Chapter Thirty-Three

Cain was right, I hadn't seen anything like this before. The same room we'd been in earlier had been altered into another world entirely. Splashes of colour stood out against the blank white walls, with floral arrangements and guests now adopting a more festive dress code. Apparently toga's were a big thing in these parts.

We'd barely made it through the doorway when a trumpet blasted from above us, drowning out all other noise in the room and instantly everyone stopped what they were doing and started to form a passage that clearly we were to walk down. It was strange to watch a room full of people move in sync, I half expected a flash mob to take over and reaching out Apollo's hand was there. Not for the first time, I held it as though it was my only life line and then we move.

The powers were easiest to identify, the same golden wreath Apollo wore and that he gave to me - sat upon their heads and as we went by them, I had no idea who was on our side. All their faces had identical forced smiles plastered on, which did nothing to settle my nerves. I looked up at Apollo trying to work out if he, if they, were really helping Cain or just setting him up for an epic failure?

"You ready for this?" He asked softly.

"Sure."

It didn't matter whose game I was playing, I was just a pawn no matter which way I looked at it. So I focused ahead of us where Zeus and Hera sat on their throne looking more bored than anything else. There was a plan, the only one I knew of so that was going to have to do. We finally stopped at the base of the stairs leading up to our mighty rulers, and I followed Apollos lead, also bowing before them. A hushed whisper ran through the crowd behind us and more than once I heard the term, god killer, thrown around. Yup, this was going to be just great.

"My son, Apollo and his bride from the earth realm. Elise the Hunter!" Zeus declared. A polite applause followed the introduction and as Zeus nodded at us, we turned to face everyone and bowed to them too. "A dance!"

Again the crowd parted for us and Apollo led me towards the now vacant space. The trio of women on the harps in the opposite corner of the room instantly began to play something that sounded like a slow, waltz ready version of Blue River. Distracted, I didn't even realise we were now swaying around the dance floor; his hand on the small of my back, mine on his shoulder and Apollo lead the way.

"I can't dance like this." I whispered.

"You can, and you are. Just go with it." Apollo instructed, so I did.

It was actually kind of fun, and since we were 'in love', looking into his eyes helped drown out everything else, including the other dancers that now swirled and moved around us. That was until one woman, loudly and rudely spoke behind us.

"She doesn't look that impressive. I thought she was, taller, in the arena. How did she defeat the beast?"

"I heard she was brainwashed by The Fallen One." Her partner had the decency to whisper back.

Since I couldn't move to confront them, I turned my head and met her gaze; the same rush that had my hands glowing earlier now vibrated through my body and I don't know what she saw on my face, but she gasped and quickly looked away.

"Your eyes are glowing." Apollo moved so we were cheek to cheek. "Deep breath. Calm down. People will talk, let them. Soon they shall something to really gossip about."

"Do you think he will be a better leader than Zeus, are we really doing the right thing?" I asked softly.

"Yes. The things he does, not just to Others, but all who live here, he can't go on. His temper is his downfall. He has destroyed cities in a rage; killed with no reason. One of Artemis's huntresses was murdered because she had red hair and for that day, everyone altered their appearance to keep him happy. He has done much worse Elise. Much."

"Why hasn't one stopped him? With enough of you-"

"Because we are not strong enough. Each of us has our area of expertise, but we also have our weakness. Since he came to rule, any favours he gave out came at a cost. Now that I think about it, Old Buluc must have done something for him to have been sent to your world." He mused, as if only just realising that. "But enough about that. Drink?"

"No. I want to keep a clear head."

"Good call." We end up leaving the dancing crowd behind and as we move towards the dining table, others are doing the same.

All the plates, cups and cutlery are gold, which isn't really a surprise. "If gold is the one thing that can hurt and kill you, why have it everywhere?"

"Hera thinks of herself as truly indestructible so likes to keep it on display. Doubt she'd feel the same way if you shoved a fork in her eye."

"Is that a challenge?"

He grinned. "Maybe later."

"Well this is a lovely surprise. Here I was, thinking I'd been summoned for something dull. Instead, I find myself discussing the bride to be and a guest at a wedding set to rival Will and Kate's!" The overly happy London accent threw me for a second before I turned to see the Bee King. He opened his arms and pulled me over for a hug. "Let's hope the bride doesn't lose her head, hey?"

"You were summoned?" Apollo asked cautiously.

