~~~ZARIYA's POV~~~
"Baba I am going!" I yelled as I collected my bag and trudged down the stairs. He looked at me, unconvinced like always. I sighed and hugged him, "I'll be home on time. Pakka."
"Zariya-" he was going to say something when the door bell rang and I pulled away. "Nabeel is here! I have to go so please fix this frown."
I ran outside and opened the main door. "Asalamualeikum," I smiled at Nabeel but, that only lasted until I saw a bandage on his forehead.
"What happened?" I panicked as my hand raised to touch his forehead. He winced slightly and I instantly pulled away.
"Kuch Nahi, I had a mini accident, that's it," he said and I sighed. Thank God he didn't get any serious injuries.
"You don't look okay to me, let's just cancel the plan and have dinner at home," I told him as I pulled him inside but, he shook his head. "No, I have something big planned for tonight so we are definitely going."
"Yeah, plans like what? By any chance, do you fancy a trip to the hospital?"
Nabeel and I, both frowned at the voice and looked behind him. My eyes widened in surprise as they met those dark ones. I could see all kinds of negative emotions in them but it was hard to name any.
I looked back at Nabeel and he gulped, staring at hussain. Hussain shifted his eyes to me and then back at Nabeel, "Private jaana pasand karoge ya government is good enough?"
"Hussain?" His name escaped from my mouth in a mere whisper and before I knew it, Nabeel was being dragged out of my house.
"Hussain what are you doing?" I gasped when he threw Nabeel on the ground, "stop it! Please!"
He chose to ignore like my voice didn't reach his ears. He picked up Nabeel by his collar and threw a punch at his face. I gasped, covering my mouth in a shock. My heart cringed when blood oozed out of Nabeel's mouth.
"Hussain, stop it! Please!" I cried out as I held his arm, trying to pull him away. He yanked his arm out of my grip, causing me to stumble backwards.
I tripped but, I didn't fall as baba held my shoulders in time. I looked at him with teary eyes but, he looked as confused as me.
"Accident, han?" Hussain growled suddenly, "batau kaise Hua accident?" He didn't let Nabeel answer and punched his jaw again. I shut my eyes tightly for a brief moment.
"How dare you touch her?" Hussain held Nabeel's collar again and pulled him closer to himself to look into his eyes, "how fucking dare you?"
"Baba stop him, please," I bawled, shaking baba's shoulder but, he didn't look at me. But, he pulled my arm when I tried reaching out for Nabeel.
Hussain pushed Nabeel, causing him to fall on the ground again. Nabeel's eyes rolled back before they closed. He winced in pain, bringing his knees closer to his chest. My heart ached even more with every passing moment.
"Hai koi jawab? Bataye ga Nahi kaise hua accident?" Hussain yelled through his gritted teeth as he wrapped his fingers around Nabeel collar again.
I watched numbly as he dragged Nabeel across the road and my eyes widened when I realised what he was going to do.
"Hussain stop!"
~~~FAISAL's POV~~~

I struggled to free my leg as my trouser got caught in probably a nail that was sticking out of the concrete. What was it doing there anyway?

"Bhai Soch Lo, pakre gaye toh pito gey," Salman whispered behind me and I rolled my eyes. "Tune apna moo band nahi kiya toh tu pitey ga..."

I pulled my leg and groaned as the bottom of my trouser ripped, "waise bhi, Teri bhabhi ne khud bulaya hai."

"Kal apka Nikkah hai.... Ek din nahi miloge toh kya ho jayega?" He asked and I slightly turned to smile at him. "Tu kya jaane aise chup chup kar milney main kitna Maza hai."

"Haan Aur unke bhai ne dekh liya na toh unke haathon Pitney Ka bhi alag Maza hoga," he remarked in a mocking tone.

I rolled my eyes again. Manhoos Sala.

"Aye, help Nahi karni toh mat kar par please apni shakal jaisi gandi baatien mat kar."

He gasped behind me before smacking my butt. I almost stumbled down to kiss the ground, that was at least twelve meters away from me, when he held my shirt from behind and pulled me up again. I reached out and jumped across the 2 meters gap between our houses. My arms and legs swung as I landed right on the edge. Pulling myself up, I rolled over the concrete and stood up straight.

