Chapter I
Chapter 1: It's Something Called Love
It had been 5 years since the whole calamity thing. Zelda had been living with Link ever since he rescued her. The Princess decided to go for a stroll in Hateno Village. Zelda popped her earbuds in and pressed play on the Sheikah Slate, the device Purah had allowed her to keep and had even upgraded for her!
Zelda had the music up so loud she didn't hear Link calling her name. He had to tap her on the shoulder to get her attention.
"ZELDA!!!" He screamed.
Zelda turned around to find Link playing with his golden hair.
"Oh! Gosh! Sorry! I didn't hear you!" Zelda exclaimed.
"It's okay Princess, no need to apologise." Link replied.
"Link, we've been through this, you are to call me Zelda, not Princess, we are friends." Zelda said.
"Sorry Pri-Zelda" Link corrected.
"It's okay," Zelda replied. "Now, what is it you want?"
"I was coming to say that lunch is ready," Link said.
"Okay! Coming!" Zelda said, taking her earbuds out and putting the slate away.
Zelda looked into Link's big blue eyes; they were gorgeous. It was true, she was falling for him. Tomorrow they would be leaving Hateno and heading to Kakariko Village, the home of the Sheikah. Zelda decided to go to bed early today.
"Link, I'm heading to bed," she said.
"Okay! Sweet dreams," he replied.
As Zelda went to sleep, she remembered a memory from 101 years ago.
"Oh! I wish they would hurry up!" Revali whined, who was clearly impatient.
"Oh, just be patient," Urbosa replied.
Link and Zelda walked out of the inn.
"Sorry, things took longer than expected," Zelda said.
"It's okay Princess," Daruk replied.
"Let's go to the springs," said Zelda.
"Good! You're taking forever to awaken your power" said Revali.
Link shot him a say-one-more-word-and-I'll-kill-you look.
"Shut it bird brain!" Snapped Urbos. "Remind me why he's on the team?"
"Because he has talent, and as much as we hate it, he's staying." Zelda said, causing Revali to shoot her a shocked-slash-offended look.
Zelda woke up the next morning to find Link saddling up the horses.
"Morning," she said.
Link just nodded. The ride to Kakariko was short but awkwardly quiet.
Link and Zelda walked into Impa's house, and to their surprise, Purah was there too. "Oh! Snap! Couldn't be better timing Princess," Purah said.
"Impa! Purah! Oh, how I've missed you guys!" Zelda exclaimed.
"Hello dear." Impa said.
Impa noticed how Zelda was holding Link's hand.
"Link, why don't you say hello to Paya?" Impa asked.
Link nodded and reluctantly let go of Zelda's hand.
"Alright, spill it!" Impa ordered.
"Huh?" Asked Zelda, confused as to what Impa meant.
"You have feelings for him, don't you?" Purah asked.
"What? No! Oh, gosh no! Well...I...um...you see...oh alright! Fine! He's cute, charming, strong, and his voice is so soft. I feel something, but I don't know what!" Zelda said. She could feel her face going red.
"It's something called love!" Impa said.
"Oh! But what if he doesn't love me?" Zelda asked.
"The only way to know is to confess!" Purah said.
"Oh alright, I'll confess...soon" Zelda said, before walking up to the bedrooms.