"Indeed. All were called back home for this." He happily gulped his wine. "So, you've turned against the Fallen One, Hunter. I should have expected that, so my alliance sways again."

"What?" I ask.

"I go with the winning side. I've been around too long to be caught up in politics, and I've seen you in action. If you're with the big guy, I'm not stupid and will too. Is it true you're the only one who can defeat him?"

"Oh. Right. Yes, that's me." I glanced at Apollo who simply shrugged.

"Good call with picking sides."

No, it was a bad call, but there was something on his face that told me enough. He wanted the bee god to be on the wrong side when the battle started. Last time these two met, Logan had been sent home and I'd gone on to fight Buluc, so was this some kind of payback? If so, I understood it, but didn't like it - hopefully once everything got started, Muz would feel differently about where his loyalties lay. Again.  Not only that, hopefully Apollo would be too busy to remember it.

Yet what if that wasn't what this was about? A flicker of doubt returned, and I quickly nodded - agreeing with Apollo. If he already was on Zeus's payroll, maybe this was just a way to get some evidence to prove I needed to be removed from the equation. It was becoming too much and my head was starting to hurt.

"Dinner is about to be served. If they have it, try the unicorn. Nothing else compares." Muz moved away, waving at a half goat, half man not too far from us.

"Okay, unicorn? And what is that?" I try not to stare, but since Muz is acting like that guy is his long lost best friend, goat man doesn't notice.

"We still have herds of unicorn here. It's kind of like lamb, but sweeter and that is known as a Faun. Pan probably invited them. He always invites them!" He complains. "We won't sit near them."

"Okay?"

"They take after their goat side more than the human."

"Right." Just when I thought things couldn't get any stranger.

Suddenly the trumpets sound again and this time, Zeus strides forward to where everyone had just been dancing. Apollo takes my hand, his face serious as we inch forward to join the bulk of the guests.

"Before we start the great feast, I call upon one of our Elders, for his guidance and knowledge." A few people gasp, others look angry while some shuffle past us to get closer to outside of the group - ready to make a run for the exits. Now it's easy to spot the Zeus loyalists because they are the few who are clapping. "As you know, Elise the Hunter is known by another name. God Killer. Come here, girl." I glance at Logan who moves forward with me, only as we break the circle, he stops and drops my hand.

"I can't take any chances you won't do something, foolish, to keep your bride." Zeus sneers. Apollo is frozen in place, and those near him step away, except for Artemis who makes her appearance at his side.

"Really father, is that necessary?" She looks bored and Zeus ignores her.

As I reach Zeus, I shiver under the gaze of Hera and glance around trying to see a friendly face. I find Hades, who is standing near Hermes. and both men are frowning in concentration, looking between myself, Zeus and the twins.; hopefully ready to spring into action if things turn to shit.

"To ensure the affects of the Fallen One are no more, I call the wisest of us to pass his judgement, my Sire. Cronus." Now everyone, even his fans freeze and looking at Zeus, he smirks down at me. "If you have anything to hide human, it is too late for you to run now."

"Why would I want to? I'm exactly where I want to be." I smile sweetly up him. "I have nothing to fear."

"We shall see."

The anxiety and fear in the room mixed with the floral scent already present, making me feel nauseous. It was barely a minute before the golden doors swung open once more, but this time the trumpets didn't blast us with the news of a new arrival. They didn't have to. The grunts of the creatures pulling a chariot was loud enough and I was speechless at the sight of the cyclops. They were big, as tall as Zeus with bald heads, orange skin and a bright blue eye that darted from left to right, up and down. Well, tonight was full of surprises. There was six of them in total, and since Zeus didn't step back as they got closer and closer, I didn't either.

No fear.

No weakness.

Then there was Cronus and I nearly laughed. The big, bad god-father himself, looked like sad, shop Santa. His beard was patchy, white and grey. His frame was clearly thin, his cheeks sunken and so were his eyes. The red coat he had on didn't help my first impression of him being a Santa and yet no one in room seemed to move.

"This is what threatens us so?" The voice didn't match the body. It was deep, rough and powerful. "I feel my time is wasted. Bring me the Fallen One!"

"She seeks to join us as an ally." Zeus lowered his gaze, his voice becoming lighter as if even he was scared of this guy. "A bonding with Apollo has been suggested."

Cronus glanced towards Apollo and with a gasp, he could move again. Well, that's one less thing to worry about or was until the old god got off his ride and came to stand before us. His knees clicked with each step and bony fingers stayed as fists by his side.

