🏒Aggressive ⛸️

"You insolent boy! What have you done? What were you thinking Wei Wuxian?!"

Looking at his team manager Qiren with defiance, Xian tried to quash his anger. Behind him; the stadium was still cheering loudly for their victory, but their victory was under last account of goal scored by JC making it 2-1.

Xian's knuckles turned white in anger as he remembered that one goal which passed through his tending. That one goal which lead to Xian loosing his mind, getting aggressive and causing a brawl with other team's forward.

Lucky for Xian and his team, the forward from opposite team used his skate blades as a medium of attack to kick which caused an injury just above his eyebrows. Resulting in Xian throwing a punch and both players were suspended from playing the game.

JC being a saviour got back that one point and led the team to victory.

"Here." Coach Chen had placed a bag of ice on Xian's eyes. "The wound is deep. We could only get you an emergency aid. You need to visit the hospital Xian. Looks like you would require some stitches."

"He requires more than stitches Chen. He is in dire need of a brain to comprehend his errors."

Hearing this was the last straw of patience for Xian. The next second he got up to leave but not without giving a piece of mind to their manager. "If you hate me so much, why don't you kick me out of the team?"

The wrath behind the elder's eyes were evident. "If I had that power, believe me I would. You ungrateful ass. This wasn't the first time you got into a brawl. Last game of yours was aggressive too. The-" Qiren was cut off by his phone ringing. Watching the name on screen his face turned pale. He thought to himself; not what I needed at this moment.

JC was now standing guard next to Xian and he was grateful to his friend. His team had not yet accused him but he sure knew they weren't too happy either. Meanwhile; rest of them tried to read Qiren's gestures. Whoever was on the other side of that call, didn't seem too happy. The moment their manager ended the call, he turned his fury towards Xian.

"Happy! This is what you wanted right?"

"What happened Sir Ren?" Their Captain Jin was the one to enquire hesitantly.

"The one thing I was dreading. Thanks to this idiot, the board has decided to suspend Xian for next three games."

"Fuck!"

"No!"

"Damn!"

Xian heard chorus of disappointments around him and guilt ate him from inside. He did not want this either.

"Sir Ren, is there something we can do? I can do? We need Xian. He's our best chance to win the nationals."

"Jin." Coach Chen tried to placate the captain in distress. "This is just start of the season. We cannot go against the boards decision."

"But coach, the other teams will score and it would be difficult to gain points. Isn't there any other punishment for him? We're all aware Xian does not have malice in his heart. There are also enough proofs that the other team instigated him."

"That was one thing which troubled me the most." Xian now sought their manager's eyes which had lost the fight in them. "The way he has been playing for past few games, not only we but the other team noticed his weakness too. They used it well. There isn't anything that can be done. Tonight there will be a press conference."

Catching Xian's eyes; Ren sighed sadly, "You had a bright future Wei Wuxian. Your anger let you down." With that he walked away and all Xian could do was turn down the bile that came to rise.

Without another word each of his teammates left; save JC, Xian and Coach Chen.

"JC, take Xian to the hospital and later meet me at my place. Let's talk there. I'll try to find out some solution to this mess."

They both watched his retreating back and finally Xian slumped on the bench. JC didn't speak. No words were needed. His friend knew what Xian needed right now and that was what he got.

Solitude.

"Aren't you going to reprimand me?" Xian's voice sounded pathetic even to his own ears. Yet, he wanted to know if things were going to be alright with JC.

"I am more worried about you my brother." JC was always the kind one. Brother by bond and friends by destiny. "Let's go inside. Coach Chen would be waiting for us. We also need to inform him about the doctor's prescriptions."

Just as he was about to enter, Xian caught hold of his wrist and without looking up, his voice copied the tremors of his heart. "I... am sorry." He didn't have the courage to look at the other man in front of him. "I hope you have it in your heart to forgive me. To be honest, it wasn't my intention to loose my cool but..."Xian was cut off by JC's soft voice.

"Xian, we have known eachother since we were three. It was you who motivated me to join Ice Hockey. I am here because of you. We both together saw a dream to reach NHL." Clasping Xian's chin, JC raised his face and peered into his friend's eyes, "What is happening Xian? You aren't the one to fight. Sir Ren is right. Your style of playing has changed. What went wrong?"

