"Ok, the first person who passed the 4th exam can now leave the island." The announcer says.

Hisoka whispers something to Mikasa and leaves. Then its the pins guy's turn. After a couple more people, I finally hear.

"Would the 11th person to exit the exam please exit the boat." The announcer said.

I stepped off and made my way through the woods. I turned into a fox and chased after my guy. Killua let me smell a old shirt that Newt owned. I smelled it and can track him down. I wandered, plotting my agenda.

'First, I will take his tag. Then I'll morn, and then I'll find Killua, Gon, Kurapika, and Leo.' I thought as I sighed.

I spotted him about to eat a fish. I walked up, carefully, like I was shy. Newt looked up and saw me. He scowled at me.
"Get lost, you mangy fox." He yelled. He threw a rock as I approached. He 'scared' me off deep into the woods. I watched him, studied him. I noted his skill is with his pointed staff. He killed a fish as it was moving. I went down river and killed a fish with my paw as well. He trained a little more and soon, the sun was setting and he went to a rock to sleep.

When he was deep asleep, I reached into his pocket and took out his pin. I also took a little pouch. I put his pin and my pin in pouch and fled as fast as I could. I jumped from tree to tree until I spotted Gon, training with his fishing rod. I watched him for a while until I moved on. I raced through the forest, grabbing cuts and bruises. I got leaves stuck in my fur. I still ran and hoped he didn't follow me. I walked through the undergrowth, taking in the pretty summer leaves.

'This is a nice place to mourn.' I thought.

I buried my tokens and started to hunt food. I got 2 squirrels, 2 fish, and a rabbit. I came back and placed my food down. I sat at the base of a tree and I started thinking about my family.

'My sisters, born and unborn. My mama and my papa. They all died because of me.' I thought, sadly.

I began to sob.

*Mikasa's POV*

I was watching the events from the trees. I wanted so badly to hop down and give her a cuddle, but I couldn't. It was against the rules. That Sergei is more than a murder, he's a sadistic, sexual man. He took something of mine that I'll never get back. He shall pay.

*Killua's POV* *Time skip*

I was just walking, having caught my target already. I walked past this lovely place with a pretty undergrowth. I looked closer to see a orange fox, crying at the base of one of the trees.

"Kikumi?" I asked, hoping it was her.

The fox lifted her head and nod. I saw her fur matted down around her muzzle and her eyes brimming with tears. She went behind a tree and, I'm guessing, she transformed into a human. When she came out, tears were streaming down her face. Her hair was all tangled and covered with leaves. I walked over to her and tried to comfort her, but I failed.

'I want to say something to help her, but I don't know what to say. But, it must be horrible to lose a loved one. I don't know how I'd live if something happened to my sister.' I thought.

"Ki *sob* llua. I'm *sob* sor *sob* ry you ha *sob* d to *sob* see me li *sob* ke th *sob* is." She said in between sobs.

(Killua. I'm sorry you had to see me like this.)

"No no no. It's ok. I'm not mad at you. Please stop crying" I say frantically, trying to comfort her.

She just cried even more. I sat down with her as she gazed into a picture with her two sisters sitting next to her. The tears streamed down her face as she let out a pitiful wail. She began to scream, pounding the ground with her little fist, saying

"Sissies, I'm sorry. Its my fault. Please, come back to me. I can't live without you guys. HINA!!!! HENA!!!!!! MAMA!!!!! PAPA!!!!!! CHOU!!!!! COME BAAAACK!!!!!!!" She screamed.

I started to rub her back in trying to sooth her. She turned around and jumped into my chest, crying her heart out into me. She clung to my shirt, like her life depended on it. I still awkwardly rubbed her back.

Suddenly, the bushes shook. I jumped in front of Kikumi, who was curled up into a ball. I saw Newt come out of the forest.

"Hey, have you seen a fox around here? I think it took my pin." He asked.

I shook my head. He looked behind me and asked.

"Who's that? Is she a Hunter? If she is, she's pretty pathetic. I mean, who let's weak little girls into the competition?"

"Then why did they let you in?" I retorted.

He frowned at me.

"You didn't answer my question." He said, impatiently.

"She's a friend of mine and she's not weak." I told him, rudely.

He looked at Kikumi through me.

"Nope, she doesn't look strong to me. She looks like a puny little girl who can't do anything. I bet her parents hated her and....."

I cut him off. She curls back up into a ball at the mention the insults he just said. She began to cry because of her parents. I looked at Newt. He started to laugh at her crying. He began to speak again, but I said.

"Don't you dare start talking or I will kill you. She may not look like she's tough, but she's tougher than you. So don't say another word about her." I threatened.

He turned around and headed back to the woods.

"I have to go Killua. Keep a look out for that fox for me."

I clench and unclench my fists.

'Kikumi shouldn't be treated like that.' I think.

I turn around to see Kikumi sitting, holding the picture. She was still crying, but not as much as before.

"Thanks for sticking up for me." She said as she smiled, tears still on her face. She turned to me and asked

"Why did you stand up for me?"

"I couldn't just let the guy just make fun of you or your.......upbringers."

"Thanks." She said, the tears finally stopping.

She stood up and dusted her tattered little red sun dress off. Her green eyes looking at me.

"Do you want to tell me more about your family?" She asked.

I nodded and we walked away, into the trees.

"Wait, I want to check up on Gon. Come on." She said.

She lead me to Gon and we watched him train to catch a floating apple with his rod. She surpassed a giggle. She sighed and looked away.

"I'm still sad, but I'm happy your here with me, Killua." She said, kindly.

I smiled back.

*Kikumi's POV**Time skip*

Its been a couple of days since the chalange started and now its over. I hope that Gon, Kurapika, and Leo are safe. I look at Killua, gazing out into the sunset. I smile, knowing that tomorrow will be better.

"All applicants must come to the docks for their final test." I heard in the distance with my fox ears.

"Killua, its time to go to the docks." I said.

He nodded and stood up. I put away my fox ears and tail. We walked back to the docks together. I smiled again, knowing that I'll have my friends to help me through anything.

*???? POV*

As I watched the girl with the orange hair walk back, I smiled.

"Wow, I can't believe how much you've grown. You'll make a fine kid. I can't wait to see you again, little one." I say as I stare at the girl.

I hop out of the tree and get onto my little private boat.

I laugh at my plan all coming together.

"This is going to be fun." I say.
