Chapter 8: He Knows

Taylee

His words bring a craving for something I know nothing about to the area between my legs. I don't know what that says about me, and quite frankly, right now I really don't care. There's a huge part of me that wants to give in to these wants I'm hungry for.

Biting my bottom lip, I give him a sultry look with my eyes. I kind of enjoy the big gulp I see he has to take, as his throat bobs up and down. Looking away, I do what I can to hide my very obvious smile.

"No, no, no..." he brings his hand to my face, pulling it back to him. "I want to see everything. All the emotions, every secret you keep, I want it all." He stares deep into my eyes at everything he just unveiled to me.

I have to think for a moment, if that is something I can really do with him. I have a lot of secrets, and many I don't think he'd be able to handle. In actuality, I'm certain he'd have me committed with what I would have to say.

"You can trust me." He whispers, moving his body closer to mine. Normally, when someone does that, crowds me, and comes into my space it sets me off into a panic. I'm shocked when it comes to him how I never feel that way.

When Maximus does it, I feel well cared for, almost dare I say cherished. "I want to tell you things..." I look away from him for a brief moment, to collect my thoughts.

When I look back in his direction, I can see him staring at me, looking at me as though I am the only woman in his entire world. Nodding my head, I wordlessly give him my answer. Without a moments hesitation, he's reaching for my hand, and pulling me behind him.

For every step the man takes, I have to take two. He has much longer legs than me. I can't help but watch his amazing ass from this close behind him as he walks. All the things I want him to do to me, that I have been imagining for months, hits me like a brick wall.

Then, it dawns on me. I never tell him where I live, but a quick five-minute walk, two blocks around the corner, and here we are. He stops a foot in front of me, turning to look at me. Holding his hand out, I know what he's asking for.

Before I hand him my keys, I can't help but look from him to his hand, and back at my door. I hear a light laugh come from the mammoth before me, causing me to glare in his direction.

"I may have followed you home sometimes." He shrugs like it's not a big deal. "You work late into the night, can never be too careful." He tilts his head to the side, waiting to see if I'll reprimand him.

In all honesty, I really want to, but at the same time how can I argue with his reasoning? He wants to protect me. No one has ever wanted to do that in all my three hundred years of existence. That thought, of how old I truly am, has me second guessing this whole thing.

He must see the change in me, because instead of waiting for me to hand him my keys, he helps himself to my bag. Reaching his big hand inside, he pulls them out a second later, before I can say anything else.

Walking up the steps, he opens the door without a backward glance. Before I can close my mouth, from the shock of how familiar he's being with my space, he walks right in, holding the door open for me.

When I don't come to him right away, he casually leans his back against the door, waiting to see what I will do. The facts are, even though this is my home, at least for the time being, I can turn around and run.

Where I would go, I haven't a clue really. As the bar is now closed. I could go back to the diner, where we just were, but he would simply follow me. That's if he would even let me get that far to begin with.

Looking at this man, the one I have been thinking about for months now. The one looking at me, who is practically daring me to run from him, with only his eyes. I know he's a big guy, but something tells me he's fast too. I shouldn't underestimate him.

Knowing all that, I climb the three steps, stopping at the threshold, I look at him. He now has one eyebrow lifted, as he lifts his hand and waves me inside. Once I'm over the threshold of the door, he kicks the door closed his foot, and forces me backward until my ass hits my little table to the side.

Moving his arms on each side of me, he cages me in. I can hear his deep intake of breath through his nose before his eyes come to mine. "Good girl." He whispers a hairs breath away from my lips.

"Now that I have your attention, and finally alone. I think you and I need to have a long talk."

His words sound ominous, forcing me to gulp the fear right down my throat. "Talk about what exactly?" I'm almost afraid to ask the question.

I know he's been watching me for a while now. Observing me from his usual corner every single night at the bar. Studying me like I'm an equation he can't solve. Well, I got news for you buddy. There is a lot you don't know about me, and things you'll never truly understand.

I don't say any of this, of course, instead I stay silent. Sticking my chin out I look him dead in the eyes, telling him wordlessly I'm not afraid. I have faced many monsters in my long life. He's the least of my worries.
