chapter eight ▬▬▬ a conclusion

━━━━━ ELLIE WALKED INTO the house, Bella went upstairs to her own room while Charlie went to his room. Ellie walked into the kitchen, grabbing a glass from one of the cupboards she placed it under the faucet, turning the sink on as she watched as the water fell into the glass.

Turning the sink off she lifted the cup up to her lips gulping the water down. As she drank the water her thoughts went back to Carlisle, there had to be an explanation as to why Carlisle's touch was nothing but coldness.

And why were his eyes gold, it didn't make any sense to her. The brunette turned around leaning up against the sink as these thoughts pondered in her head. Charlie shuffled into the kitchen coming to a stop to look at Ellie as she stared at the ground holding the glass in her hand close to her chest.

"Are you okay, El?" Charlie asked, causing her to lift her gaze to him.

"Uh... Yeah, I just haven't been able to sleep these last few days." Ellie said, drinking the rest of the water in the glass.

She turned around, placing the glass in the sink then turning back around looking at her adoptive father.

"I think I might start running again, it seems to help." Ellie mentioned.

She knew that she was lying to him, but she couldn't tell him the truth of what was really on her mind. She had come to the conclusion that not only did werewolves exist but vampires existed too.

"Have you been getting up in the middle of the night to see your parents?" Charlie asked, curious to know what had been bothering her. Ellie knew what Charlie was trying to do, but she knew a way to get past it.

"Yeah, I just miss them so much, you know. I wish they were still here." Ellie said she was lying about her mother, but she didn't want Charlie to know.

She couldn't hold the tears back for her father, she had missed him more than anything. Charlie could see that the mention of her parents alone brought back the memories. Charlie sighed walking over to her, he pulled her into a tight hug. The brunette wrapped her arms around Charlie taking the comfort of his love.

"I know." Charlie simply responded. "Go get some sleep, you really need it." Charlie told her, pulling away from her, and looking into her brown eyes.

Ellie placed a small smile on lips that had still been covered in her red lipstick. She passed Charlie heading towards her room, walking into her small room she closed the door behind her. Grabbing other clothes she changed in them, walking over to her mirror she began wiping the makeup off her face.

Turning herself towards her door, she opened it up peeking her head out to see if Charlie was in the living room. When she didn't see him in the room, she pushed herself out of her room heading up to Bella's room. Ellie came to a stop at Bella's closed door, lifting her hand, she knocked on it lightly hoping that Bella was still awake.

"Come in." Bella spoke, not bothering to get out of her chair.

Ellie sighed, placing her hand on the door now she pushed the door open, walking in she turned back around, closing the door behind her, so Charlie couldn't hear them talking if he was still up. The brunette walked over to Bella's bed sitting down on the covers, as she turned in her chair looking at her.

"What's up?" Bella asked, looking at her adoptive sister.

"There's something weird happening, but I have the slightest feeling that you know what's going on too." Ellie said. "So, can you place me in the loop of what you're thinking?" Ellie asked, looking back at Bella.

"I did some research, and have come up with a conclusion." Bella said, standing up from her chair, walking over to her bed. Ellie turned slightly on the bed waiting for Bella to inform her.

"Okay, what is the conclusion?" Ellie asked her unsure of what was about to come out of her adoptive sister's mouth.

"I'm almost positive that the Cullens are vampires." Bella said, watching Ellie's facial expressions. Ellie nodded her head taking in the information that she knew had to be correct.

"I'm just not that surprised." Ellie stated as the missing piece of the puzzle aligned in her head.

Bella tilted her head in confusion unsure of why Ellie hadn't been freaking out like she thought she would if she had found out.

"You aren't freaked out at all?" Bella asked her, still unsure of what was happening.

"No, I've seen worse things." Ellie replied, rubbing her leg gently. Bella picked up on her raising an eyebrow before dropping it.

"I think I'm gonna go have a talk with Carlisle about it." Ellie added, causing Bella to look back at her.

"Yeah, I'll be doing the same thing." Bella replied, giving her a small smile.

"I just want to know the truth before our relationship goes any further, whenever that may be." Ellie explained, standing up from the bed.

"Okay, well I have to go to bed. I have school in the morning." Bella told the brunette. She nodded her head walking over to the door pulling it open.

"And I have work." Ellie replied, she exited out of the room closing the door behind her.

She was certain of one thing, Carlisle was a vampire and she was going to confront him about it. The second she hit the pillow she was fast asleep, still thinking about everything that had happened to her.
