carrion birds love hit-and-runs
A hit-and-run collision
I'm left limp in the street
And you're out in your car
Or maybe you've got to where you're going
But you aren't here with me.
You've left me twisted limbs and glassy eyes
To fester into soil
While you move on to the next obstacle.
Are you guilty?
Here come the carrion birds,
Bloody beaks and cranberry eyes,
Tearing at my stomach, my thighs,
Everything you didn't like.
Maybe you know they're here;
Maybe you sent them.