"Let's make sure you're not a horse, deceiving, rats." He mumbled, his words turning foreign as he went along.

Before I could think of anything to say, he was there in my head. I could feel his hold like a cold hand touching the back of my neck, digging deeper and deeper in until I saw Logan and I's first meeting, our first stupid night together, us fighting, reuniting, right up until I thought he had been taken. At this rate, he'd see everything - our plan, the truth, yet the unease gave way to relief, when I found him as we battled the Warlocks. Then of pure, complete bliss as we lazed around in Fiji before I was back to tonight and he held my hand as we came in. It wasn't just me looking at him as we danced, but he was looking at me too, and again, the familiar comfort of being safe, of being in love made me smile.

Then it was all gone and a few slow blinks later, I was back to staring at Cronus, while Zeus was practically peeing himself in anticipation of hearing what was about to said. So was I - did he see more than I saw him see?

"She will make a fine ally. We will use her to not only lure the Fallen One, but her Fate Sisters too." Cronus declared enthusiastically.

The sounds of champagne bottles popping, fireworks and cheer from the people around us made me feel sick. They were celebrating for nothing, weren't they?

"Elise the Hunter, once we have secured our targets. You will die."

Wait, what? "Excuse me?"

Zeus paused mid-leap as a deathly silence took control of the room once more. "What are you saying?"

"If she lives, the threat she poses to your rule will outweigh the benefit of keeping her here." Cronus shrugged. "I am but an old man, you seek my guidance, and I gave it. Now let me rest in peace without more of your petulant behavior; I tire of it."

 "You dare speak to me-"

"Pretty sure he just did." I add helpfully.

Cronus merely huffed and shuffled back to his chariot. "You took everything from me. I merely hope you know how that feels one day."

Zeus roared. Literally opened his mouth and roared. Seconds later Cronus threw his coat off and the thin old man grew; transforming until he was larger than his cyclops. Instantly they all produced spears of their own, and rage was turning Zeus's face red. Maybe we wouldn't need to do anything if these two were about to kill each other for us.

"I gave you freedom! Remember to whom you speak!" Zeus screamed at him. "Respect me!"

"No more!" Cronus yelled back. "I only agreed to watch you fall."

"Elise!" Artemis called, waving me over.

I wasn't going anywhere. The second I went to move, the cyclops moved to block me and despite thinking of going to them, I couldn't zap myself over there. No one expected this to happen. If Cronus was the one behind all of this, clearly management was having a few issues right now.

"You know the Fallen One is his favorite son right?" I called out to Zeus.

He spun around to look at me and his eyes burned red. That couldn't be good, and a lightning bolt appeared in his hand. Yup, definitely not good.

"Your little friend told me all about it, he was happy to talk about your Daddy issues. Right before I killed him." I taunted now.

The bolt was thrown at me with the same accuracy as what Artemis fired her arrows and without even thinking about it, my hands shot up to cover my face and the glow from them dropped down like a shield and reflected it.

"Kill them and any who stand on their side!" Zeus ordered.

I glanced at Cronus and it appeared we were about to join the same team. Instantly my dress changed to my usual gear, my sword in one hand, dagger in another. The cyclops didn't stop me now, but assisted as some of the more human looking people transformed into monsters I hadn't seen before or even dreamed of and came towards us.

"Are you actually insane?" Hermes scolded appearing beside me.

There was no time to answer as suddenly the ground began to tremble. Apollo was with us just as I nearly lost my footing. "Is this an earthquake?"

Some people screamed in fear, rushing to the exits. Others decided to join the fight, and it was only me who seemed to notice the ground was shaking.

"It's Triton." Artemis pointed out and a man stood by the thrones with a giant fork in his hands, banging it on the ground.

"Triton; like Ariel's dad?" Artemis and Hermes looked at me blank faced as Apollo produced a sword and stabbed something green and slimy that came too close to us. "Clearly Alfie didn't show you all the good movies."

"Not the time Bunny!" He called, facing off against more green things.

Hades appeared then, helping him only all he did was blow his breath towards a couple of them and they dried up into corpses instantly.

Artemis produced her bow, and taking aim knocked the fork out of the sea kings hand. The earthquake stopped in time for the windows along that side of the wall to smash as water came rushing in. It was then another of the Powers moved into action, standing before the water and with raised hands, he turned it all back. That was how it went from then on. It was Power against Power; what ever one did, another stopped. Minions of who knows who, kept coming at me; well us, my new friends keeping as close to me as they could.

