*Extreme Trigger Warning*
"Wei Ge is looking super daper tonight." With a wink, Miron pushed Xian against the wall in a secluded corner of the club. Music was thumping and he could recognise Tokyo Drift playing around them.
Miron was dressed in black tunic, shimmering pant and streaks of glitter adorned around his cheeks.
As for himself, Xian had worn a deep red V neck t-shirt and skin fitting pants. He was uncomfortable wearing such tight pants; but did not have the heart to deny Miron's sweet request.
"Wei Ge..." Closing in, Miron did not leave an inch of gap between them; "Miron wants to eat Wei Ge."
Xian blushed inwardly. He wasn't a prude, but in front of Miron's seductive words, he was always putty.
"Mi-" silencing Xian with a finger on lips, Miron leaned forward and licked his jaw.
"Miron is thirsty. Miron will go and get some drinks for his Wei Ge."
With a wink he backed off and it was only when the younger man was away did Xian heave out his breath.
'That naughty; naughty boy!'
As the evening wore off and more drinks poured in, Xian was almost having a good hangover. They were on the dancefloor when he saw a stranger's hands wrapping around Miron's waist. He was about to push those hands away, when he saw Miron turn and give the man holding him a huge smile.
Another hand caressed Xian's ass and this gesture shocked him to the core. He turned to wade them off when the owner of those hands leaned down and kissed his lips.
'What the fuck!' Were the thoughts running through Xian's head.
He heard a squeal and realised Miron was hugging this guy too.
'Who are these people?' Xian wanted to ask and before he could, the man who kissed him, dragged him away from the dancefloor. Xian wanted to resist but saw Miron and the other man following their suit.
Taking a seat in a corner booth, Miron made necessary introductions.
"Wei Ge! This is Edik and Edmon. They are my teammates. Like me; they too are aspiring to become professionals. When they got to know our plan for clubbing, these two wanted to join. I hope you don't mind?"
Xian wanted to roar out his disappointment. He did not like them. They were rude and Xian felt humiliated that he was kissed by a random stranger and yet, Miron did not even seem to acknowledge that fact.
'Was this how teammates behaved? Is this normal?' Xian wanted to ask. 'JC and I are very close, but never have we ever kissed; or even seen eachother naked once we reached puberty. Something's are best left to privacy.'
'If Miron wants his teammates to stay, they can.'
Though Xian did not miss the spark in Edik's eyes, he chose to ignore them.
He shouldn't have. He would come to regret that much later.
Drinks poured in and Xian was stuffed with varied kinds of concoctions. At one stage, he was almost about to blackout and had no knowledge what was happening around. All he could remember was one of them carrying him into a room and his back hitting the comforter.
Rest was all distorted...
"What do you want us to do?"
Xian could not make out whose voice was that.
"I want him."
'...'
"Let's strip him naked!"
'...'
Who?
"Miron, sweetheart. We won't be caught?"
'Miron? What is happening?' Xian wanted to ask.
"No we won't! He has been acting so prim and proper ever since their professional team won the nationals last year. This man had the audacity to even teach me how to score. Fuck him!
"Call this us being even. He once yelled at me when I was a newcomer. Now, we will avenge our victory against him. Dating this bastard has been tough on me."
Xian felt as sharp slap on his cheek and cried out in pain. 'What's happening?'
"He thought I loved him! Fuck! The other day he was buying me PlayStation and did not even realise when we were on call, I was fucking a wh*re."
'...'
"Now I can fuck him. Not only me, but once I'm done, you guys can have your share too."
"Can we call Fred and Lenya? Those guys hated this guy's team's forward. What's his name?"
"JC?"
'...'
No! Not JC. Stay away from him!
Why am I not able to move?
"More the merrier."
Laughter was all Xian could remember. After a chill piercing pain, he lost all consciousness.
With a huge gasp Xian woke up. He found himself in a strange room and that triggered his pain. Screaming at the top of his voice, he did not even realise a pair of warm arms had embraced him.
No!
Don't touch!
Bile. Xian could only feel bile raising. He needed to throw up.
Racing into the washroom, he puked out last night's dinner. He didn't remember having any, but whatever it was, there was nothing inside him now. Taking few deep precious breaths, when he felt a cool cloth against his skin; it made Xian jump and move away.
"It's alright. It's just me." And it was. When he got back his bearings, Xian gazed at the concern eyes of Azure.
It was Azure.
