Night of Champions is fast approaching as the aftermath of the implosion of the Riott Squad is still felt with Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott going at one another. Apart from this, Don Patricio has now made his intentions clear that he will go after the United States Champion now held by Apollo Crews. 

Backstage
MVP and Lashley were with Don as he was about to head down to the ring.

Lashley: At least you reoriented your sights, but remember, you HAVE to do what it takes to make people respect the Hurt Business again. 

MVP: We didn't stutter but you better start pulling your own damned weight.

Don: Got it, Mr. CEO. Mentor.

As Don heads to the ring, Liv runs into him and she smirks.

Liv: Hi Donny~

Don: I'm Don. Not Donny.

Liv: I know that. But good luck out there. 

Don: Oh I will be watching.

Don proceeds onward as Liv smirks.

Middle of the First Hour
After the promotion was played on TV and in the arena of the Night of Champions PPV this coming Sunday, Don comes rushing out in disgust.

Don: Oh hell no! Night of Champions is missing some matches. Hell no, no way! 

The crowd boos as Don heads into the ring with disgust all over his face.

Don: I am right here because apparently the United States Championship is NOT being defended? Now that is a disservice not just to these idiots but to me! I am calling you out Apollo Crews, United States *airquotes* Champion.

Minutes passed and no Apollo Crews in sight, Don goes on.

Don: I thought you were a fighting champion. What the hell is this? Did the Hurt Lock rob your manhood too, Apollo?

The United States Champion, Apollo Crews finally comes out to the ramp way with microphone in hand.

Apollo: Are you done? Because you and your childish, fake playground bully call outs is not what we need to get me an opponent for Night of Champions because you aren't worthy for the title.

Don: So what you're saying is, you're going back on your word on being a fighting champion? Is that what I'm getting here?

Apollo: I'm only saving you from getting Hurt Locked until you end up on the shelf.

Don: Let me worry that on my own. If I were you, I'd worry getting beaten and losing the belt to a pissed off Don Patricio.

Apollo: And where did that exactly get you? Lashley beat both you and Cedric down after the Street Profits brutally took the Tag Titles off you all. I'm only concerned is all.

Don: *nods* Where do you come off acting like you know my fate? I came up here ....

Apollo: And opportunity was handed right down to you by the fact that you were MVP's pet project at a legacy but failed. In fact, I feel sorry for you man. I'll beat you down and Lashley will beat what's left.

Don: *enraged* say it again in front of me and in the ring!

Apollo walks into the ring as he closes the gap and appears in front of Don.

Apollo: I pity the fact that after Sunday, not only will I beat you down and retain the title. Lashley will beat you down until the next time you actually win it, which sorry to say but you have to understand this, not happening while I am US Champ.

As Apollo nearly gets in Don's face, Liv runs from the crowd and into the ring, backing Don away, to his surprise.

Don: What the hell is this?

Liv: Saving you for Sunday, Donny.

Don: No, I need no saving! 

Apollo: Oh, what's this? The Tiger Cub calls out a Black Cat?

Liv wanted a piece of Apollo but Don was backing her away.

Don: I don't know who put you up to this, but let me fight my own fights!

Apollo: It seems to me it's a bit of trouble in paradise. And *smirks* I won't be the one to pry Liv away from you. But she will!

Don was confused as he faces Apollo while Liv was pulled out of the ring by none other than her former tag team partner, Ruby Riott as a fistfight occurs. As the beatdown goes on, Shane McMahon comes out and calls on referees and arena security to restrain all four participants.

Shane: That is enough! Before things go for the worse, let's make this official since all four of you want to get steam off, we will now have a Mixed Tag Team Match between Don Patricio and Liv Morgan against the team of the United States Champion Apollo Crews and Ruby Riott! Leave a referee in there and ring that bell!

Timeskip to the end of the match
Don Patricio and Liv Morgan v. Apollo Crews and Ruby Riott
Liv initially had Ruby on the ropes, but Ruby hits the Deadly Night Shade on the Problem Child. Ruby now arm wrenches Liv for the Riott Kick and hits it. 

Liv recoils to the ropes and unknowingly ends up in their corner as Don blind tags himself in, which the referee caught. Ruby tries to pin her former tag partner but the referee does not count it, which causes the Leader of the Former Riott Squad to argue with the official. 

While this was going on, Don grabs the US Title from the timekeeper's area. He then rolls back in, only to end up in range for a picture perfect drop kick. Apollo then goes for the Military Press Slam before going for a Standing Shooting Star Press, which Don counters with letting his two knees up.

Apollo is doubled over as Don sneakily arms himself with the brass knuckles, covering it by feigning a hit on his core. The referee tends to the belt in the ring as he calls for the timekeeper to take it back to his area.

While this was happening, Apollo goes over to Don to go for the Spin Out Powerbomb. Don was one step ahead as he had Apollo in the headlock and raked his eyes before decking him on the temple with a right handed brass knuckled punch. The US Champion know kneeling was in range for the Mercy Shot as Don tossed the knuckles out of the ring.

Don then goes for the Mercy Shot

Don covers Apollo for the three count.

ONE...TWO...

Ruby tries to break the pin but Liv charges into her with a Thesz Press

THREE!

Liv hits a parting 201 Facebreaker on Ruby before going for the ObLIVion as the bell rings

Both Don and Liv had their arms raised then pulls away from the referee. Don went outside and stands triumphantly over Apollo as he steps on the champion's chest, raising the US Title above his head. Liv goes on her stomach and waves at both their opposition.

As Don gets out of the ring, Liv wraps herself on his back and screams in victory. Don, annoyed, heads to the back.

Backstage
While Liv is still on Don like a Backpack, Shane met them and was more than displeased.

Shane: You two get what you want but let me say, consequences will be there. Liv, you get Ruby in a match.

Liv: I get to beat her down again!

Shane: And you, Don Patricio, newest member of the Hurt Business, you get your wish and face Apollo Crews for the United States Championship.

Don: Shane-o, glad to do business with you.

Don stretches his hand out but Shane did not take that remark lightly.

Shane: Only my dad can call me Shane-o. 

Shane furiously walks away as Liv celebrates.

After the show
Hotel
Don and Liv were lying on the bed as they saw WWE's social media account make the matches official.

United States Championship Match
Don Patricio v. Apollo Crews (c)

Liv Morgan v. Ruby Riott

Liv: It has to come to this. 

Don: I know. Another shot at a title and make mentor proud.

Liv nods but sadly pouts.

Don: Hey, you'll get that win. I've seen you train and work hard even to the point you had a ring set up in Wonderland Ranch.

Liv: I had to silly! *giggles* Being made to sit out and do nothing cannot be an excuse for me to get ring rust.

Don: Yet there are those who ignore it and still decide to keep featuring their favorites.....

Liv kisses Don on the cheek.

Liv: Let's go beddy time.

Don lays back and puts away his phone as he opens his arms for Liv to lay on top of him. Even when clothed, Don's hands still find their way on her pronounced rear. Liv moans but only to hug him back.

Liv: Night night Boyfie!

Don: Night night, girlfie.

They both share a good night kiss before turning in for the day.
