chapter 10 Trouble Brewing
Kadrid made it home filled with panic and out of breath. She landed a little harder than normal this time, almost hurting herself on one of the immense boulders near the tower. She inhaled deeply to try and slow her breathing, then she went in to find the warlock sitting there having coffee, half awake.
"Salem, something's really wrong." The dragon spoke eyes wide with fear.
"What's wrong?" He asked in a half woken mumble.
"Pandora, she wasn't there when I went to get her for the potion lesson. That's not like her." Kadrid told him with her serious face.
"Breathe dragon.there could very well be a logical reason." Salem told her in a soothing tone.
"Like what?" Kadrid growled as she spoke, out of fear and worry.
"Well perhaps there was a family issue and she had to leave right away?" Salem suggested, hoping to calm her down a notch. He was worried too but couldn't let her see it.
"Do you really think so?" Kadrid asked with a hopeful look in her eyes.
"I'm pretty sure it's something like that. Now you should rest up so in a few days you can check on her again. You'll see that i'm right." He explained stroking her left ear.
"You win warlock, this time. I'm still worried about our sorceress."
"I know you are, it's because you're a good friend. Everything will be fine." Salem told her.