Hades seemed to inflict an instant death by a touch of his breath, his skin or I swear even a look he gave one of the demons turned it to dust. Artemis never ran out of arrows, Hermes always had her back with his staff stick thing that he used with the skill of a ninja and then there was me with my sword. Plus I had my new handy powers to zap around the place with and predict my opponents next strike.

I'd never fought like this before. I felt alive, I felt whole - I felt invincible.

That was until I found myself being thrown outside and before I could get up, someone had hold of my hair - using it to pull me up onto my feet. Aphrodite. Her nails had turned into claws and as she went to swipe at my throat, I turned invisible. Despite the fact she had hold of my hair, she let go - looking around confused.

"Show yourself witch!" She snarled.

So I did, sending a kick directly to her stomach a second later. "What happened to you being a lover, not a fighter?"

"What did you do to Apollo? He has come back, different, and is now willing to turn against his sire! Never did I-"

"Really, that surprises you? Didn't Zeus go against Cronus and, I'm pretty sure one of you freaks ate your own babies?" I dodged her fist and as she slipped past, grabbed some of her hair; roughly pulling it too until she lashed out and cuts my arm so I am forced to let her go.

With a screech she charges again and it's sad how terrible her skills her. Unfortunately, my vision of hair pulling, scratching and yelling at each other seems to have come to life and as I kick her again, she tumbles into the mini-mermaid fountain. Turns out they're not that different to their larger cousins and turn feral, like sharks, biting the Power like a dog would a new bone.

"Good luck with that." I leave her there to work it out on her own and checking my arm, I'm pretty happy with how her claw marks are already disappearing.

Looking back towards where we had just come from, cyclones fight fireballs, water smothers them both and lightning sparks all over the sky like a summer storm. Some figures fly out the windows, stuck in wrestling battles, while trees extend from the nearby gardens and grab any who dare move to close to them. No one seems to be winning, well no one except for the Powers are the lesser creatures appear to be the ones getting injuries or dying.

"Quite a sight isn't it?" Cain asks, appearing beside me. "You okay?"

"Oh I'm fine. Should I help her?"

We look behind us to where Aphrodite is trying to climb out of the fountain, her wailing pitiful as the tiny monsters keep pulling her back in.

"No, she'll work it out." He muses.

"I thought it would be different to this, like Warlock kind of bad only worse." I tell him as Portia joins us.

"It hasn't started yet, Hunter." She sighs sadly.

"Yes it has? Zeus and Cronus are trying to kill each other. They're doing all the hard work and look at these guys. It's like a competition of egos, I'd hate to see you guys playing Monopoly."

"Portia is right. As bad as this may be, I've seen worse disputes over the seating plan at one of Hera's formal dinner nights."

"What?" He has to be joking.

"Did you at least enjoy yourself tonight?" Cain asks.

"I never got to try the unicorn."

"Shame. It's a specialty in these parts." He smiles before looking at Portia and nodding. She disappears so it's just us, and through the night, I faintly hear my name being called. "Thank you for being the distraction. You did good, Hunter."

"The distraction?" I ask stupidly.

"You really didn't listen to my plan at all did you?"

"I cant believe you don't know me enough by now, to know I don't do plans." I'm waiting for the punchline, for the others to appear and tell us its over and Cain can go and claim his throne. I'm expecting him to laugh, or something, but instead, he is calm yet serious and that's terrifying because it's when he is like this that he at his most dangerous.

"Don't fight Apollo. He'll keep you safe and depending on the outcome, either bring you back so we can discuss the future or return you home and ensure no one from this world will follow you. This is not your fight anymore." Cain disappears and just as I go to presumably follow him inside, Apollo and Artemis take Cain's place.

"Come on, before they notice we're missing." Artemis instructs.

"Hang on." Apollo says and I'm too in shock to stop him from locking a golden handcuff around my wrist, and he puts the other on his. "Okay, we're good to go."

In the blink of an eye, we're at a bridge in the forest. A river gently runs below us and as Artemis moves into the darkness to presumably go under the bridge, the wood panels creak and groan with age. Apollo and I just wait there, and tugging on my wrist, he sways slightly since I caught him off balance.

"So, what is happening right now? This isn't some, kinky part of that whole bonding thing you were all on about before is it? Cause that isn't actually happening. Ever."

