He couldn't breathe,

silence.

He felt his whole world crash down,

& all he could hear was silence,

& the sound of his heart pumping.

Everything was in slow motion,

as his body ran faster than ever before,

tears rushing down his face.

He ran through a set of hospital doors, and his body felt numb,

cold.

Everything around him was moving so slow, and blurry.

He turned down a hallway,

before he saw a few familiar people.

"WHERE IS SHE!?"

He screamed, as the tears rushed down his face. Maya stood up, her face completely wet with painful tears. Lucas couldn't breathe, he felt himself suffocating. Zay and Farkle were standing, staring at Lucas, as they tried to hold back their tears, while Auggie held onto Maya's leg. "Lucas. She was in a car crash." Maya choked out,

"WHERE!?" Lucas shouted again, before he suddenly stopped moving, his heart stopped beating.

A gurney suddenly got pushed down the hall in front of him, four doctors rushing and shouting, and he saw Mr. and Mrs. Matthews, running along with it,

as Riley lied there, with a mask covered over her face, blood everywhere.

"RILEY!" Lucas cried, as he tried running towards her but doctors came  running in and held him back. "Lucas!" Zay shouted, as he tried to help the doctors hold Lucas back.

Riley got pushed into a set of doors,

before she disappeared.

Maya began to cry even harder, until Lucas' body fell weak, and he couldn't breathe. Auggie held onto Maya even tighter. "I have to go to her! I can't leave her!" Lucas tried yelling as his voice cracked, but his was body was getting weaker and weaker from the pain. "She's in emergency care! They have to do immediate surgery! Nobody can be back there but her parents!" The doctor yelled, and finally, Lucas' gave up.

He stood there, tears streaming down his face, the pain engulfing every bone inside his body.

The doctors quickly moved away, before they ran back to the room with Riley.

Lucas stood there,

unable to breathe,

unable to move.

He was felt lifeless,

his light was gone.

Everything was dark,

weak.

And the thought of losing Riley,

he could never bare it.

He can't lose her.

...........

Everything was so quiet,

all anybody could hear was the sounds of monitors beeping, and sometimes someone calling a few names on the hospital speaker.

Farkle was sat asleep in a chair, with Zay next to him in another chair asleep. Maya was sitting down on the couch, staring down at her and Riley's friendship ring on her fingers, as she tried holding back her tears. Topanga was holding Auggie whom was asleep in her arms, while she sat down next to Maya with Cory beside her, arms wrapped around her and Auggie while they were silent.

And as for Lucas,

He was sitting down in a chair, bent over as he fumbled with his mothers necklace in his fingers, staring at while a lonely tear fell from his eye. She has to be okay, he. thought over and over again. I can't lose her.

The dark bags hung deepy underneath his eyes, chest heavy and tired. Most of them have all been awake for more than 24 hours, waiting for the doctor.

Some of them fell asleep for a few hours, but Lucas never fell asleep once, he couldn't bare too.

Everything was so quiet,

everyone's hearts hung up high,

as they waited.

"Lucas." Someone weakly whispered, and Lucas turned his head softly to the side. Topanga looked at him, with tear stained cheeks. She gave him a sad smile.

He pursed his lips, before nodding his head.

"She's strong." Topanga said, barely able to talk due to the exhaustion and pain in her voice. Lucas let a big breath, before he gave Topanga strong smile, something he knew she needed right now.

"She is." He whispered back, trying to hold back his tears. Topanga gave him a sad smile. Topanga knew how much Lucas loved Riley, she knew his heart was breaking.

It became quiet again,

as everyone sat and slept in silence,

until a door suddenly creaked up,

and everyone heard a voice.

"Cory, Topanga Matthews."

A doctor suddenly walked into the waiting room, and they all immediately stood up, except for Zay and Farkle whom were asleep, but Maya quickly awoke them.

Topanga and Cory ran up to the doctor. The doctor let out a big sigh, before he glanced over to Lucas, giving him a sad smile.

