Hiccup's pov

I watched Loki sleep by the firepit in relative pain. I started cooking up some fish for when he woke up. Heather came in with Fishlegs holding a large sack over her shoulder.

"Hiccup, I finished Loki's clothing with the help of Astrid and Fishlegs."

"Thank you. I'll help him get changed when he wakes up. I don't want to disturb him right now."

"Yeah. Poor thing. That much lightning in such a tiny body. If he wasn't part dragon, I don't think he would've survived."

"Same here. Snout and Gothi will be getting here soon. I hope my father doesn't show up."

"Why?"

"I wanted to introduce him to Loki when he was healthy. Loki is something we've never seen before. If Dad gets interested he might end up unintentionally hurting himself or Loki."

"I understand."

Loki's pov

I woke up to voices and saw Heather talking to Hiccup. I tried to walk over to him, but I fell back down. I tried to fly over to him, but that was worse. I whimpered and made small chirps to get their attention. Shear rushed over and curled around me. She took a fish from Hiccup and gave it to me. I ate it quickly, getting blood on my face, and asked her for another. She gave me another fish and gave me a bath after I ate. I sat patiently and allowed her to carry me by my neck.

Unlike humans and their scrawny necks, my neck has thicker skin and scales so dragons could pick me up like that. She carried me over to Hiccup and sat me on the table. Heath patted my head and left. Hiccup took the shirt off me and put a blue shirt on me with a pair of brown pants. I almost bit him when he pushed my injured wing through the hole in the shirt.

"There you go. Let me change those bandages."

Hiccup removed the pinkish cloth from my foot and wing. The Snot man and an old lady with a large stink walked in. Well Snot man almost broke the door down with how fast he ran in and he set the old lady down. Hook had him head poking through one of the windows looking worried.

"Loki! Are you okay? I saw what happened and I tried to help but Toothless and Hiccup got there before me!"

"I'm okay Mr. Hookfang. My wing and foot hurts a lot though and I lost the fish bag. I'm sorry."

"Don't worry about that. Your life is more important than a bunch of fish."

I went to crawl to Hook but the old lady stopped me. She took off the bandages and examined my dragon parts with lots of pokes from her stick. She held out a fish and I started drooling. It was a dark blue fish with red fins! That's my favorite! I reached out to grab it but she smacked my hand with her stick. She held the fish out again and this time I waited while rubbing my red hand. She smiled at me and gave me the fish.

I ate the fish and she placed a large bowl of the same fish in front of me. I dove forward but she hit my head with her stick and I jumped back. She waved me closer and held out her hand as if to say wait. I did so, staring at the fish. She walked behind me and allowed me to start eating. I could feel her fiddling with my wing and immediately stopped. I jumped over the table and through the window next to Hook's head. I ran on all three uninjured limbs into a dense tree area.

I tripped over a rock and stumbled into a Deadly Nadder.

"Hey, watch where your... Loki?"

"Natter!"

She sat down and I curled up under her.

"Dear one, what happened to you?"

"I was catching fish and a zappy sea dragon attacked me."

"Oh poor thing."

Natter regurgitated a fish for me and she gave me a small bath as I ate. Hiccup and Astrid and the old lady showed up, putting Natter on the defensive. She quickly bit my neck and flew off to her new den. It was close to the ground with no eggs but plenty of spines. She placed me between her talons.

"Sweet Loki. Was that human man the same who freed us from the arena?"

"Yes. His name is Hiccup and the Nightfury is Toothless."

"We're back."

Me and Natter lifted our heads to see Night and Razor entering the cave with fish in their mouths. I crawled over to them and jumped around them.

"Night! Razor! It's so good to see you again!"

"Little Loki. Tis wonderful to see you once more. Whatever happened to your little foot and wing?"

They dropped the fish and we all ate while Natter recounted the story I told her. Natter gave me another bath as I was covered in blood. I yawned and curled up under Night's wings like old times.

Natter's pov

Loki finally went to sleep and I could smell the humans nearing the cave. I took Loki from Night and encased him in my wings to protect him. The human who saved us, a blond female who helped him, and an older, smaller human showed up at the entrance.

"Astrid, these dragons are from the arena."

"So?"

"They lived with Loki for presumably his whole life. They're his family."

I relaxed a bit as Loki woke up at the human's conversation. His head poked out of my wings and watched them. He was still ever the curious rascal. He reminds me of my own babes before I was taken from my home. No doubt they've been killed or grew into fine dragons by now. I nuzzled Loki's head.

"Loki, you must go with the humans."

"Why Natter, I don't want to leave you again."

