"I will kill them." Feitan grumbled, sitting at the end of the couch.
He didn't bother to look at Phinks and Shalnark were both on the floor, playing cards. Only pausing their game to respond to Feitan. While also keeping a careful eye on each other, to make sure they wouldn't cheat.
"Give it a week," Shalnark reasoned. Cutting in before Phinks could make the problem worse.
"You said I could kill if I don't like," Feitan reminded, his tone bitter.
"Yeah, but we've barely talked to them. What's the point of doing all this just to give in on the first day?"
"I don't like them."
"Oh c'mon," Phinks finally cut in, dropping his cards to the floor as he stood, moving into Feitan's personal space, "You really gonna ruin this for us?"
"Yes."
"God, you're such a buzz kill." Phinks groaned, pushing himself away from the black haired man, "Get drunk for once, you'll be more enjoyable."
"All you have to do is read books and stay to the side," Shalnark stopped what might've evolved into a fight before it could begin, "They have enough reading material here to last you a week, and you can stay in your room."
"I don't care." Feitan grumbled, about to speak more, but shutting his mouth as he heard the door creak open.
Shalnark having him an expectant state, to which Feitan just sighed. And went back to reading.
—
"Welcome home," Phinks immediately appeared beside you when you entered the house. Ruffling your hair, before wrapping his arm around your shoulder. "How was work, what was that like? Is it fun?"
The three's ability to get around scared you. It's like they didn't even realize normal people just can't move that fast.
"Uh.. it was.. work?" You blinked, furrowing your eyebrows as stared at him.
He was suddenly acting much more approachable than when they got here yesterday. And the wording to his question was rather.. odd?
Oh.
They're mental hospital patients. They might not be used to the outside world. Do you have to start socializing them with other humans? Or are you supposed to hide them?
"It was boring. Customers are idiots, can't stand 'em." You corrected. Assuming he wouldn't know what work really was. Especially not customer service jobs.
"Whys that?" Shalnark asked, following as you entered the kitchen, hoisting himself up onto the counter.
Phinks followed you into the kitchen too, opting to stand just a bit too close to comfort. You assumed he didn't know better.
"Huh? I don't know, they just ask dumb questions. Make me work twice as hard, because they can't solve an issue on their own. That or they just steal."
"Got a problem with stealing?" Phinks questioned, leaning back against the counter, eyes locked on you, "Some high moral compass?"
"I don't care if people steal, as long as it doesn't become my problem." You huffed, trying to ignore the way their stares made your skin crawl.
You could tell Feitan was watching you, too. Even if every time you looked back his eyes were glued to a book.
You could feel it. It wasn't the normal feeling of being watched you usually got. Just some feeling of utter fear, that was hard to push down.
Maybe you should send them back to the mental institution.
"So if we stole-" Phinks got cut off by an elbow to the ribs. Shalnark smiling as he took over talking.
"Sounds rough," He hummed, like you didn't notice the discreet looks him and Phinks were giving each other "would you like us to leave you alone?"
"Do what you want." You shrugged, digging an apple out of the fruit bowl, biting into it. "You live here too."
"Ah right," Shalnark nodded, elbowing Phinks again the second he opened his mouth, "what's the food and rent situation?"
You blinked again. Didn't they not even read your ad, it mentioned the rent.
Then again, they probably just needed a place to hide.
Sighing, you accepted your fate of answering dumb questions at home, rather than just at work.
At least the three had a reason.
"Rent is split evenly. One fourth per person," You explained, noticing Feitan's discreet eye rolling out of the corner of your eye. "Groceries is buy your own. Or ask before taking mine."
"Cool, can I have an apple? I'm starved." Phinks asked, promptly moving directly in front of you, leaning over you to grab an apple. Body right up against yours. His free hand resting on the countertop, trapping you in.
As if he didn't notice you instinctively backing up into the counter to keep some personal space. Then again, with him, maybe he didn't.