Everyone looked at the doctor with pain and hope, waiting for him to speak.

"How I-Is she?" Topanga stuttered, as she began to slightly cry again. The doctor pursed his lips, before he looked down to the floor and back up. "You may go see her. She's asleep, she still hasn't woken up but she's breathing." He said, patting Topanga and Cory's arms to try and comfort them. They quickly ran to Riley's room with Auggie, and Lucas, Zay, Maya and Farkle tried following, but the doctor stopped them.

"Family first, I'm sorry. Once they say it's alright you may go see her." The doctor said, and they all stepped back, except for Lucas, who stood still, quietly. The doctor gave him a light pat on the shoulder, before he walked back to the room with Riley.

Maya sat down, quickly covering her face as she cried, and Farkle held onto her while comforting her.

Zay walked over to Lucas, who was silently staring straight in front of him. "She'll be okay." Zay spoke. Lucas looked down to the necklace in his fingertips.

"Riley.." He whispered.

.............

Maya, Farkle, Zay and Lucas waited for another 30 minutes, and Lucas almost couldn't take it anymore.

Maya sat down in a chair, trying to close her eyes, but failed. Zay was trying to cheer Farkle up but it didn't work.

And Lucas sat silently by himself, over by the doorway, just waiting for the doctor or someone to walk in.

His heart can't take it any longer.

He was about to burst into more tears,

before Topanga and Cory suddenly walked in.

Everyone stood up and quickly ran over by Lucas and Mr. and Mrs. Matthews.

Topanga wiped her tears, as Cory held Auggie in his arms. "You guys can come see her now." Cory whispered, and Lucas felt a sense of relief, yet he was scared at the same time. He can't see the love of his life hurt.

They all quickly walked over to Riley's room, everyone silently walked into the room, Lucas the last one to go in.

Maya gasped, holding her hand over her mouth at the sight of her best friend.

A heart monitor was beeping, as Riley lied down on the hospital bed, blankets covered over her body, a mask covered across her face. She had a bruised eye, and a scrap against her forehead, and some cuts down her arm. But she was breathing, her chest was rising up and down.

Lucas felt the tears build up, as he stared at the person he loved more than anything. He just broke down.

"We did surgery on her leg, she didn't break it but it was gashed open badly. She's breathing well, but she hasn't woken up yet. We want to check her head and brain to make sure she isn't in a coma, or that she has a concussion. She responded well to treatments, but she won't wake up." The doctor explained, as everyone stared at the unconscious and wounded Riley. "I'll give you guys some time to visit." The doctor spoke, before he walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.

More tears fell from Lucas' eyes, and he couldn't move. He felt like he couldn't breath again.

Maya embraced Topanga's arms, before they walked over to Riley with Cory and Auggie. Auggie stood up on a chair, as he stared down at his sister. "Please wake up." He whispered, and Cory held onto him, trying not to cry. Maya grabbed Riley's hand that was lying there, with IV's and strings going into her wrist.

"You're strong, you're my best friend. You can do this." Maya smiled, before she caressed her best friends hair lightly.

Farkle and Zay were standing on the other side of Riley, while Lucas stood in front, still not able to move.

Lucas couldn't find himself to say anything for awhile. He was in too much pain to bare.

After a few hours of visiting, Riley still hasn't woken up. It's been 48 hours. Maya, Farkle, and Zay decided to head back to the waiting room to get some rest. They all said goodbye to Riley before they walked out, as Lucas sat in a chair by the doorway, staring at Riley, not taking his eyes off of her.

Cory bent down a placed a light kiss on his daughter forehead, before he stepped back with Topanga, and they began to head out the door with Auggie.

Lucas stood up, but Topanga stopped him, as Cory and Auggie walked out. Topanga gave him a light smile.

"I think you need some alone time with her." She whispered, before she squeezed his arm. Lucas looked at her with glossy eyes, and she set her hand to his cheek softly, before smiling, and walking out as she shut the door behind her.

They all went and sat down at the waiting room, Maya sat next to Cory and Topanga, with Auggie in her lap.