Not those rascals back in that lodge. No. He was safe here.
Raising his palms, Xian cupped Azure's face. As if to reassure himself that this was not his nightmare.
Yes. This wasn't.
He was strong. He had to be.
"I... am alright. Thank you."
"..."
Giving the other man a weak smile, Xian got up from his crouched position.
"I need to be alone for sometime. I'll meet you all for breakfast."
Jun knew that the man in front of him was obviously not alright. But he wanted to respect Xian's wishes and left him there.
Jun still wasn't sure what had happened with Xian; but whatever it was, the ordeal must have been terrifying. He had to get to the roots of Xian's problem.
That would be the only way to understand his aggressiveness and help him back on track.
"That was too slow Xian! What the fuck are you doing?"
Jun's voice irked him. Never before had someone questioned the way he played. JC and Jun both were forwards and playing against him.
"What do you mean?" Xian had enough of Jun's taunts. He was about to throw his stick when JC raised his voice to caution him.
"Xian!"
Taking few deep breaths, Xian assumed his position back in front of the net and this time the puck was passed between the two forwards.
'Who is going to hit?'
'Stay calm Xian! They're playing you!'
'Calm!'
Xian saw his opening and knew instantly Jun would be scoring. He left the goalpost to make a save, but to his dismay, Jun hit the puck behind him and JC came forward to score.
'Not happening!' Xian cheered in his mind. With full agression he skated forward, leaving the post behind, almost reaching to divert the puck, when Jun's quick reflexes made a save and hit the goal.
The buzzer lit with sign of victory; and even though it was a happy moment for JC and Jun, the latter glared at Xian while former was disappointed.
Fuck!
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Jun skated to where Xian was and yelled. His anger could be felt in every corners of the rink. "This is not the first time you came across such play! You have encountered this kind innumerable times before. Then why aren't you able to make such a simple save? Even kids know better!"
"Watch your words Jun! I made a mistake. So what?"
If before Jun was angry, hearing this, his wrath would have caused an avalanche.
"Are fucking kidding me? So what? A mistake?" Jun skated even more closer to Xian and contempt was clear in his eyes. "Can you honestly tell me that when you loose a match, you can stand there and with audacity tell your teammates it's just a mistake?"
Xian knew Jun was right. But his pride was hurt. He was hurt. He was...
"Answer me!"
That was the last straw for Xian. Standing skate to skate, Xian bellowed, "Why do you care? Didn't you also leave your teammates behind without a word?"
"Xian..." JC skated to where they were and tried to placate the matter.
"No. Let him. Tell me what you want to spit out Xian!"
"I thank you for tutoring me." There was nothing sincere about Xian's words. It was pure venom. "But don't think you know everything! You don't! You ran away from your teammates and built a place where you could escape. Not everyone is as lucky as you Jun. Not everyone can escape!"
Xian's words pierced Jun's heart.
"Fuck you and your words Jun. I atleast know my teammates and their wants. I will take responsibility if I loose. Unlike you, who simply chose to run away. Pathetic!"
Xian's words completely shattered Jun's heart.
"Xi-" gesturing JC to stop, Jun took a step back and smiled sadly. "Yes, I ran away. Yes, I am a coward. But there is one thing you don't know Xian."
Taking another step back, he couldn't stop his eyes welling up.
"I would trade everything dear to me to have what you have. To live your life. To just wear my skates once again and play one more game. Does not matter where. You have his profound way of playing the game. You're at the peak of your youth. You are rather living the life of what many people just dream off.
"A national player. A player who has the potential to be scouted for NHL. You are what people aspire to be. And yet, here Wei Wuxian is ready to just say sorry. How pathetic is that!"
Turning away, Jun was about to leave when he had a last piece of mind that he wanted to impart, "If you think you're good; then get the fuck out of here. Me and my place of escape will be fine without you being here to remind me."
Xian saw Jun's receding back and wanted to stop him. He hadn't meant to speak ill, but...
His eyes glanced around the empty rink and all he could think back was to the next morning when he got up and found a hockey stick with blood on it.
They ruined him. They ruined his love for the game.
"Xian..." Crouching in front of Xian, JC's eyes were filled with warmth. Pulling him for a hug, Xian cried out his pain. A pain that no one could know about.
The pain of waking up and practicing, when all he wanted to do was to give up. How could something so sacred be sullied?
"JC..."
"I am here brother. I am here."
Yes. He is. But he needed someone else too.