"Jab Se chardi jawani, dhoondti dil da hani,

Jab Se chardi jawani, dhoondti dil da hani,

Main anjani ko yeh pani Le na jaave rod."

I could hear the music more clearly from here while my eyes searched for Aziza in that crowd of girls. I saw Madiha sitting on the floor and clapping. Her eyes fell on me and she gasped.

She looked at Aziza and my eyes followed her's. I smiled at Aziza and waved my hand but, she chose to ignore me and continued with the dance.

"One more terrace to go, Faisal, you can do it," I told myself as I walked across to the other side and climbed over the raised edge. Aziza gasped when I jumped in the same way as I had done before. She always does that whenever she sees me doing this.

I pulled myself up and heaved a sigh. So her eyes were on my after all?

Suddenly Aziza turned towards me and smiled. All the other girls stopped while she approached me and wrapped her arms around my neck. I raised an eyebrow at her, impressed, but, she still acted cool.

"Ambarsariya mundeya ve kachiyan kaliyaan na tord," she sang along the music while swaying her hips left to right and I laughed, "Teri maa ne bole hein mujhe teekhe se bol....Ambarsariya..."

"Come on girls, time for a break," Madiha yelled over the music and someone turned it off. The girls took their time, snickering and whispering, before leaving us alone.

"So you came," Aziza Asked, her eyebrow raised and dropped a few times, making me chuckle.

"Aapne bulaya Aur... Hum chale aaye," I took her hands in mine and kissed her knuckles. She giggled, looking down, but, I didn't miss the blush.

"Haye bas yahi dekhne chala aaya," I pinched her cheek and she slapped my hand away.

"I kept my promise so now it's your turn," I told her and she nodded.

"Koi turn-vurn nahi hai!" Madiha's voice made us pull away. She stood by the terrace door, glaring at us. I Ran a hand through my hair as I stepped away.

"I have told you so many times, ek na ek din gir jaoge. Main door use karne main kya problem hai?" She asked, looking at us, and unfolded her arms, "Aur waise bhi, kal nikkah hai, ek din intezaar Nahi kar sakte kya?"

"Meri jaan," I rolled my eyes as I approached her, "this is what I just told Salman... Shakal achi na ho toh banda baat hi achi kar leta hai.... Gire hamare dushman."

"Teen saal main Nahi gire- toh ab kya girenge?" Aziza chuckled, taking my side, "aur waise bhi, yun shadi Se pehle Milne ka maza tu kya jaane? Tu thori na London Ja sakti hai roz roz."

"But, now he is here right? So go show some interest in him and leave us alone," I added and Madiha rolled her eyes, trying to look ok but, I could see the blush on her cheeks.

"Show some interest?" Aziza raised an eyebrow and I nodded, "itne saalon main diary ke safed pan'ne kaale ho Gaye bhai se baat karte karte par woh saamne aa jaye toh iske mooh Se choo bhi nahi nikalti."

"What can I do? He is always in a rush and you guys are pulling my leg now. Jao Mujhe Nahi karni aap dono se baat," Madiha made a face and I ruffled her hair. "Aww, Aziza yeh chooza toh nazar ho gaya."

"Faisal bhai!" She winced and I stepped away, laughing.

"Aziza.... Madiha?" All three of us exchanged looks, realising that the voice belonged to Jabir chacha.

Aziza shrieked loudly, "yes! Abba is here! He must have brought daadi's diamond necklace for me... Come Madiha!"

Before she could run away, I held her wrist and pulled her closer, "so we are meeting tonight?"

"Faisal... Nahi," she shook her head, "aaj mehndi hai.. You can't come here."

"Fine, then you come over," I suggested but, she shook her head again. "Wahan aur woh bhi Shaadi se pehle? No. Not happening."

"Uhh, toh beech main kaheen milte Hein?" I asked and she grinned at me. "Madiha's terrace!"

"What? no! It's my terrace and not some lover's point!" Madiha complained from behind and I rolled my eyes. "What did I say about shakal and baatien?"

She groaned and stomped her foot on the ground, impatiently.

"Madiha's terrace... Final," Aziza and I both agreed. I moved over to the retaining wall again and climbed over the concrete slab.

"Aap dono Ki shaadi ho Aur mera in heart attacks Se peecha choote," Madiha groaned, "aaj raat last time!"

