Chapter IX
Chapter 9: Silent Princess
Zelda sat at the windowsill next to Link's bed, that he was not laying on. It was absolutely miserable outside, as it was raining. Zelda sighed. "What a miserable day."
The Princess watched as the rain cleared up, and once it did, she walked outside and decided to take Storm, her loyal steed, out for a ride. Zelda found a nice sunny patch of grass to sit on. She saw a pretty flower, and hesitantly picked it. It was a Silent Princess, the most rare flower in Hyrule. To her amazement, there were Silent Princess' growing all around her.
Zelda looked at the one she picked and made a wish. She wished that Link was coming for her, but she knew he wasn't. Little did she know, Link was watching from afar, but had decided to leave her be for awhile.
Zelda remembered something from 100 years ago.
...
"Hurry up Link! I'm going to be late!" Zelda said.
"You mean we're going to be late," Link corrected. "Oh whatever! Come on!" Zelda ordered. At this point Zelda and Link were friends, but Zelda was being a little rude, only because she was excited. She was wearing a beautiful outfit. It was a white dress and her hair was braided into a plait. She was beautiful.
At the festival, Zelda sang a special song. The song was a traditional Hylian Song and it was tradition to hear the Princess sing the song. The crowd cheered once she was done. Zelda felt amazing singing a song that she cared about. The song was about love and coming together. She looked at Link, a warm feeling filling her heart.
...
A voice brought Zelda out of her trance. She looked up to see a young woman, about her age, maybe a bit older, looking at her. Zelda noticed the dark blue sky that spread above her. How long was she asleep for? The young woman helped the Princess up.
"Hi! I'm Aryll! Link's sister! I was on my way to Hateno Village as that was where my brother was, or so I was told, when I saw you Princess. I thought someone had knocked you out cold. So I went to help you, only to find you were sleeping," Aryll said, smiling gently.
"Hello...Aryll," Zelda said, dusting herself off.
"Could you take me to Link?" Aryll asked.
"Sure," Zelda replied.
Now that Zelda got a better look at Aryll, she could see how beautiful she was. She was wearing a pink top and skirt, pink sneakers, pink eyeshadow, gold necklaces and white stockings. She had blonde hair, brown eyes, light skin and soft features. You could hardly tell she was Link's sister. They looked nothing alike. Apart from the blonde hair and pointy ears. Zelda thought it was best to return to Hateno anyway. She had to ask Hilda some questions, ask Midna about Link's new magic, and talk to Link.
As soon as Zelda got through the door, she was bombarded by people. Zelda struggled to deal with everyone asking her things at once. Thank god for Link. "Whoa guys! Give the Princess some space! Who's this?"
"Link, this is Aryll, your sister," Zelda said.
"Little brother!" Aryll shouted as she gave Link a bone crushing hug.
"Aryll, Link doesn't remember you," Zelda said, trying to save Link from getting crushed.
"I know," Aryll said sadly. "I didn't want to believe it. Given that it was only 10 months outside of Hyrule," Aryll continued. "I-I hope we can get to know each other more."
"Midna? Any updates?" Zelda asked.
"Oh! Yes! I almost forgot! No updates on what his power is, but I created a wristwatch that's coded to help Link control his magic!" Midna said, handing a watch to Link.
"Ahem, um, I need to get back to Lorule," Hilda said, stepping into the group.
"Lorule? Your kingdom?" Aryll asked.
"Yep, that's the one! However, the only way to get there is the Triforce," Hilda said.
"But the triforce was split into three different pieces!" Zelda cried.
"Yeah, Wisdom, Power and Courage." Link said, after putting the watch on.
"We know where Wisdom and Courage are," Purah said, who everyone forgot was in the room.
"Where?" Aryll asked, confused.
"Zelda and Link!" Purah said, as if it were obvious.
"Wha!!!" Aryll cried.
"Of course! Zelda possesses the blood of the goddess, who is wise. Link possesses the spirit of a hero, who is courageous, and he or she who has the Triforce of Power is powerful," Purah said. "
But I'm not wise," Zelda said.
"Yeah, she's not," Link agreed.
Zelda looked offended before stomping her foot. "Hey! You're not supposed to agree!"
"Who has the triforce of power?" Link asked, completely ignoring what Zelda said.
"I don't know, we'll find that out later, now, I'm hungry! Who's cooking?" Midna asked, rubbing her belly. Everyone pointed to Zelda.
"Wha-I-oh fine!" Zelda said.
She stormed outside and sat down beside the cooking pot outside Link's house. Zelda threw some ingredients in the pot, but only made Dubious Food.
Behind Zelda, someone started laughing.
"First time?" Link asked, sneaking up behind Zelda.
"Yeah," Zelda replied.
"Here let me help you," Link said. Zelda watched in amazement as Link whipped up six amazing (hopefully tasteful) dishes.
After everyone ate, they went to bed. Except Zelda and Link. Finally having some time alone, they decided to go up a hill and watch the starry night sky. After about 2 hours of stargazing, Link and Zelda became hungry.
After eating, Zelda asked Link something unexpected. "Link? Could you cut my hair?"
"Su—WHAT?" Link exclaimed.
"I want it shoulder length," Zelda said.
"W-with w-what?" Link stuttered.
"The Master Sword," Zelda said before Link hesitantly grabbed Zelda's hair and cut it up to her shoulders.
Zelda squealed, and Link shouted. "Oh! It feels so good to feel the wind on my back!" Zelda cried before going back to stargazing.
Later that night, Zelda and Link went to bed.
As Zelda climbed up the stairs, she saw a ghost.
"Princess, she who has the Triforce of Wisdom, I am Fi (Fee), the servant of the Goddess Hylia," the ghost introduced.
"W-where did you come from?" Zelda asked, frightened.
"The Master Sword. I was the one who told you to take Link to the Shrine of Resurrection all those years ago," Fi replied.
"You were that voice, inside the sword," Zelda said.
"Yes," Fi (Fee) agreed. "I serve my master, master Link."
"What?" Zelda asked, confused.
"Link is the wielder of the Master Sword, therefore he is my master," Fi said, while floating closer. "You must find the three Triforce Pieces! If you don't, I'm afraid something terrible will happen to Hyrule. Also, three words: Find new champions."
"But..." Zelda started, but Fi was already gone. Fi's words echoed in Zelda's mind.
"Find new champions"
Time to talk to Purah and Robbie.
