chapter 15
Pandora sat there chained to the underground cave. She was not sure what to do at this point so she curled into a semi fetal position facing the wall. She was frightened, her soul filled with panic. A thousand questions entered her mind all at once, it was maddening. She had no idea when or how she got here. She assumed she had been kidnapped but why? She didn't know who this guy was that kidnapped her, or why he was holding her prisoner. Not knowing frightened her far more than anything else. She tried to remain still and silent, the best course of action for the time being.
She remained quiet, almost as if she were meditating. She did whatever she could to avoid eye contact with her captor. She just kept on staring at the dreary looking elephant gray walls of the cave she was trapped in. She didn't even know where they were, how far from her home or why she was there. Prior to the current situation she had never laid eyes on this guy before. She hadn't the slightest notion as to who he was, or why he took her.
She just wanted to get out of this place and go home. She didn't know if this fellow had a reason for kidnapping her or if he was just some psycho on a war path. For all she knew he could be preparing for a random killing spree. All of these horrible possibilities were scaring the crap out of her. She tried not to let it show. Pandora remained still and silent, wanting to first find out where the heck she was before coming up with any plans for escape. She needed to just bide her time. The best plan was to be overly nice to her captor so he will trust her and let his guard down just a bit. That way he would talk and eventually tell her what she needed to know. There didn't seem to be any other choice in the matter.
Pandora lifted her head and peeked out of the corner of her eye only to see if he was there. She slowly scanned the cave and there was no sign of him. Good she thought, it gave her more time to think. She felt woozy and a little dioriented but she could find no logic behind it. All she could do to help would be to false befriend her kidnapper and hope it works in her favor. She was not a deceptive person, but in this predicament she thought it would be okay. She didn't know who he was or if he would hunt her down, so the best thing for now would be to try not to anger him in anyway.
over three hours had passed since he last came to check on his prisoner. He was sure that she couldn't escape but he knew to never assume, make sure. Braydin crept softly into the room, no need to torment her with theatrics. Braydin wasn't after her, she was simply his bait. He was wicked and ruthless at times he was half demon, but he didn't always use the demonic powers unless need be. He would hurt or kill mortal and magical creatures when he had to . Granted he did enjoy the sport of it. He looked at his prisoner and nodded for just a moment, then sat down a few feet from her.
"Would you like something to eat?" He asked softly, as if they were having a picnic.
"You're going to feed me?" Pandora stumbled out the words.
"Yes, just so you know i don't want to kill you otherwise i would have done so by now." He told her in firm tone, almost growling the words.
She looked at him first in fear and then softened her gaze.
"What's your name?" She asked.
"Braydin." He replied.
"I'm pandora and yes i'd like something to eat, thank you." She replied to him.
"I'll be right back." Braydin excused himself.
Pandora just shook her head in confusion, he seemed like a nice and considerate guy especially for a kidnapper. He looked average yet attractive with reddish brown hair and dark mysterious eyes. He was tall and very muscular. She wondered if maybe it was a misunderstanding and he was a real nice guy? That couldn't be it. He was still her kidnapper no matter how charming he seemed. Was it all an act to keep her from trying to escape? What did he want from her? That question bothered her more than anything else about the entire ordeal. Why did he do it? She didn't have time to ponder over an answer to that question before her captor had returned.
"I didn't know what you would like so i brought a few things." Braydin told her in a sweet tone.
She looked and he had brought her a cup of something like coffee, breads, cheese and a little fruit. She was quite impressed with the tray of food.
"Thank you, I mean it. All of it looks really good." She exclaimed with gratitude.
He smiled, then slid the tray in front of his prisoner and watched as she consumed everything that was in front of her.
