Chapter 6

Victoria's POV

"So what happens now?" I asked Jaydan after a while of just talking and catching up.

"I guess I have to finish my mission. After my mission is done I will talk to my boss James, he was the guy that trained me those two years that I were here. He is like a second father to me. I'm sure he'll understand," Jaydan said.

"Are you sure this is what you want?" I asked him.

"You remember that first night when we met and you asked me what I wanted to become?" Jay asked.

"Yes, I do," I said. I remember that night as clear as day.

"Well I think I was wrong. Being here these last few weeks made me realise that it wasn't what I wanted to do with my life. I thought that maybe I just needed to get used to my new life, but when I saw you in that café, I knew I could never get used to this life. I want a life with you. I want to be with you." He said.

"So the plan is, you finish your mission, convince your boss to let you leave and we go home, and we get married, if you still want to marry me," I said.

"Of course I do, there is no one else I would rather want to be with. And I think I have something that belongs to you," he said as he went to his suitcase and took out a ring case. He opened it and handed me the ring.

"This ring will always belong to you," he said. And I placed it back on my finger where it belonged. I grabbed Jay in a hug.

"I love you," I whispered and I knew that we were going to be together soon...

It's been a few weeks since I've been with Jay once again. We spent every spare second he had either in my room or his. As we spent more time together it just felt like were weren't even apart and I couldn't wait to get home. But before we could go home Jay had to finish his mission.

He spent most of his time working on his case and I sometimes helped him. It was a very interesting case and it brought many memories back. It felt like old times, but for the first time I wanted a case to be over with. I wanted to go back home and get on with our life. We spent enough time apart and I couldn't wait for our life together to start.

I was in Jay's room reading a book while I waited for him to return. This was like a holiday for me and Jay often complained that he wished he could join in my relaxation, but I kept reminding that the sooner he wrapped up his mission the sooner we can get home.

The door suddenly burst open and a very excited Jaydan stepped inside.

"I guess you have good news?" I asked a I went over to greet him. He gave me a huge grin before he picked me up and spun me around.

"Amazing news! I finally collected all the evidence and proof I need. Now all I need to do is submit it to James and we can go home," I let out an excited shout as I kissed him. We were finally heading home and I couldn't wait to get back.

Jaydan's POV

Excitement coursed through my veins as I clutched the folder with all my research I had done the last few week. This folder was our ticket home and I couldn't wait to board the first plane out of here.

I headed to my boss, James', office in the DF's headquarters. I couldn't wait to hand over this file and to get out of here. Once I reached his door I knocked twice before I was granted entrance.

"Ah Jaydan my boy, done with your mission so soon?" He asked as I stepped into his office closing the door behind me.

"Yes sir, I guess I was motivated," I answered.

"That is great, let's see what you got," he said and I handed him the folder before I took a seat across from him.

He hummed here and there as he looked through all the evidence we had gathered on him.

"This is exceptional work, Jaydan. You did good. Now we can put this scum behind bars for good," he said as he closed the folder and placed it to one side.

"Thank you sir," I replied.

"Now are you ready for your next assignment?" He asked excitedly.

"Actually sir, there was something that I needed to discuss with you. I was thinking of heading back home. I thought that this job was the right one for me, but it isn't," I explained.

"I see. This doesn't have anything to do with Victoria Wills who arrived in town a few weeks ago, does it?" He asked.

"Victoria came here to find me. And we both realised that we love each other too much to let each other go. We want to go home," I said.

"Jaydan you are one of the best men in the field. You've shown an exceptional talent for this job the first time you arrived here. I don't think the DF would be wise to let you go," he said.

"What does that mean, sir?" I asked.

"It means you have two choices. Either you get rid of Victoria, by sending her home where she will live her life happily or we get rid of her in a more permanent way."

"Is that a threat?" I asked as anger coursed through my veins.

"No, it is the simple facts, make your decision wisely. You're dismissed." He said as he continued with his work not sparing me a glance. This was not how we planned this to go.

Victoria's POV

Jaydan left a few hours ago to go talk to his boss and I was waiting patiently for him to return. I could only hope that he would return with good news and that we would be on the first flight out of here.

London was a beautiful city, but I longed for some sunshine. I wanted to go home. I missed everyone and I missed my old life.

I heard footsteps and I knew it was Jaydan. I was very excited and just as he opened the door I peppered him with questions.

"How was it? Should we start packing? When are we-" my questions were cut short when I took in Jaydan features. He didn't look as happy as he did this morning. Something told me that the meeting didn't go as we planned it to go.
