Chapter 2: Cry Wolf

"So, we're playing truth or dare but with spin the bottle?"

"Yep! And let's keep it clean everyone."

Gene jokingly pouts and lays his head on my shoulder. I roll my eyes and look at the bottle on the living room floor.

"Who wants to go first?" Kawaii-Chan chirps with her bright big smile.

"Ugh, chickens," Katelyn huffed and grabs the neck of the bottle, spinning it in a circle. It slowly spins around and we all watch, waiting to see who will be the victim of Katelyn. It landed on Laurance and he didn't seem that surprised.

"Laurance, truth or dare?" Katelyn grins and leans on one of her knees.

"Dare, I ain't no chicken," Laurance grins back.

"I dare you to say something nice about Zane and Gene."

Laurance groans and Gene chuckles, looking at Laurance with his head on my shoulder. Zane just rolls his eyes.

"And make it real and sincere," Katelyn adds and Laurance just slowly nodded and looks at Zane first.

"Zane, you're baking skills are really good," He says and Zane just gave this proud smile. "And Gene, you have a cute girlfriend."

"What-?! That doesn't count and you all need to stop saying that!" Gene snaps at Laurance, wrapping his arms around me.

"That shouldn't count, but I'm letting it slide," Katelyn snickers as I chuckle a bit.

Laurance just grins to himself and spins the bottle next; it landing on Gene and me. It counted as only me since it was closer to the left.

"Truth or dare, (Y/n)?"

"Truth."

"Laaaaame." Gene and Dante whined on my right side.

"So, (Y/n)... How did Gene ask you out?" Laurance questions, looking at me.

I try to recall what Gene did to ask me out while Gene hides his face in my neck, pressing a small passionate kiss there. "Well, if I'm correct, we went to work and he gave me some flowers, then later that night he stood outside my house while playing the guitar until I paid attention to him."

"Where do you two work?" Laurance asks.

"Sorry, one question per turn," I grin while Gene chuckled a bit.

"The way he asked you out was a bit lame," Travis comments with a bored look.

"Some people don't like to make big scenes unlike you and Gene," Aaron huffed, sitting close to Aphmau.

"I like to let everyone know she is my girlfriend," Gene fires back, glaring at Travis.

I shrug a bit and spin the bottle next. It landed on Dante and he looks at me with his eyebrow raised.

"Dante, truth or dare?"

"Dare," Dante grins at me, sitting on the other side of Gene.

"Let me shave your leg," I grin evilly and Gene laughs when Dante's eyes widened.

"Ooh, she's evil," Garroth jokes and Zane grins, liking this whole dare.

"I hate you," Dante groans and gets up, coming back a minute later with shaving cream and razer.

I thank him with a hum, having him roll up his pant leg, putting the shaving cream there.

"Um, I forgot about the water part-" Dante started but I was already starting to shave his leg.

"(Y/n)! I'm gonna bleed if we don't use water," Dante whined as he watches, but I just shrug.

"She doesn't like body hair I'm guessing," Laurance comments, mostly to himself.

"She makes me shave all the time," Gene groans.

"But you have facial hair," Katelyn makes a face.

"Head doesn't count," Gene replies with a blank face, holding his brother's leg in place while I kept shaving.

I finish after a while, using the end of Dante's shirt-while he complained-to wipes his own leg off.

I return back to my spot and cuddle with Gene, shutting my eyes.

"Hphm," Dante pouts and spins the bottle.

-Time Skip-

-Garroth's POV-

It's been a couple minutes since Gene and (Y/n) went home, the rest of us getting ready to leave or stay the night at Dante's.

"So..." Travis starts but Dante gives him a look.

"If what you're about to say is something about (Y/n), don't say it."

"Jeez, you're acting like she's your girlfriend," Katelyn tells Dante with an eyebrow raised.

"Its... Shes just a mystery waiting to be solved..." Travis started, "It's like..."

"You want to figure out the puzzle that is her?" I finish for him.

"Yeah!"

"Travis, if she doesn't want to share things don't make her," Aphmau warns him.

Laurance joins in, "I think Travis is saying he wants to get to know her, like have her warm up to him."

"Yeah, so she can fall in love with me~" Travis grins and most of us-including me-groan at him.

"Kawaii-chan thinks (Y/n)-chan is already in love with Gene-kun..." Kawaii-chan says slowly, looking at Travis.

"Eh," Dante started and it surprised us, "They've been together for years but not once have I ever heard (Y/n) be lovey-dovey towards him."

"Maybe she just doesn't like to act like that," Aaron huffed, "Just don't ruin their relationship..."

"I'm not going to," Travis says quickly and we all give him a look to where he just huffs and goes silent.

"But back to what Travis said first," I stood up with a yawn, "She is mysterious and I want to figure out who she is."

Dante nodded quickly, "Yeah, which is why I'm gonna ask Gene and (Y/n) to join me for lunch tomorrow."

"Wow, easy for you to say; he's your brother, of course, he would say yes."

"Well duh," Dante chuckles with a grin.

"All of you are so hopeless it makes me want to throw up," Zane finally spoke up, "Going after someone else's girl is just low, especially if she's with your brother." He glares at us, "It's like Aphmau all over again."

"But Aph wasn't with Aaron at the time," Laurance tries to make himself look better. Aphmau and Aaron make a face but choose to ignore everything.

"That doesn't help your case trying to get with (Y/n). Like actually try to find someone who is interested in you." Zane groans and I roll my eyes at my brother. 

"Yeah, I wouldn't want to mess with Gene," Lucinda jokes when she came into the room with a hand on her hip.

"Jeez, we don't need to be mothered," I groan.

"Fine, but don't cry wolf when (Y/n)/Gene isn't what they seem to be," Lucinda and Zane said at the same time; Zane talking about Gene and Lucinda talking about (Y/n).

I blink at the two before looking over at Dante and Travis to see them with their mouths shut and Laurance with his arms crossed.

Don't cry wolf...

Once there was a shepherd boy who had to look after a flock of sheep. One day, he felt bored and decided to play a trick on the villagers. 

He shouted, "Help! Wolf! Wolf!" 

The villagers heard his cries and rushed out of the village to help the shepherd boy. When they reached him, they asked, "Where is the wolf?" 

The shepherd boy laughed loudly, "Ha, Ha, Ha! I fooled all of you. I was only playing a trick on you." 

A few days later, the shepherd boy played this trick again. 

Again he cried, "Help! Help! Wolf! Wolf!" 

Again, the villagers rushed up the hill to help him and again they found that boy had tricked them. They were very angry with him for being so naughty. 

Then, sometime later, a wolf went into the field. The wolf attacked one sheep and then another and another. The shepherd boy ran towards the village shouting, "Help! Help! Wolf! Help! Somebody!" 

The villagers heard his cries but they laughed because they thought it was another trick. The boy ran to the nearest villager and said, "A wolf is attacking the sheep. I lied before, but this time it is true!" 

Finally, the villagers went to look. It was true. They could see the wolf running away and many dead sheep lying on the grass. 

We may not believe someone who often tells lies even when he tells the truth.