I felt my heart shred apart at the panicked and scared face he showed me.

"Natter, you Night and Razor can come with me! These humans love dragons and they have lots of fish and meat! And warm places to nap and fun places to fly around!"

"We'll come Loki."

I snapped my head toward Razor and she just nodded at me.

"What better way to stay with him and keep him safe Natter?"

"I concur. Tis the best solution."

"Fine, we'll come with Little Loki."

He nuzzled me and jumped around poorly by Razor and Night's feet.

Loki's pov

They're coming with me! I was so excited! Razor shooed the humans out of the cave and Natter picked me up by my tail. I hung upside down as she and Night left the cave. I wiggled until she huffed and threw me in the air, scaring the humans. Razor caught me with her tail and dropped me gently on Natter's back. I scratched her head and pointed in the direction of the human's home.

Natter led the flight back with Razor on her left and Night on her right and the humans behind us. Natter stopped flying and landed in front of the main hut. I jumped off of Natter and Hiccup caught me before I hit the ground.

"Loki, let Gothi help your wing and foot and you can have as much fish as you can eat."

I lit up and practically tripped while crawling over to the old lady. She spread a paste thing over my wing and ankle before wrapping them in white cloth. It hurt a lot but the giant bowl of fish she gave me was well worth it. I pushed it over to Natter and the others and we ate a good meal together for the first time in forever.

My face and hand and shirt were covered in blood from the fish and Natter started cleaning me again.

"Natter! I already had a bath today!"

"Well if you don't want multiple baths a day, stop being so messy with your food."

I huffed as she gave me another bath. Afterward, she lifted me by my tail and carried me to a large wooden and cloth dome. After Night and Razor got in, she blocked the entrance with her spines.

The next morning, I snuck out of Natter's hold and tried to walk to the main hut. I limped there but as I was eating a fat fish, a loud giant human burst through the door. I had the fish halfway in my mouth as he started shouting.

"Hiccup, Snotlout doesn't hurry for anything. So why did he rush around Berk and leave with Gothi; and boy you better tell me the truth."

He saw me and froze. We stared at each other until a terror flew next to me and stole my fish. He opened his mouth, but I grabbed another fish and raced out the door. My palms had tiny rocks pressed into them, but I kept running. I didn't stop until I was under Night's wings. In my hurry; I ended up waking them up.

The loud man ran in and dodged a warning spine from Natter. I gave my fish to Night, but he nudged it back to me. I ate it slowly as Razor and Natter drove the man out of the hut. Night let me out and I sighed in relief. I could hear little knocks on the door before Hiccup poked his head in.

"Loki, I'm sorry about that. That was my father. Would you like to help with a few tasks?"

I looked up at Natter and she nodded. I got to my feet and slowly limped over to Hiccup. I fell forward a bit and he lifted me into his arms. I smiled at him as he carried me out. He set me down next to Toothless, the giant man stood next to a large horned dragon.

"Okay now, Loki. i'm going to teach you to speak better in human tongue. Okay?"

"Okay Hiccup!"

"This is my father, Stoic and his dragon, Skullcrusher."

"Stooic?"

"Close, try again. Stoic."

"Stoic?"

"Yes, good job. Let's try some more words."

For they next two hours I learned how to say more words in human tongue.

"Hiccup, lunchtime is...fishes?"

"Yup, I know you like fish."

I climbed up Hiccup and sat on his shoulders as he took me into the main hut. I jumped off him and glided onto to the ground. My ears flicked to where the large man was and I watched him sit across from me. I broke my stare when Hiccup set a bowl of green stuff in front of me. I stared at that instead. I poked it and ate a small piece. I sheepishly nodded my head to Hiccup and when he turned to get the fish, I spat it out and dumped it under the table. He walked over with a slab with three fish and an eel! I threw the eel at him and ate two of the fish. I pushed the slab to the loud man with the last fish.

"Food is important. Eat to grow big and strong. You already big though."

I was happy when he ate the fish and complemented Hiccup on his cooking.

"Hiccup! We have a problem!"

I turned to look at Astrid and fell off the chair as the island shook. I whimpered and ran outside, ignoring the pain in my foot. I tried to run into the dome where Natter, Razor, and Night were but they were gone! I saw a human wearing the same clothing as the humans at the arena. I hunkered down and started growling at him. He turned and saw me and laughed.

"Nice to see ya again, Freak."

He ran at me and I flew over him. The pain in my wing was starting to get unbearable. I fell behind him and shot fire at him. He somehow blocked my flame with a strange metal shield. I got on all fours and ran at him. I managed to scratch up his face really bad before he slammed the metal thing into my head.
