Chapter 37 Summerslam 2020: Riot?

A/N: Before the chapter starts, I am still in shock over the news I woke up to hours ago. Couldn't find the words until now that it has somehow sunk in but please allow me...

RIP Windham Rotunda (a.k.a. Bray Wyatt)

Be it as the upstart Husky Harris to the cult leader turned Two sided Funhouse Fiend to the one we saw before he passed, thank you for the decade filled storylines, dedication and performance you have given to the fans.

The ever chilling entrance, promos, vignettes to even the feuds gave the man his best and memorable moments. It made an impact to the point that in my role plays with my good friends alexrelatado DeathValleyRider NovFour along with other Alpha-Bliss Battalion friends brought in the alternate of my RP Character D3 as FIEND3.

That aside, the Firefly funhouse arc was one of the things that got me hooked in more during the pandemic era WWE after a long time away from the product.

But going back, the dedication this man has given to every storyline and appearance to the cast of characters he has portrayed and worked alongside with will be a treasure chest of memories to those of us who have witnessed it as he did. Just like his entrances as Bray Wyatt the head of the Wyatt Family, he was like a light that shines just as the lantern that he brings to the ring that has others shine their lights with him.

A light amidst uncertainty. A light that shines for one to shine along and not let dim on its own. Love him or hate him for the character he has portrayed, he did his job well and in the words of the song used during his feud with John Cena, "he has the whole world in his hands." Our whole world as wrestling fans were indeed in his hands thanks to the work he has done and the stories he was a part of that made us enjoy the product.

Rest in Power and Peace, good sir.

Onto the chapter itself

August 23, 2020
WWE Summerslam
Denny Sanford Premier Center
Sioux Falls, South Dakota
As Summerslam begins, Don and Liv have quite the night ahead as the Riotts will face off against the Bellas, while Don and Cedric, carrying the banner of the Hurt Business, will go up against the Street Profits in a street fight to defend the titles. Both arrived then separated for a bit to meet with Shane and creative for how things will go.

Backstage
Liv was all ready and geared up as her match will go earlier in the card than the Street Fight. She was all skippy and jumping to prepare herself. Don saw this and daringly spanks her pronounced behind.

Liv: *smirks* Donny!

Don: Wasn't me!

Liv: Oh really? Why are you blushing? *smirks more*

Don was guilty as his face began to blush a deeper red, to which Liv wraps herself for a hug but is careful not to smear her makeup. Don hugged her but kept away from her face.

Don: Well, I can't kiss you so this will do.

Don began to rub Liv's covered butt, which elicited soft moans from Liv.

Liv: Donny.... put me down pweeze

Don gave in and let her down as she smiles and waves him goodbye before they prepare for their respective matches.

Riott Squad (Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott) v. The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie Bella)

Mike Rome: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. First, from Scottsdale, Arizona Hall of Famers, Nikki and Brie, the Bella Twins!

The Bellas come out to a mix of cheers and boos, mostly the latter, as they came in brimming with confidence and arrogance.

Samoa Joe: The match is a damn formality. Bellas will win, Twin Magic, calling it.

Byron: Well that's not fair

Joe: Stop rooting for losers just because you are one!

Mike Rome: And their opponents, Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan, the Riott Squad!

Joe: Oh here comes the Pity Party...oh it's just Ruby and the sad excuse of dumb blonde named Liv

Byron: That's not very nice!

Joe: Oh shut up!

Tom: Guys, this is quite a few weeks after Ruby has finally spoken up. But we cannot ignore that Liv has been going rogue

Byron: Riot by her own rules maybe but it's quite surprising that Ruby is more cautious

Joe: You should be surprised that Liv is dragging Ruby down the gutter. Then again, Liv's been there all her life and is being carried up out of...

Byron: Now hey!

Joe: Cut me off and I swear it will be nights out for you Saxton!

Match Start
Just like their encounter in their previous match, Nikki and Liv were the legal women for their respective teams. Nikki was pointing to the ground and motioning for Liv to lay down and sell the win to them. Liv responds by nodding and getting closer to Nikki.

The former Divas from the two was smugly awaiting for Liv to position herself to the ground, but was met with a resounding slap on the face by Liv. Nikki no sold the slap and began to punch away at the Problem Child.