She huffed and went inside. Aziza made a kissy face at me before following her. I smiled and turned around. Looking down at the space between Aziza's and Madiha's house, I sighed. Last time tonight.

Kya kya karna parta hai use paanch minute dekhne ki khaatir.

"Faisal? Faisal?" Someone shook me out of my dream, quite abruptly. I frowned, looking around and spotted mama beside me.

"Kya Hua?" I asked her as I stretched and she brought my phone forward. "Two missed calls from Ateefa's number and yet you didn't wake up."

I took my phone from her and yawned, trying to wake up properly.

"What were you dreaming about, hmm?" She asked, running a hand through my hair, "bara muskura rahe the."

I looked down at my phone as a faint smile appeared on my lips, "Kuch nahi mama, Bas uski yaad aa gayi Thi."

I looked up at her and she caressed my cheek as she sighed, "kab tak, Faisa-"

"Mama please," I held her hand and moved it away, knowing exactly where she would take this conversation, "fir se Woh topic Nahi."

"Par-"

Just then, the phone's screen brightened up again and I instantly slid my finger across it.

"Asalamualeikum Chachi, you called? Sorry Woh aankh lag gayi Thi," I spoke, pressing it against my ear. I couldn't hear anything from the other end, just a muffled sob.

"Madiha?" Her name escaped my mouth in a mere whisper. I stood up, frowning into space. "Madiha Kuch bolo?"

"Faisal bhai Woh...." She paused as another sob escaped from her lips, "Woh Hussain.... Aap bas aa jao."

I looked at mama and she frowned at me. Going over to my study desk, I picked up my wallet and car keys.

"I am coming."

~~~MADIHA's POV~~~
The tires screeched as the cab halted only meters away from all the chaos. I didn't take long to step out and ran towards the crowd, leaving amma behind. I squeezed through the unwanted audience and made my way to the very front. My eyes widened when they fell on Hussain. He was dragging Nabeel sir across the road with Zariya running behind him.
Hussain made Nabeel sir stand up before he pushed him towards a concrete wall. My eyes widened, realising what he was up to, and I gulped. Gathering all my strength, I yelled out, "Hussain stop!"
His feet halted immediately as he turned to look at me with blood shot eyes. I searched his face, trying to study his dark expressions. Behind him, was Nabeel sir with blood oozing out of various parts of his body.
I shivered physically.
Why is he acting like this? Why would he do this to Nabeel Sir? For me. But why?
Slowly Hussain shook his head at me and turned away. A gasp escaped my lips when he looked at Nabeel sir and I ran towards him.
"Hussain, no!" I held his arm hurriedly and pulled him away, "Please. Stop!"
"You are telling me to stop?" He snapped at me, yanking my hand away, "how dare he touch you? I will Ki-"
"No! Hussain, please!" I held his arm again as I forced him to look at me. My hands cupped his cheeks and I made sure his eyes were looking into mine. "Bas... Please," I whispered to him and he blinked, shaking his head, disapprovingly.
"Mere liye... Please don't," I nodded at him, hoping for him to agree. Hussain held my hands and pushed them away. He looked around, frowning, before he ran a hand through his hair. He rubbed his palms on his cheeks, still absorbing his surroundings.
"I.... Uh.." His voice trailed off when he looked up at me again. I pressed my lips together as I gulped down the lump in my throat.
Why would he do this to Nabeel sir for me? To anyone in general... I didn't expect him to react this way. Kyun farak parhta hai inhe kisi ke mujhe choone se?
Because he is your friend and he said that he will always be there! A voice said inside my head and I sighed, hoping for the same.
"Sorry," Hussain whispered, as his expressions stiffened and I looked up at Zariya. She was standing next to her father, staring at Nabeel. My heart cringed seeing tears in her eyes. She doesn't even know what was happening.
"Zariya-" I stepped towards her as I tried reaching out for her hand but the change in her expressions, stopped me.
She didn't look confused anymore but, horrified. I frowned as I turned around to follow her eyes and gasped.
"Hussain!" I screamed involuntarily as he stumbled forward before falling to the ground.
Nabeel sir stood behind Hussain, grinning shamelessly. In his hands was a brick and in front of him, was hussain; covered in blood and lying...... Lifelessly.