Maya stared down at the floor.

"She'll come back." Maya whispered, and Cory rubbed her arm. "Lucas is there with her now." Cory spoke. Maya looked over to him, before she pursed her lips.

"There's no doubt that she won't come back to him. She'll always find a way to him, no matter what." Maya whispered, knowing that Lucas would be the only one to bring her back.

Topanga smiled.

"They're in love." She whispered, and Cory tensed up a bit, about to say something but didn't considering the situation. Maya smiled.

"He challenges her, surprises her. Makes her question her own beliefs, he's changed her. But she's changed him too. It's the simple, yet undeniable power of human love. She'll come back." Maya spoke, and Topanga held onto her husbands hand tightly, before smiling.

Meanwhile,

Lucas stopped breathing once the door shut.

He finally looked over to Riley, tears falling from his eyes.

He walked over, and pulled up a chair next to her.

His grabbed her hand, setting a light kiss to it, before he began to quietly cry.

Her eyes were shut so lightly, her hair lying down to her sides. She was so quiet. All he could hear was the sound of his heart beating, and the heart monitor, that wasn't beeping like it should be. Her heartbeat was unsteady, which worried him.

He held tightly onto her hand, before he set his forehead to it.

"Please come back to me."

He whispered.

........

Hour's went by, it became night once more, and Lucas was lying with Riley in the bed, arms wrapped gently around her waist, as he tried to sleep, but failed. He hasn't left the room once since earlier.

Another hour went by, Topanga and Cory checked in, by she still hasn't woken up.

Lucas switched positions on and off for awhile, sometimes lying with her, sometimes sitting down in a chair a bit away to give her some space, others sitting down next to her holding her hand.

It was 11pm at night, and Lucas was sitting down in a chair, next to Riley, holding her hand tight.

He couldn't hold it in any longer,

He began to cry again.

"R-Riley." He whispered, as he looked up to his love. He laced his fingers through hers, waiting for her to move, or to say something.

"You can't leave me. Stay with me." He pleaded, holding onto her tighter as he cried. It was so quiet, before he looked up.

"God, please. B-Bring her back to me, please let her be okay. You already took my parents, please don't take my Riley." He cried, as he set Riley's embraced hand to his forehead. He lightly kissed it, before he was quiet.

"She's my everything."

He looked back up to Riley, who was peacefully sleeping. He breathed in slowly.

"Listen to my voice.. I'm here." He whispered, as he caressed his hand against her arm, like the first day they met. He let another tear fall. He held tighter onto her hand.

"I promise to be the best for you, I promise to be the good. I promise to always be here for you, I'll never leave. I want to grow old with you, I want to love you for the rest of eternity. You are by far the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, so you have to promise that you won't leave me." He spoke so softly, before he stood up.

He looked down to her, as he lightly cried some more.

He held one of her hands tightly, while his other hand caressed her cheek softly, as he leaned over to her.

"Please come back to me." He cried, stroking her cheek before he began to bend down to her.

"I love you,  I love you, I love you." He spoke in a whisper with so much love in his tone, before he set a soft kiss to her forehead gently, as he closed his eyes, and one last tear fell.

He let go of her hand, before he slightly backed away, looking at her once more,

before the heart monitor started beeping faster.

Lucas' heart stopped beating for a moment, before he realized that it her heart was beating faster suddenly.

"Doctor's!" Lucas shouted loudly, as he rushed out the room to get the nurses and doctors. Topanga and Cory and everyone else were immediately alarmed. Doctors came rushing down the hall as they ran into the room along with Mr. and Mrs. Matthews.

Lucas, Maya, Zay, and Farkle tried pushing in, but the doctors wouldn't let them in.

They all heard shouts, and Maya held her hand over her mouth. They couldn't see anything, there were too many doctors and they were blocking the doorway, until one doctor suddenly turned around to them.

Lucas stared at the nurse with glossy eyes, waiting for something.

The nurses eye's were wide.

"She's awake."

She said, before smiling.
