chapter 33

After a long and restful sleep the sorceress woke first. she looked around the woods as the sun peeked through the tree limbs. The bright multi colored foliage gave her a sense of peace a tranquility only the quiet forest could bring as the rest of the worlds were still she just embraced it. She was sure it was going to be a wonderful day, she just had a gut feeling about it. She watched over her friends as they slept. She loved how the dragon's tail wagged like that of a small pup when she was in a deep sleep, it was quite entertaining. As she stared at the dragon, thinking of how much she had missed Kadrid. She missed her just as much as her new found love. Her thoughts began to drift over to Salem, her warlock. He was indeed a great person as well as a powerful warlock vampire and her rescuer. As soon as she began to concentrate her thoughts on him, he had begun to stir slightly. That was a little out of the ordinary. She just watched as he woke stretched himself out and then finally sat up.

When he scanned the forest , he looked to see Kadrid still snoring in a deep sleep and quickly turned to see Pandora had already gotten up for the day.

"Good morning, have you been up very long?"

"Not that long, just watching the dragon sleep." She told him.

"Be careful, If you let her she'll make that an all day event."

Pandora responded with a soft giggle. He really missed hearing it.

"Let her sleep, the poor thing has earned it." Pandora suggested.

"It would be nice to have a few minutes to wake, especially with you here." He replied.

"Thank you, that's very sweet of you." Pandora replied blushing just slightly.

Then the hybrid warlock heard a very familar sound. He could hear his young dragon stretching like a house cat. He gave her a moment to stretch and open her eyes, readjusting to the light of day. Once she had woken a little and checked her surroundings, she saw the warlock and the sorceress a few feet away. She walked over to greet them with a half awake nod.

"Hey there, you must have slept well." Salem commented to his faithful little dragon.

"I always sleep well whenever i fly." She pointed out to him.

"Good, I'm sure you will want to do plenty of flying today as well?" He asked, knowing her answer long before she spoke it.

"Yes, I do love a good flight through the clouds." Kadrid reminded him.

"I figured that much." The warlock replied.

"Are the two of you ready to continue?" She asked in a soft, cheery tone.

"Yes, I think we are, but I believe it would be best if we went a little further uphill. No sense to have you running into the trees." He told her.

"That sounds fine with me. Let's get moving. I'd love to get home as soon as we can." Kadrid replied.

The three of them all got moving, quickly making it up a very steep hill. Pandora climbed onto the dragon first, then the warlock. As soon as they were ready to go, the dragon took off across the skies. She flew high across the widespread forest, diving into the clouds and watching a few of the larger birds fly along side her. She loved it in the air. She flew much faster than she had ever attempted before. She couldn't wait to get home and splash around in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall near their home. She couldn't wait to curl up near the fireplace, her favorite napping corner. She had been day dreaming about getting back home so much that she hadn't noticed how low to the ground she had been. Not until crash landing into a massive rock wall.

Salem and Pandora had been thrown from the dragon due to the impact, but only by a few feet. The speed Kadrid had been going had been fast enough that the collision had knocked her out. The warlock got up slowly and brushed himself off. He looked around and then he saw the dragon. He was a little upset with her for crash landing the way she did. It was reckless and very dangerous. He stood a moment and noticed she didn't get up right away.

"Kadrid, get up." He spoke in a very firm tone, trying to hold back his anger.

The dragon didn't move.