After he backed away, you added, "And get permission."
"Oh." He bit into the apple anyway.
This was going to be hell.
"They tense. Heartbeat fast. Don't enjoy touch." Feitan noted, suddenly right beside you.
You screamed.
They all just stared.
"Told you, tense." Feitan added, before moving away again. Rummaging through your fridge. Ignoring that he had scared the ever living shit out of you.
"Please don't do that again." You managed to say the second your heart stopped racing and the tension dissipated from your shoulders.
"Or else?" Feitan didn't even look at you, grabbing a cucumber out of your fridge. Setting on the counter before opening the knife drawer.
You were kind of scared that he knew where the knives were. Then again, they've been here unsupervised all day.
"I'll suck your eyeballs out of your eye sockets?"
He gave you a quick evaluating glance, before nodding, "Nice."
You meant to say something normal like I'll stab you. But that sounded too serious. Wouldn't want him to think you were actually threatening him.
Of course, sucking out eyeballs was in no way better. Rather it was much, much worse.
"Aw, they got Feitan's approval," Phinks cooed, a sound that seemed wrong coming from his lips.
You expected him to be gruff at all times.
"Cool, that's great," You slid past Shalnark, backing out of the kitchen, "I'm just gonna go now, not for any particular reason. Glad you're all settled in."
"They really are tense," Shalnark added, tilting his head. His hand going to his chin thoughtfully. "And we haven't done anything to them yet."
"Yet?" The question slipped from your lips before you could think about your words. Mouth feeling a bit dry as they stared at you.
Feitan not included, as he had once again lost interest in you.
"Don't worry, we aren't planning anything, Doll," Phinks assured with a overly confident smirk, grabbing you by your collar as he leaned down, face to face with you "Why, you scared?"
You blinked, trying to keep your expression as natural as possible.
Yes was a terrible answer. No was an easily disproven lie. Avoiding the question was your only option.
"Doll?" You asked, eyes flicking over to Shalnark, who just kept looking at you like you were a social experiment.
"You're as fragile as one."
"Thanks." You replied dryly, earning a potentially amused scoff from Feitan. You could never tell. Not that you wanted to know what happened inside his mind.
"You're so very welcome," Phinks finally let you go, taking a small step away. "Run along now."
You're took the opportunity before you lost it. Immediately turning and leaving to your room. Closing and locking the door behind you.
—
"So?" Shalnark asked, stealing a slice of cucumber and popping it into his mouth. Giving Feitan an expectant look.
"Two more days." Feitan grumbled, glancing towards the door at the end of the hall.
"I'll take it." Shal laughed, taking another slice of cucumber before walking off.
Feitan only did it to appease Shalnark and Phinks. Though, perhaps the eyeball threat had helped their case. Whether they knew that or not.
It gave him a nice new idea to try out. He does feel some pity for his victims, but honing his skill was necessary.
"Don't stay out all night." Phinks called back as he walked off.
It wasn't surprise that he knew what Feitan was planning. They knew each other well enough to know the other's tastes.

LowkeyAtRiskOfSuicide
Guys my roommates don't know how anything works socially. How do I expose them to more humans without causing harm to society as a whole.
Catsuitgater
Bring humans to your home. They'll feel less threatened if they're in a habitat they know.
——BrosHoesandeverythinggoes replying to Catsuitgater
Yeah but they'll think people are imposing on their territory.
———Catsuitgater replying to BrosHoesandeverythinggoes
Then they'll take it as a sacrifice and that puts at Op at a lower risk of being taken.

Well isn't that comforting.

Fun Facts:
• Trying to avoid second hand embarrassment, but for this to work out I need Y/n to be at least a bit afraid. And y'all can suck it up until chapter 5.
• Phinks is literally JUST trying to annoy you. Probably enjoying himself the most. Shalnark in a close second, viewing this as a social experiment.
• I only wrote so I can make the twitter/tumblr/whatever this is part at the end.