Dejected, Xian looked away and murmured with heavy heart, "Maybe I should quit. I-"

"I heard you once. Don't let me hear you say this again." Both boys turned towards a familiar voice that belonged to their coach.

"I came out to see what was taking you two so long." Standing in front of Xian, Chen's voice was grave with seriousness, "I have never known you to be a quitter Xian. It saddens me to even hear you say such things. What happened to that passionate soul whose only aim was to reach NHL?"

Not waiting to hear an answer, Chen beckoned them to come in. To their surprise, Sir Ren was also present.

"Uncle-" Xian went to greet when Lan Qiren snorted. "Now he calls me uncle."

"Hey! If you want to hit me then do so... But don't go about belittling me." Xian's anger was now apparent and Uncle Lan was not the one to back down either.

"Watch your words young Xian. I can still spank the ever living shit out of you. Had I not considered you as my own son, your ass would never have met another rink."

At that statement Xian sobered up quickly. True. Uncle Lan had indeed treated him and JC as his own.

"I am sorry." At Xian's sincere apology, uncle Lan chose to remain quiet and acknowledge JC with a fond smile.

"It's Xian's good deed to have a brother like you JC." Turning to the short tempered lad, Uncle was all set to reprimand him. But seeing Xian, Qiren was reminded of his own dear friend who was also once Xian's father.

"Let bygones be bygones Xian. There isn't much we can do to change the board's mind. Yet, there is one way to redeem yourself. You have always played "Aggressive Style" of goaltending, which has been beneficial to you until now. But, it's time you made some changes. Especially if you want to be a part of NHL. An active player to top it all."

"Uncle-"

"Hear me out Xian. There is one player who can help you. He himself was once a prodigy in the world of Ice Hockey; but chose to seclude himself because of circumstances."

This time it was JC who interrupted, "Are you talking about Jun?"

"Yes. The very same. He was an excellent forward and often goaltenders found him quite a nuisance. If there is someone who can help Xian, it is Jun."

"But;" Xian glanced from Chen to Qiren, "Didn't he quit playing? How can a retired player help me?"

"Quite contrary to popular belief, Jun did not retire Xian. He had to quite for a reason. I agree with uncle Lan. He's the only one who can help you out. Question is do you want help?"

Xian pondered for a moment as his eyes met each and everyone in the room. They all had same emotion. Concern for him.

With all the smile he could muster up; Xian asked, "So where can I meet this Jun?"

Relief was another emotion they all gave him back.

Parking his Audi R8 behind a small beautiful house; Xian let his eyes rover against the vast expanse. Surrounded by lush green forrest on one side and hills at the other, the only thought that ran course through him was; I would like to retire in such quiet place too.

After leaving Coach Chen's place, JC had confided in him that Jun was elder to them by couple of years. Which made Xian wonder how old was this man?

With a sigh he picked up his gears and bag and proceeded to make his way through the entry way way when all of a sudden there was a huge bear running towards him.

B... Bear!!!

Just as Xian was about to run, he heard a shrill pierce through the air and the bear stopped in his tracks.

"Sahara!"

The bear turned back to where the voice came from and soon a man followed that voice.

Xian stopped breathing.

The man was naked. No, not naked. He had his pants on, Xian thought solemnly. He just didn't have his shirt on. Though his upper body was covered in tattoos and that was quite appetizing to look at.

As the man approached, he raised his hand to shake and greet, "Hi. You must be Wei Wuxian?"

Xian raised his hand in return and was impressed with the other man's strong clasp. He had honey coloured eyes.

"Please call me Xian."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Xian. I am Lan Wangji; aka Jun."

Xian once again raked his eyes over the man and two things resonated within him. The word Azure and secondly, it was now he understood why Jun quit Ice Hockey. He had prosthetic legs.

Aggressive Style of Goal Tending: This style is mainly used for breakaways and slap/snapshots.

Pros: You cover almost all of the net. Easy to maneuver.

Cons: On a deke you need to get back. Less time to react.
