link was holding a torch and Zelda had her hand on her sword in case she needed to draw it at any time. Link was feeling much better now, turns out he had food poisoning. They reached the centre of the cave. They could see pink up in the distance, then they saw a horrible sight. A dead corpse was laying in the centre of the room, with Malice consuming it. Suddenly its eyes opened and it turned to face Zelda and Link. Zelda screamed as the ground began to shake fiercely. A hole opened up underneath Zelda and immediately Link caught her, but they were too heavy and the ground broke beneath Link. Suddenly a green hand caught Link's and pulled him away. Zelda slipped from Link's grip and fell into the pit, which wasn't that deep.

All Zelda could hear was, well, nothing really. She looked around, it was pitch black. She had landed on her butt, which had hurt like there was no tomorrow. She was about to get up when she heard Link let out a horrid high-pitched scream. Zelda froze. She had never heard Link scream that high pitched before. And his screams were full of pain. What was that "thing" doing to him? Zelda wondered. Zelda prayed to the goddess that Florence was coming to rescue them. Link screamed again, and Zelda started climbing the wall. She was determined to make it. When she did she was horrified.

Malice was consuming Link's arm, the malice was coming from the corpse.

Link let out another terrifying scream. The green hand pushed the corpse back to the ground, the malice stopped coming and slithered away from Link. Link's arm was burnt and covered in blood. Link hadn't stopped screaming, Zelda could tell he was in unbearable pain. As far as Zelda was concerned the green hand was on their side. The green hand sent green wisps which went into Link's arm. His arm started healing, but it was turning grey, and had weird symbols on it.

Link had stopped screaming, but Zelda soon realised that he had passed out from shock. Zelda looked at Link's arm, it was time to go to Purah (Poo-rah) and Robbie for assistance.
