Today is my cousin's wedding. I was going alone, by myself, but my friend Andrew came to my rescue, yes, my old friend. He said that I did not have to go alone and that I could go with him. So basically, we spent the night together, just catching up, nothing sexual, he is only my friend even that I always had a big crush on him.

We are already there, the bride was waiting, instead of the groom, and then, the groom, who was late, appeared. He seems familiar to me, I asked Andrew but he said that he does not know him, and probably neither I, so I guess he has a common face, but he is breathtaking.

The weirdest thing happened at the wedding, Maddie waiting for the groom, then the groom appears late, not shaved, nothing at all, it was like he did not care about the wedding. He looks around, not even paying attention to the bride, his bride, and then started staring at Andrew, it was like they were having a private conversation, then he looks at me, then back at Andrew. And then, after 5 minutes, he said "Wedding is off! help yourselves out!". Then, as expected, everybody started talking, the groom left, I asked Andrew what was that about and he said he does not know, Maddie came and slapped me accusing me to ruin her wedding, I just don't know what I have done!!! My mom follows Maddie giving me a final disapproving look. My mom's relatives started apologizing to me, and to be honest, at this point I don't know what is going on and I do need a drink.

Somehow, I get out of the venue and I ended up with Andrew at a bar, having a few drinks, I am crying mad, I want to get drunk and forget about today.

"Look, Irene, I don't know why you are mad, you haven't been left out at the altar".

"I know, but I know that somehow, she will convince everybody that it's my fault. I just want to drink and forget Today ever happened"

Then, a nice guy comes, the groom, but now he looks better, he is shaven, perfume all of over his body...

"Excuse me, can you tell me what happened? why didn't you marry my cousin?"

"She was not the one for me."

"Well, I got that you ended up having cold feet at the last minute, but what you have done is wrong in so many levels, she did not deserve it"

"I disagree, she did and she got it".

At this point, I did not what to say so I asked him for further explanations. He said that she was only after his money and reputation, well... that was not new, I knew what kind of cousin I had. But if he knew all along, why did he went through with the wedding instead of cancelling it earlier? why did he have to humiliate her like that? He said that she was no saint, and at some point, he did not mind marrying her because he knew that somehow he will find a way out of his marriage. He told me about her pregnancy and that the baby was not his, how she tried to trick him... He told me how she was playing innocent when she was sleeping around. And when I asked him how did he know all of that, he said, 'do you believe in soulmates? I do believe that you are mine.'
