Never enough.

Not a real man.

A disgrace to the family name.

A smart-mouthed thorn in everyone's side.

Those are some of the many (if not thousands) descriptions of a highly intelligent yet overly bullied nerd named Wendell "Hardass" Harding- AKA, me.

And being the only brainiac in a family of Hollywood wannabes that held sway over the elites of Seattle was always a royal pain. And at McHenry Academy, it might as well be like walking into an execution chamber five days a week.

I bet Marylin Munster or Lisa Simpson had it much easier. But there was something I had that made me more unbreakable in my enemy's eyes.

As most untouchables (the nerds, the Goths, the poor scholarship kids, etc.) would just take the abuse, I was the one who fought back and took no bullshit from anyone- not the students, teachers, or even my "family." I had a sharp tongue that can unleash all secrets and could clock any person, bringing their ego down to shreds. Of course, that caused more harm than good, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from giving haters a reality check.

But even then, I knew that my limits of being unbreakable would reach their point. And even with my silver tongue and a strong mentor, I had my nights full of tears, numerous scars, and even a broken heart. I could attempt to give these people what they want- fake it 'til I make it, appease the "Popular Crowd," make nice with my double-minded kinfolk- and they would still treat me like I was nothing more than unwanted gum that was caught in their designer shoes.

Little did they all know that the more I was being broken, the bigger the raging storm in me was growing. And one fateful family dinner that would be full of betrayal would set off a domino effect that would culminate in the start of my road to healing. And after all that I went through, it was time for me to finally find peace after the storm.