"Never say never." He mumbles sarcastically, keenly watching where Artemis vanished. "We're keeping you safe. Art and I figured this would be the best place to do that until we know how tonight ends."

"But, the fight? What about Cain?"

"He has enough help back there, not that I think he'll need it. We agreed from the second you arrived you'd be kept away from the bulk of the danger."

"You did? And when did that all happen exactly?" Was it while I was taking all day in the bath;  I wouldn't do that again if it meant some people got to make decisions for me that I could easily do for myself.

"No. The night you arrived."

"You were who he went to see? Then why did he punch you for being Logan?"

"He only worked that out after you came to me. Artemis arranged our meeting, and Hades. It's when we worked out most of what we were going to do." He sounded almost guilty about it all.

"All clear." Artemis called and carefully following her voice, we entered a door in the base of the bridge and started down a thin, narrow staircase that would have been easier to navigate if I wasn't stuck with one hand being pulled behind me.

"Trolls!" I blurted as we entered a room at the bottom of the stairs. "I mean, hello!"

I'd never seen a troll before. Their pug like faces scrunched up unimpressed with my greeting, and I didn't miss the fangs that stuck out from their fat lower lip.

"We prefer, bridge people." One with floppy, dog like ears grunted.

"Right. Sorry." I answered, looking away so I didn't stare. I'm pretty sure trolls were all about grinding up bones to make bread or something and that wasn't how I wanted my night to end.

"She is new to this land, I apologise is she has offended you." Artemis soothed. "Thank you for your offer of refuge."

"So long as the Lightning King is killed, we are happy to assist you Huntress." Another answered.

Their breathing wasn't easy to listen to as a chorus of snorting, wheezing sounds left them. So far I counted five, yet we were only in one room and there at least eight tunnels leading off into darkness. Even if I could get this stupid cuff off, I had no idea where to go. There was always teleporting, but my new pal I called Gut Instinct, told me that wasn't an option.

After awkward small talk, and a quick get to know you session, we were offered a place to sit and the three of us sat obediently. Trolls gathered around us as if we were about to be contestants on a quiz show and from what I saw and could understand from the conversation, the older females were the dominant ones. The males did as they asked, mindless as they went about their tasks and when the oldest looking one noticed the fact Apollo and I were stuck together, her eyes never really left us. Food was offered and declined, as was the water and eventually only two trolls remained, their clothes mold infested and blue skin oozing something that dropped onto the floor around them; so it was no surprise my companions had been quick to say no to their offerings.

"Can we, sleep here?" I asked Apollo with a slightly over the top yawn and hand stretch that only highlights the cuff some more. "Adrenaline has gone from before. I'm knackered."

"Of course! I'll show you to your room." A little female wheezed and following her slow, shuffling steps we were taken down one of the passages. which to my surprised was covered in rubies and gems.

"We'll know if you steal one. Look with your eyes only!" She snapped up at me.

"Okay." I quickly agreed and as Apollo went to lead me into what was apparently our room, I stopped. "I'm not sleeping with you."

"One night isn't going to hurt and it's not as though we haven't before."

"That was when I didn't hate you." I glared at him.

"No deal. Go in or we can just stay out there all night. Sleep on the floor for all I care!" He argued.

"Fine." I went move back down the hall only to be stopped by our guide.

"You go in."

"Not with him. Do you understand, I am a prisoner. See this?" I held up the cuff. "I can't stay in there alone with on!"

"he Huntress told us they were to keep you all safe?" She narrowed her eyes. "The new king demanded it?"

"They lied. He wouldn't-"

"Don't start this Elise." Apollo warned, accidentally tugging on my arm as he folded his.

"She is simply trying to free herself to try and help Cain. Being from the other realm, she would be only a distraction and increase his chances of being defeated" Artemis joined in, trying to reassure our host. "We are doing the right thing keeping her here."

"Handcuffed and being forced to share a bed with him?" I retort, turning away from everyone. "This realm is medieval. I wish I had never come here!"

Covering my eyes with my free hand, I took a few sobbing breaths and I didn't need to see Apollo to know he had just rolled his eyes.

"Clearing someones acting skills have improved since coming here. Please Priestess. Do not believe her. She knows she is safe from me and-" Apollo's voice raised with his frustrations, startling the troll.

Things only got worse for them when I started to cry.

