"Capitan did Lyall do something?" asked Sumire looking back and forth from Lyall and the Capitan. "The young master came in and scared me, then he ripped up some papers, bumped into me turning us both wolf and mortal in the process of a few seconds".

Biffy and Sumire look at each other, noting that Lyall would never do anything like this but it did explain their two states and so she went over to her son who was now hiding in a dark corner of the room out of both his mothers and father's reach.

"Lyall get out of there right now" said his mother but he just shook his head and then poked his tongue out at her and he ignored her. "Lio you try will you, he always listens to you" sighed Sumire and handed over the situation to her husband.

"Lyall what happened?" asked his father but he too was ignored by his son, with much effort and about two hours later Lyall was finally out of the corner and handed over to his mother and right away was mortal again while the Capitan was his supernatural self once again.

"YOUR MEAN!" said Lyall to the Capitan once he was back to normal, both his parents look at each other and then at their son, whatever happened to their quiet boy that they knew. "Lyall why did you do that?" asked his father only to have his son turn his head and not say a word on the matter.

Luna and Unmei came back into the parlour holding a doll between them and noticed that their brother wasn't talking to their parents and was naked at the same time. "Lyall, what happened?" asked the girls together making them sound like their mother.

"He was mean to papa and mama" came the response and in the end he jumped out of his mother arms and headed upstairs away from everyone. "Well I never!" said Biffy to no one in particular, "your right about that Biffy" said his wife slipping up by calling him by his pack nickname than her own personal one.

He looked over to his wife and said "you know you just called me Biffy but other than that, our son is acting differently I wonder why that is?" and his wife just nodded and said "I know I did and I better go and talk to him and if not you will have to" and she headed upstairs towards her son's room.

"Lyall it's mama, I'm coming in" when she knocked on his door and in the middle of the room laid her son who had cried himself to sleep, she checked that his fever had gone but in fact it was still there. 'Well that explains his indifference at the moment' she thought and so placed him in his bed and left and went to find the Capitan.

"Capitan Bluebottle, I am sorry about what my son has done, but you must understand that it wasn't his fault I promise you that, he isn't well as you already know and it just so happens that it was the fever and not the normally quiet boy that we know, I can't say it wasn't him as it was but he's not well, please understand" and she walked out not waiting for a response to it and went to find Elijah or even Beatrice for that matter.

She found Beatrice just coming out of the kitchen, "just the person I want to talk to" said Sumire to her, "yes my Lady what can I do for you?" asked Beatrice and Sumire replied with "can you take some medicine up to Lyall in his room, he's not well at all and he seems to upset Capitan Bluebottle due to this. Can you keep an eye out and report anything that seems odd for him, please" and off went Sumire to the back parlour.

In the front parlour Biffy was looking after his daughters when a knock on the front door came and Beatrice went to answer it on her way up to Lyall's room. "Good evening and how my I help you?" she asked the man standing there.

"I'm looking for Biffy, you know him as your Lord, can I see him please?" asked the professor and she let him into the parlour right away, "the professor is here to see you, my Lord" and she left and headed up to the boys bedroom.

"Welcome back Lyall" said Biffy once he looked up from the book he was reading to his daughters, and once they heard the name Lyall they looked around for their brother and he wasn't there, it was the professor.

"What brings you back anyway? Any news?" asked Biffy to his friend and lover, "I wish I could say I had news but sadly I don't. In over hundred and fifty years everything has changed from what I know from when I was last here, I have no idea where I am anymore, but I can always find this place, it smells of werewolves and vampires mixed together" said the professor sitting down in a chair.

Both girls looked up at their father wanting him to read on but he never did and so both of them turned him mortal and them both wolf cubs out of annoyance.

"Damn it all, sorry" he said and the professor looked up at him as he was now been made a chew toy by his daughters, "ouch that hurts you know that when I'm mortal" pleaded their father making their mother come in and see what the ruckus was all about.

"By any chance did you stop reading to them?" she asked and in between slight cries of pain he said "yes" and she laughed and sat down and said "well that serves you right, you know they love story time with their papa and you didn't pay attention to what they wanted" and she drunk some tea while she watched her daughters having fun.

"My Lady, a message for you" said Elijah as he walked in and handed it to her, "thank you Eli, could you bring some refreshments in for us please?" she asked after taken the message from him and he nodded and left to do what she requested only to be stopped from reading it when Beatrice came in.

"Sorry to interrupt my Lady but Master Lyall is awake and is calling for you, his fever hasn't gone down either" said Beatrice, "thank you, well if you would excuse me for a moment, girls leave your papa alone now and I think he'll finish the story" said their mother as she was leaving.

The girls both sat on either side of him still as cubs and this made him look at his wife and she just smiled meaning 'finish the book and they will leave you alone' and so he finished the book while the professor waited patiently to finish talking to him.

Upstairs Sumire was in Lyall's room checking on him, "oh boy it looks like it's getting worse" said his mother, "I think you'll have to go to the hospital Lyall so then you can get better" she explained to her son.

"NO!" he screamed into her and then he was crying. "Yes, otherwise you won't be better for your birthday that your papa and Akel have planned for you" said his mother making him look up at her with tears in his eyes, "o.k." came the reply.

Sumire brought her son downstairs and into the parlour where her daughters had finished teasing their father and were now laying on his lap bored because their father was now talking to the professor about why he had come back to London.

"Lio we have a problem" said Sumire coming in interrupting the conversation and making them turn to her also making her daughters perk up at the sound of her voice.

"What's the matter my dear?" asked her husband and when he saw her face he was over at her side in seconds. "Lyall isn't well at all and so I'm going to take him to the hospital, can you come with me please?" she asked and he just nodded at her.

"I'll inform Channing that I'll be out and that he will be in charge of the pack until I get back" said Biffy walking out of the room while Sumire went about explaining things to her daughters as well and turning them back to humans again.

"Girls me and your father are going to take your brother to the hospital as he's not well at all, we're going to ask Lord Akeldama to look after you until we get back and I want to hear that you both have been well behaved the whole time, o.k." said Sumire and both girls nodded.

"Is Lyall going to be ok?" asked Unmei to her mother and she just nodded "yes he just has a very bad fever but he'll be fine" and so she took the hands of both her children and headed to the front door where Beatrice was holding Lyall.

"I'll pop round to Lord Akeldama's and see if he can babysit, I'll be back in a minute" said Sumire to Beatrice and over she went to next door. "Ah primrose welcome to my humble little home" said Lord Akeldama when he opened the door to her.

"I'm very sorry my Lord and I know it's at very short notice but could you look after the girls, me and Lio have to go to the hospital with Lyall" asked Sumire to the vampire.

"Why darling I would be honoured to look after the rays of sunshine" said the vampire, "bring them over in half an hour and then be on your way, I must have something to eat before anything else happens on this fine evening" finished the vampire and he slowly closed the door on her with a yawn.
