LAURA WINCHESTER walked down the sidewalks of Mystic Falls, watching the citizens shuffle aimlessly down the street.

"Are you sure there are supernatural beings here?" she asked, the question directed at her two brothers - Sam and Dean. "Everyone seems... Lazy."

"You haven't seen anything yet Laur." Dean said, scanning their surroundings, "Just wait, something is bound to show up."

Laura sighed as they neared the woods in which they'd be staying in a trailer constructed specifically for the three of them.

It was the right size and although they all could fit, Laura hoped for an actual house.

"We don't want anyone knowing where we are." Dean had explained when she first complained about it.

They entered the trailer one by one and Laura immediately went to the TV room.  If she couldn't have fun at least she does watch other people do it for her.

But what was on the TV was anything but fun.

"...in a series of five animal attacks in the area. Authorities have scoured the area several times to try to uncover evidence and get to the bottom of this but have come up with nothing. All victims have been drained of blood..."

Laura stared at the screen in dismay. "Are you guys hearing this?!" she said, looking at her brothers who were lurking in the doorway. They exchanged a knowing look.

"You knew??" she exclaimed. "You knew vampires were attacking people and you didn't even tell me?"

"We would have eventually."  Sam said in an apologetic tone.

"And part of the reason is because it isn't vampires - it's only one." Dean informed her.

"What do you mean just 'One'?" she asked curiously.

"Before we set course for this town, we asked around to get a feel of what we'd be facing..."

"And....?"

"And there is so far only one vampire killing people." He said, "His name is Damon. Damon Salvatore."