Highlights of the Match
- Nikki hits Liv with a Jumping Clothesline
- Liv counters another Jumping Clothesline attempt with a Matrix Evasion transitioning into a Mat Slam
- Ruby hits a Penalty Kick on Nikki
- Brie hits a Low Dropkick on Ruby
- Nikki hits a Running Dropkick on Ruby and mocks Liv by the corner with her own taunt
- Brie hits Liv with the Yes Kicks before hitting a head kick
- Liv hits the Double Leg Corner throw on Brie as Ruby catches Brie with the Deadly Night Shade

Timeskip to the end of the match
After a series of near falls, interceptions and tandem offenses, Liv and Brie were now in the ring after Ruby had tagged Liv in as she took a majority of the Bella's offense. Ruby tries to reach out for the tag, but out of nowhere, Nikki grabs Ruby by the heels and yanks her down as she tosses the leader of the Riott Squad into the Steel Steps shoulder first.

As this was happening, Liv hits the 201 Facebreaker on Brie and covers her.

ONE...TWO...

Nikki breaks the pin and does the "Loser taunt" at Liv before doing the "You Can't See Me". This got Liv mad as she was about to hit Nikki with the 201 Facebreaker, but Nikki counters it into an AA Attempt. Ruby chop blocks Nikki as the referee begins to count to 5 for Ruby and Nikki to exit the ring.

Nikki lets go as Ruby returns to her corner as Liv gets up to Brie getting ready to hit Brie Mode from the middle rope. Brie launches herself for Brie Mode, but ends up landing on her back as Liv sidesteps but with fatigue kicking in.

Both legal competitors once again begin to go for hot tags as Ruby stretches her good arm out. Liv tags in Ruby, which the referee sees as Ruby begins an onslaught of kicks on Brie Bella, dealing one to Nikki to neutralize her for the meantime as Ruby hesitates a bit before tagging in Liv for their tandem finisher.

Ruby wrenches the arm before Liv dealing another 201 Facebreaker on Brie as Ruby hits a Riott Kick as follow up. Liv was catching her breath as the referee was motioning for Ruby to get back into their corner. As this was happening, Twin Magic happened when Nikki switched places with Brie, playing possum and draping herself on the ropes with her back.

Liv was about to run for the ObLIVion, but was met with a Fearless Spear by Nikki and covers Liv with her legs away from Liv's side and holding Liv by the legs.

ONE...

Ruby tried to get in but is shoulder blocked out by Brie.

TWO...

Brie assists Nikki by grabbing her heels and lifting them up to the middle rope

THREE!

The referee motions for the bell to be rang, which had Brie re-entering the ring with Nikki rolling out of the way. Liv was livid as she saw that Brie, and not Nikki had covered her, falling victim to the notorious Bella Twin Magic.

Mike: The winners of the match, the Bella Twins!

Brie had her arm raised Liv began to argue with the referee. Nikki slaps Liv and hits the AA and Rack Attack 2.0 for both twins to have their arms raised.

The Bellas exit the ring with Liv trying to get up, with Ruby nursing her hurting shoulder. She helps Liv up as both Riott Squad members shared a tearful hug to the cheers of the fans. As Liv breaks the hug, Ruby still had hold of Liv's left arm and wrenches it quick to hit a Riott Kick, to the audible gasps of the fans in attendance.

Ruby shouted at her ex-partner, who is laid out.

Ruby: You kept dragging me into YOUR business. Time to fly solo and leave the Rioting to me. Stay down!

Ruby walks out on Liv, who was slowly coming to and in tears after another painful loss to the Bellas and the Riott Squad being broken up.

Backstage
Ruby walks to the back as Charley tries to get some words from her.

Charley: Ruby! Ruby!

Ruby stops and sighs

Ruby: What is it?

Charley: A tough loss earlier but why did you deal the Riott Kick on Liv?

Ruby: I tried to give us a second chance. I expected we'd finally get a new lease in life. It had me thinking why I only am finger tips away from big moments. Then I realized, I've been carrying a weight and pain in my shoulders physically and figuratively. Physically, my shoulders will be okay. Figuratively, the dead weight known as Liv Morgan, can go back to finding herself and self-destructing because I am DONE carrying driftwood. I start Riotts my own way!

Ruby walks out to end the segment.

With Don
Locker Room
Last Minutes of Bellas v. Riott Squad
Don was watching the match as he saw the Twin Magic unfold. He was furious as the referee still counted the fall despite clearly seeing Nikki take the pin.

Don: THIS IS BULLSHIT!

He sat through with disgust to see the celebration of the Bellas then Ruby breaking up the Squad with a Riott Kick

Don: WHAT IN THE HELL?!?!?

Don lets the segment end and walks to the back to console his girlfriend

To be continued....
(A/N: Yes, this will be a two parter because I feel fitting the Street Fight here will make this too word count heavy and long)