"Remove her restraints. We need to talk. In private!" The older troll demanded as she appeared down the other end of the passage. Three males stood behind her and while I had on idea what they could actually do to us, I didn't want to cross them and find out.

"Do it, but lock her in that room." Artemis glared at me as Apollo took off the cuff and pushed me in a little too roughly.Out of sight I smirked at him, and the look on his face told me enough. When this was over, I was going to be in so much trouble.

"Elise, this isn't like any other time. This is serious. Stay. Here." He warned.

"Where else could I go? I'm being locked in!" I cried, moving to collapse on the bed.

"Calm yourself. You are safe here." The one who had led us here assured me and as she turned her back to close the door, Logan stood in my view glaring at me. The little wave I gave him as the door slammed shut probably didn't help his mood right now.

"I know her. She is going to leave!" Apollo snapped at them outside the door. "Everything she just said, is a lie. She wants to escape to fight, but she isn't from our world. She is just a human. You've surely heard stories of them?"

"Now who is lying?" Came the reply. "Do not try and intimidate us son of Zeus. We like to remain neutral in regards to you Powers, but do not think we fear you! You want her safe. We keep her safe, even if that means from those who deliver her into our care."

"She is also a criminal! If you're missing rubies later, don't blame me!" He sulked. His argument was stupid; why would I steal their rubies?

I flopped back down onto the small bed and began to sob, loud and obnoxiously. The groan of frustration made me smile and as the door creaked open, I kept my head buried into the pillow.

"She weeps because of you! Are you a man because you scare an innocent girl? There is much to discuss, and doing so here only has you scaring her further!" A male voice scolded, leaving no room for argument.

"Trust me, she isn't scared and that is fake. Go in there and check her eyes. She isn't crying and ow!" Apollo shut up.

"Just do what they want brother. She can't go anywhere here anyway." Artemis sighed in defeat.

I waited until their footsteps vanished and their voices weakened down the other end of the hall. Peeking out the door, it was dark and I was alone. Perfect. A few unsuccessful tries later, I was starting to think they weren't kidding about the no leaving thing. What was the point of being able to zap myself anywhere and not do it?

Giving it another go, I made myself invisible first and put every thought I had into thinking of only Olympus. It took a few more tries, but I was soon surrounded by cold night air and grinning, I felt pretty damn happy with myself. It didn't last too long because as I started to walk, my legs felt like they were made of led. Maybe gravity changed, or maybe the trolls did something to stop people from leaving. If that was the case, I was screwed.

Luckily a few minutes later, what ever was happening wore off, and by that time I knew for sure that this place was now deserted. It was quiet, peaceful and any signs of destruction had vanished. Moving to the throne room, everything was how it had been that afternoon when I first arrived. So where did everyone go?

"Okay." I mumbled to myself, trying to think of what to do next.

"They've moved on. Do you have any idea what you've done, bringing the Fallen One here?" Aphrodite appeared behind me and turning around, tiny bite marks hadn't yet left her exposed skin and her dress was torn and ruined.

"Where did they go?"

"Where all great battles happen."

I thought about it for a second. "The arena?"

"No stupid. The battle ground."

"You actually have one of those?"

"Don't you?" She asked confused.

"No."

"I suppose I'll show you, but I want no part in this war."

"Sorry about before." I say as she touches my arm.

"It's nothing. I'll heal. At least you didn't cut off my hair like Hera once did." She paused then, her eyes widening slightly. "Please, don't do that."

"Promise I won't."

Seconds later I understood what Cain and Portia had meant when they told me what had been going on earlier was nothing, because this now, was everything. From my vantage point on the ridge, there was no telling Power from Power, no sign of who was winning. Lightning to my right had me looking over and seeing Cain go against Cronus and Zeus on his own left no doubt in my mind where I had to be.

"What are you doing here?" He screamed at me, bringing up a shield to dodge the lightning bolt that was thrown directly at us.

"You looked like you needed some help."

"Get out of here Hunter. This isn't you fight!" Cain ordered.

"You're wrong. It's been mine for as long as it's been yours!"

My hands began to glow and I stepped away from Cain, letting my powers do what they wanted and a ball of light was suddenly flying through the air and hitting Zeus. Cain went to saying, but didn't, yet as our eyes met, he knew I was right. Despite not existing when this started, I had always been involved - ever since the beginning when Cain was banished to my world. None of the past mattered anymore; there was only the here and now.

Together, we could end it once and for all.
