The Truth
The date was going exceedingly well. The food was better than you thought, the view was amazing, and then their was the kiss, well kisses. You couldn't imagine a better date. That was until.. "[Y/N].. I HAVE SOMETHING I NEED TO TELL YOU."
"Alright? What do you need to tell me?"
"THE TRUTH. I want to be honest.." He was dead serious right now. It made you feel a bit curious.. and nervous. "I.. was there when you were mugged, the night before we met. I was their when you got hurt too, outside your house." And now you were confused. "You were? But.. I never saw you.. unless.. but that- they're a myth? But so were monsters?" You looked to Papyrus for answers. His eyes were lit orange.. just like the skeleton wolf thing. "So.. you're.. a werewolf?" His eyes dimmed back to normal. "Half actually. Our father was the last skeleton, and our mother, as far as Sans had told me, was the last werewolf." You went silent, processing all this. Papyrus started the age old tick of toying with his gloves. "I- I'm sorry I never told you before now.. Sans said that nobody can know for our safety. I just- I can't lie to you! I-" You stopped him with a kiss. "Relax. You're not in any trouble. It's.. alot, sure, but I'm glad you told me."
♧♧♧
"So how does it really work? All myths and legends aside. Do you really need to change on the full moon or.. sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable.." You were beyond curious, but Papyrus' feelings came first. You were fairly certain that was dating 101. "NOT AT ALL! YOU'RE TAKING THIS BETTER THAN I EXPECTED, SO ASK AWAY!" He seemed utterly relieved and happy now, like a weight had been taken off his shoulders. "What were you expecting?"
"UH.. I DON'T REALLY KNOW. SANS WAS VAGUE SO UH.. bad science stuff involving cages and needles?" You hugged poor Papy close. "Never. I won't ever!" He nuzzled into the crook of your neck, a rumble escaping him. "All your weirdness makes sense now." You teased. "I'm not weird, I'm unique. That's what Sans says." Papyrus mumbled. "Sans is right. You are the most unique and amazing individual ever." He rumbled again, lifting his face from you. "To answer your first question, we can change whenever, but our magic reacts the the full moon for whatever reason, so we do have to change then as well." He explained. "Ok." You nodded along, curious as to the reasoning, but he didn't seem to know either. "Er.. this might sound weird, and you can definitely say no, but can I watch you.. transform?" Papyrus shrugged. "I DON'T SEE WHY NOT!"
♧♧♧
Papyrus stood a distance from you, mentally preparing himself, you supposed. He was revealing his biggest secret to you, after all. "READY?" You nodded from the blanket, more questions you hadn't thought of before now, swarming your head. Does it hurt? Was he hurting himself now by showing you? Maybe you shouldn't see if it hurts him. But it was to late. He was already starting. He grunted and hunched down onto all fours. His gloves and boots disappeared through what you could only assume was magic as he grew claws and his teeth sharpened. His head lowered and his back arched as he changed, his face broadening into a muzzle and body expanding in size. He grew a tail, and many of his bones had shifted to fit his new form, though you hadn't heard a sound. Change complete, he shook himself and stared at you expectantly. "Woah.."
♧♧♧
The wonder and concern was overwhelming as you got up and approached him. "It didn't hurt, did it?" He shook his skull immediately. Now that you knew that, the concern disapated for the time being. "Can I touch you?" Papyrus huffed, rolling his orange eyelights and nuzzling his skull into you. You took that as a yes and wrapped your arms around him. "Sorry for scaring you at my house that night." He whimpered, most likely apologizing for accidentally harming you that night. You couldn't be sure though. "I do have one more question, though they can wait, if you want. He pulled away, and the process reversed itself. Just like that he was a skeleton man again. "ASK AWAY."
"Is it true that werewolves can turn people into werewolves?" Papyrus contemplated this. "To.. an extent. Only alpha type werewolves can turn humans into werewolves."
"Alpha type?" There were different types? "Come. Sit. I will explain what I can. Sans knows more than I do."
♧♧♧
Papyrus started as soon as you sat down. "There are five different werewolf types. Alpha types are those born to lead. They have characteristics of the other four types and lead the pack. Only they have the magic to change humans into werewolves. Only the first born child of an alpha is an alpha. Sans is an alpha type." Wait wha- "Beta types are similar to alpha types. They usually only hold two of the others types characteristics, and advise, not lead. Just like alpha types, the first born child of a beta type is a beta. Fighter types fight for the pack. They are usually shorter, with lots of bulk. Slower, but stronger. Tracker types hunt for the pack. They have the strongest senses of all werewolf types. They are built tall and lean-"
"So you're a tracker type?"
"Yes! I am!" He beamed then continued. "The last type are scouter types. The smallest of our species, they scout ahead for enemies or territory. They are the quietest on their paws too." Papyrus concluded. "Wow. That's pretty cool, Pap. I've gotta a tracker werewolf hybrid for a boyfriend." Papyrus blushed. "Y-yeah. Indeed."
