CHAPTER THIRTEEN!

FINAL FOUR.

BEING ALONE IS HORRIBLE, BEING ALONE AND HAVING THREE OTHER PEOPLE wanting to kill you only makes it worse. Since the death of Fallon and the boy from District Two, Rosalie has been thinking about those who are left. She knows for a fact the girl from District Two is still alive but the others, she has no clue.

The cut on her side is looking much better, still a little tender to the touch but okay nonetheless. That cream was almost a miracle, wiping out any signs of infection overnight. Who knows what Finnick had to say in order to persuade the sponsors to give her something, anything to make her better. He was right, he is good at persuasion.

Rosalie sips at the water from Zachariah's bottle, consuming some of the rations that he had left over. They're a little stale in comparison to what her's were the other day, but right now she will literally take any food she can get her hands on. Today could very well be the last day she is here and she needs her energy.

She finds her gaze moving to her side, looking for Fallon who is no longer there. She misses her presence, the way she was able to make light of situations but be serious when she had to be. Rosalie cannot help but think of her family back home - the boy who she was going to marry, her brothers and her parents. They must be absolutely distraught.

"You can do this," she mumbles to herself before getting back to her feet, stretching out her legs.

Carter's eyes are glued to the projection, just as they have been for days. He's had to watch his sister almost be killed twice now but also the toll the games are starting to have on her. She looks skinnier, unhealthy even, and there are dark bags under her eyes from her terrible sleep schedule. He can practically see the tears in her eyes as she probably thinks about what has happened to her over the past few days — Carter can practically feel her emotion through the screen.

"She's stronger than they gave her credit for," Asher comments as he walks over and takes a seat beside him. "She's killed two career tributes and survived multiple attacks. She could win this,"

The last sentence comes out in order to assure his younger brother that Rosalie will be fine. Asher has never been more grateful for Finnick Odair who is the reason she is able to function properly right now, that sponsor gift healing her up.

"I hope so," Carter whispers and the older brother looks over. Carter is watching as his sister walks through the area that is highly populated by trees once again.

The camera is quick to switch over when a fight begins to occur. The girl from District Two, who they'd learnt was named Mellie, is standing over the boy from Eleven with her knife. From what they've seen, she's entirely sadistic, and she's gunning for Rosalie. She has been since the first day they got in there, there have been many conversations broadcasted about it. The fact that Rosalie killed her District partner will probably not help her case.

The younger boy flinches at the sounds coming through the screen and covers his eyes, terrified that if he looks back it'll be Rosalie who is getting hurt. After a few minutes, it stops and the sound of the canon rings throughout the air.

"Only two more, C. Then she can come home," Asher speaks.

The sound of the canon startles the girl as she walks, her arm hitting a tree and grazing the skin. A few swear words fall from her lips, annoyed that she'd managed to hurt herself in such a stupid way.

Three left.

There are only three of them left in this arena which means the Capitol will have something up their sleeves in order to bring them together. Something horrid, no doubt about that.

She's decided to head back to the stream, the very one where she lost Fallon yesterday, just to get herself a refill on water. She may need it at any moment, it's the smarter thing to do rather than try to ration what little she has left.

Rosalie closes her eyes as she walks by the area where the blood is still visible, feeling pain at the sheer thought of the girl from District Seven. They flutter open again a few moments later and she quickly fills the bottles up, not wanting to waste time on this when she could hiding or running. This water way seems to be nothing but bad luck for her.

It seems to continue on in that very moment, the sounds of heavy footsteps heading straight towards her. Rosalie strings up an arrow in Fallon's bow and shoots it in the direction of the noise. It doesn't hit anything, more specifically anyone. Instead, the footsteps get even louder and a boy pushes his way through the bushes. Rosalie is frozen as she watches him, tears falling down his cheeks and his right hand clutching his wrist — where his other hand used to be.

More noises appear from behind him and Rosalie fully expects Mellie to push through but instead she is met with the sight of some human like body. It looks robotic in its movements, the creaking of metal ringing in her ears. In its hand is a large, metal sword that is slick with blood — more than likely that of the boy in front of her.

Rosalie aims the bow at the machine and hits it square in the shoulder, disabling its ability to move it. It, however, does not slow it down. The boy stumbles and trips, falling to the ground and the machine stands over him. Without even thinking of the consequences, she shoots it again, this time more around the chest. She then runs forward and stabs her knife into the side of its head and it falls to the ground.

The boy looks relieved but it quickly fades when he looks behind her again. Rosalie spins around to see more of them headed their way, two more to be exact. She can only imagine that one of these was made for each of them to have to deal with and she will have to deal with all three of them.

Do something or you will die.

Rosalie throws herself at the first one that comes her way, knocking it to the ground. It's almost as if it's stunned and she has time to stab it in the side of the head, effectively killing it. The boy is not so lucky, the other one stabbing it's sword straight through his chest and killing him almost instantly.

As the canon sounds Rosalie shoots it, hoping it'll put it down. However, it stops in it's tracks almost as if it has shut down. It's literally frozen, something it must have been programmed to do. They don't want the robot to be the reason somebody wins, they want the final two tributes to fight it out.

The other remaining tribute stumbles through the trees right at that moment and looks at Rosalie with a smirk.

Fight they shall.
