The gamemakers let Glimmer keep the ring with a poisonous spike on it to make the games more interesting.

Later on the arena, when Katniss tries to take the bow out of Glimmer's hand, she accidentally touches the poison spike and dies.

Glimmer becomes the first tribute to kill someone while being dead.

Later, Peeta bleeds out to death by the river.

Rue meets with Foxface and they decide to form an alliance.
The two becomes friends for couple of days.

One day, Thresh sees Foxface and Rue together and immediately thinks that Foxface is going to kill her.
He then kills Foxface by smashing her head.
Rue yells at Thresh for killing his ally and runs away.
But then she runs into Marvel who kills her with a spear.

That night Thresh sees Rue's face on the sky and kills himself because of guilt.

This left Cato, Clove and Marvel on the arena.
The mutts enter and kill Marvel.
Cato and Clove then fight on the top of the Cornucopia and Clove manages to cut his throat.

Clove then becomes the victor of 74th Hunger Games and the rebellion never happens.
