Nancy was working in the kitchen when she heard someone ringing the gate bell. She checked the camera to see who it was, and she was shocked to see the police at the gate. She was even more shocked to see Devon with them.
"Did Devon tell the police everything?" she thought in fear. She wondered what would happen to her.
"Will they put me in jail too for what's happening in the house?" she thought, but the sound of the bell ringing again interrupted her thoughts.
"But... but I was afraid. I had no power over him," Nancy thought. She didn't know what to do. There was no way she could leave the house without getting caught by the police.
When the bell rang for the third time, Nancy began to walk slowly toward the gate. She was scared, and her palms were sweating.
Nancy opened the gate, and she looked like she had just seen a ghost. Her gaze shifted between the police and Devon.
"We want to meet Mrs. Millers," one of the officers said.
"Oh no. Devon told them everything," she thought.
"O... okay," she muttered nervously.
"Can we come in?" another officer asked. Nancy, shaking, opened the gate.
"Come in," she said. Nancy knew Ruben had gone to the camp to bring Devon back home. But Ruben wasn't here now, and Devon was with the police. "That means they put him in jail," Nancy thought.
All of them entered the house. Nancy looked at the police officers nervously. "I... I don't have the keys though," she said.
"Keys for what?" one of the officers asked.
"To unlock the cell. All the keys are with Mr. Millers," Nancy replied.
The officers exchanged looks, realizing something suspicious was going on.
The two officers looked at each other before one turned to Nancy. "Do you have any idea where he keeps his keys?" he asked.
"No," Nancy replied.
"Then you'll have to take us to her, I guess," the officer said, glancing at his partner.
"Okay," Nancy said, her eyes wide. "Am... am I in trouble? I... I have nothing to do with this. He's a monster. I was scared. Ask him! We're all scared of him," she started pleading loudly.
"Take us to her," the officer commanded.
Nancy led them to the basement. The basement was dimly lit, and the two police officers carefully descended the stairs, ready to draw their guns at any moment.
What they saw in the basement shocked them. There were three small cells, all locked. Inside each cell was a person, staring at them with fear at first.
"Police... it's the police! Help us! Please, help us!" a woman in one of the cells started screaming. She was wounded and wearing dirty clothes.
One of the officers quickly pulled out his walkie-talkie and called the control room.
