The ride home was a short one. Kevin was just giving Avi time to warm up some. "So where's your coat?" Kevin ask. "My brother Scott has it," Avi explained,"He's growing like a weed and has just about outgrown everything he's got." Kevin smiled and nodded. They soon pulled up in the drive-way of their home. Kevin put the car in park but left it running. Avi had his hands in front of the vents trying to thaw out his fingers.

"So," Avi began, "I'm sure Mr. Wilson has already told you everything about my pathetic life. Now you tell me something about Kevin."

Kevin smiled shaking his head, "Not much to tell really, My name is Kevin Olusola, I'm 27 and I live in a beach house in Galveston."

"A beach house?" questioned Avi raising his eyebrows, "You live in a freaking beach house and you end up in Springwater? Are you nuts??" Kevin laughs, "I know, crazy right?"

Avi loved Kevin's laugh. It made him smile. "So are you married?" "Nope", Kevin answered quickly.

O.K., next question, careful Avi. "Girlfriend??"

"No, no girlfriend," Kevin smiles shaking his head. "Uh, Avi? I don't mean to make you uncomfortable or anything but I'm gay."

"Really?" Avi questioned with raised brows. "Interesting" he mumbled with a small smile while looking out the side window to see if the bus was coming yet.

"Did you say something?" asked Kevin. "Uh, no. But you don't need to let anyone here in town know that you are gay. You might just end up dead. There was a guy that I had gone to school with that came out and a week later they found him beat to death under the high school bleachers."

About that time the school bus pulled up in front of the house. "The kids are home," Avi said sadly knowing he would have to tell them the bad news of no more credit. "Would you like to meet them?" he asked. Kevin smiled, "I would love to."

A beautiful young girl with long blonde hair got off the bus first. Kevin looked at Avi, "Kirstie, I presume?" Avi smiled, "Yep, that's my Sissy." he said proudly.

A small thin boy with black hair was next. "Mitch?" Kevin asked. Avi smiled and nodded. 'Dang what a beautiful smile' Kevin thought. "Yep, that's Mitchell." He could almost hear Mitch now complaining about having to eat beans again tonight.

Last but certainly not least, a tall boy with blonde hair and blue eyes gets off the bus. "So then, that must be Scott. Good looking kid. Bet he's a real ladies man." Kevin said smiling. Avi smirked as he open the car door to get out, "If you only knew."

"BIG DADDY!!" yelled Mitch as he ran across the yard towards his brother's opened arms.

"QUE.... Uh, Mitchell," Avi answers as Mitch jumps into his arms with Kirstie following close behind. 

Kevin couldn't help but notice the close bond between the siblings. Being an only child, he could only imagine how it felt. He actually envied them. Watching them as they hugged each other as if they hadn't seen each other in months.

Scott slowly walked up to the others, smiling seeing the two younger ones smothering their older brother with hugs.

"So, how was your day?" he asked, his eyes meeting Avi's. It was like he could read his brother's mind and knew the outcome of his day. His smile quickly vanished.

"So?" Mitch smiled as he pulled out of the hug, "Did you get some groceries?" Avi sighed rubbing his tired eyes, "Mitch..." Mitch's smile fading, "He wouldn't do it, would he." "Mitch" Avi started again trying to come up with the best words to say.

At that time Scott notices Kevin standing quietly by his car. "Uh, Avi? Who's your friend?" Saving his brother from an embarrassing situation.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. This is Kevin. He gave me a ride from town. He's from Galveston." Avi said.

Scott walked up to Kevin extending his hand, "Please to meet you Kevin." "Like wise", Kev said shaking Scott's hand. He then looked at the other two who were staring at him with big sad eyes.

He turned to Avi who was standing quietly beside him deep in thought with tears in his eyes. "Hey, Avi?" he said lightly rubbing the young man on his back. "I have a surprise for you, well I should say all of you." Looking at the younger two siblings, who looked at each other gave a high-five when they heard the word 'surprise'.

He chuckled as he headed to the trunk of his car with the others following close behind. He popped open the trunk, there inside was a huge box packed high with groceries.

"HOLY SHIT!!!" screamed Mitch. "MITCH!!" scolded Scott. Mitch and Kirstie started digging thru the box to see what was all in it while Avi and Scott stood in complete shock.

Suddenly Kirstie screamed pulling out a box of spaghetti noodles. "OH MY GOD!!! LOOK AVI!! SPAGHETTI!!!" Avi smiles and nods with tears in his eyes.

"HELL YEAH!! NO BEANS TONIGHT!!" Mitch yells while giving Kirstie another high-five. Scott rolls his eyes, "Mitch watch your mouth." He scolds again.

Avi looks at Kevin with tears rolling down his cheeks and grabs him into a hug. "Thank-you, you didn't have to do this." he whispered. Sobbing quietly.

"I know," Kevin managed to say despite the lump in his throat, giving Avi a tight hug and rubbing him on his back.

Avi released Kevin turning around to the others with Kevin'a arm still around his shoulder. Wiping the tears from his face he ask, "Guys, what are you suppose to say?"

Before any one has time to answer, Mitch turns around facing Kevin. Putting a hand on his hip he asked, "Are you gay? Cause Avi needs a boyfriend."

"MITCHELL!!!" the other three screams in unison.
