After the party, Manik and Abhimanyu  go to drop Mukti and Nandini home. Manik cancels Nandini's leave and tells her to report to office next morning. Nandini gets upset with this but isn't surprised coz she knows how unpredictable Manik can get. Mrs Malhotra watches Manik from the window and asks Nandini later about Manik. Nandini goes non-stop about him and his rude, ruthless behavior. Mrs Malhotra realizes how much Manik and Nandini hate each other but wonders if they have a future together since very often the start of a new relationship is with hatred. Mrs Malhotra asks Mukti if she is happy with Abhimanyu  to which Mukti has no answer.
Next day, Mrs Malhotra gives a box full of 'malpua' to Nandini for her and her colleagues in office, which she offers to everyone, including Manik. Manik takes the entire box and asks her to get back to work. Just then, a girl comes rushing in office asking for Manik Malhotra . Nandini recognizes the girl as the one she had seen in the party and she was desperately trying to get someone to speak to her. Everyone is office is sure that Manik will throw the girl out since he hates women but they are all in for a big shock when he calls the reception and instructs that no one should disturb him as he is in an important private meeting. Nandini is shocked on hearing this

Nandini wonders who the girl would be when Manik comes in for a board room meeting. Just as he is about to start the meeting, he gets a call from the same girl and he adjourns the meeting to leave somewhere with her.
Nandini returns back home to find Mukti in a bad state. Nandini goes to the hospital to check on her fathers' medical reports when Abhimanyu  calls and she informs him about Mukti's ill health. Abhimanyu  immediately rushes to their place with medicines etc. and also makes special tea for her. Mukti is touched by this gesture but feels guilty at the same time that she won't be able to return the love that she is getting from Abhimanyu . However, Mrs Malhotra tells her that she is confident that Abhimanyu  will win her over and she will soon forget her past and move on.

Nandini goes to the hospital to meet the doctor and see her fathers' reports but by the time she reaches, they've already left with the reports. Just as she is moving out of the corridor, she hears a familiar voice coming out of a room. She investigates further and is surprised to see Manik with the same girl in the hospital. But what she hears after that takes her by storm. She hears Manik telling the girl that he is glad she isn't pregnant because he wouldn't have been able to send her abroad with the baby.

He also tells that she will get whatever she asks for, the only condition being that she has to keep her mouth shut. Nandini wonders what this entire conversation could mean, in different way

Nandini gets extremely upset on hearing the entire conversation between Manik and the girl. However, she is unable to understand why Manik's life and his relation with the other girl is affecting her so much.

She goes home to find her Badi Ma rehearsing a song. She also joins in and Badi Ma tells her that for the first time in so many years, she has sensed a feeling of pain in Nandini's voice. This feeling is so deep that it has added an extra element to her voice and has made it Nandini best piece of singing so far.

Nandini tells Badi Ma that she hates Manik more than ever since he is two-faced and majorly portrays double standards. Badi Ma tells her that hatred and love are two sides of the same coin. Sometimes excessive love can result into hatred and excessive hatred can also turn into love. Nandini pretends to have not understood anything and goes inside.
On the other hand, Manik is upset with the recent happenings in his life. However, he plans to deal with it the way his dad has taught him.

Next day in office, Manik fires someone for portraying a double standard. Nandini wonders why he is doing so when according to her; he himself is the epitome of being two-faced.  Nandini tries hard to concentrate on her work but in unable to do so. She breaks into tears and is unable to understand why she is crying. She has hated Manik from Day 1 and there is no reason he should affect her now.

Manik spots her crying and tells her that he never knew woman can cry as well. He always thought that they can only make others cry. He is somewhere moved by her tears and tells Mukti to give Nandini flowers; but not to tell her that they have been sent by Manik.
The flowers instantly cheer-up Nandini and she shows them off to Manik, not knowing that the flowers have been given by none other than Manik. Manik can't help but admire her showing off the flowers and smiling away to glory
