By the time they got back to Kevin's place the sun was coming up. He pulled into the parking place and cut the car off.

He looked at Avi sitting in the passenger seat. His head leaned back against the head rest with his red puffy eyes closed and his mouth slightly opened.

He then looked at the other three sitting in the back seat. Scott's head was rested on the window, his eyes closed in sleep. Kirstie was snuggled up to his side fast asleep and Mitch had his head on her shoulder asleep also.

He couldn't help but smile a little at the four exhausted kids. They had been thru Hell. But they'll make it. And they'll make it together.

Kevin reached over and patted Avi on the leg, "Hey, Sweetie. Wake up." Avi's eyes popped open and he jumped at looked at Kevin startled. Kevin reached up and rubbed him on the cheek. "You're O.K.,  you guys can go in and lay down and take a nap if you want. I know you all are exhausted."

Avi nodded the looked at his siblings asleep in the back seat. He reached between the seats and patted Scott on the leg. "Hey, Scotty. Wake up. We're at Kevin's."

When Scott woke up it started a chain reaction. It woke Kirstie up which woke up Mitch. They yawned and stretched and looked around trying to see where they were.

Kevin had gotten out of the car and was now talking to Mr. Wilson who had came out of the store when he saw them drive up. In his arms he had a bag full of packs of doughnuts, Honey Buns and other goodies for the kids to eat. He also had a gallon of milk and some paper cups.

When Avi got out of the car, Mr wilson handed the bags to Kevin then grabbed Avi into a hug. He told him he was so sorry about what happened but was just thankful that no one was hurt. He hugged each of the kids as they got out of the car. He headed back inside the store but not before telling Kevin that if he needed anything just let him know.

They went inside and Kevin set the bags on a small table. "You kids get you something to eat and drink. Then when you are done I want you to do something for me."

They all stopped what they were doing and looked at Kevin with puzzled faces. Kevin smiled as he looked at their dirty faces. "Well, eat first and then I'll tell you."

Mitch grabbed the bag and started handing out the pastries. Kirstie poured them all a glass of milk.

While they eat kevin found some paper and a pen. He wrote each of their names down on the paper. Then waited until they were thru filling their empty bellies.....
