Fifteen minutes into the party, I changed into the extra clothes. Twenty minutes into the party, the man handling the music ran out of good songs cause apparently and I quote "Didn't expect the party to last that long" what is wrong with him? it has been only twenty minutes. It has been thirty minutes since the party started and I'm tying the shoelace of the extra sneakers the twins packed for me, just know that my clumsiness and a disorganized party was not a good combination.

" Jason, I need your help." an old woman with a mixture of grey and black hair said walking straight towards Jace.

"Nona? Where have you been?" Jace asked while giving her a hug.

"Well, I've been busy since I'm the organizer and all." the woman shrugged, "oh, who is your friend over here?" she asked wiggling her eyebrows.

"Well, she's Elena and she's totally not my friend. Mum will tell you the rest later, so for now what do you need my help with?" Jace asked in a breath. I felt a little bad since Jace said we weren't friends, well we haven't been on the best terms since I got here so what did I expect?

"Oh right!"She exclaimed probably remembering the reason she came here in the first place, " the singer I hired can't make it so I need you to sing for us, please?"

"But Nona..."

"Please please, you need to help me"

" Jace can't you help your grandma?" I asked timidly and Jace gave me a killer glare in return, why can't I shut my mouth?

"Oh dear, you can call me Nona, that's what the kids call me" Nona said to me giving me a very warm smile, "and Jason can't you help your poor old granny?"

"Fine I'll do it." Jace sighed.

"Oh goody, let's go get you ready." Nona cheerily said.

" Elena stay here, don't go off and do anything stupid." Jace warned what does he mean? I'm not stupid.

"I'm not stupid." I said frowning a little.

"Yeah whatever." he said before leaving

I looked around and saw other people who were probably forced to come to the party because they looked so bored and tired,  even one guy was dozing off on one of the couches.

"Attention please!" Nona said from the stage, " we have a singer in the block so get ready to shake that retired hips and move those wobbly bones of yours!" Once she was done, Jace came up the stage with a musical instrument that has strings on it, the type you can see in harps. He started strumming a few cords.

You know you stopped me dead when I was passing by,
And now I beg to see you dance just one more time...

Without wasting any second, everyone got on their feet and started dancing even those that looked bored and that one guy that was dozing off was surprisingly walking towards me, he looked around Jace's age.

"Hey pretty, wanna dance?" He asked very close to my face.

"No but thanks for asking though." I politely declined.

"Ok but if you change your mind I'll be on the dance floor waiting" he whispered before walking away towards the dance floor. He turned and blinked one eye at me while smirking. How rude! How could he talk so close to my face with a bad breath! Disgusting!

While Jace marveled the audience with his amazing voice, I looked around and saw a couple of sealed bottles, probably water. I opened one of the bottles and took a sip but it tasted funny and not water-like at all. it's probably because I haven't had anything to drink in a long time. I took a couple of sips and in no time, I finished the whole bottle of funny water.

My vision became blurry and my steps became staggered. what's wrong with me? Why did the song sound so inviting? I saw myself walking towards the dance floor and I started to move my body the same way the people around me were. Everyone started cheering me on and I moved my body more and more even the guy with a bad breath was clapping.

The song soon ended and I was dragged off the dance floor by Jace, " Hey Jason arrrreee you ddonne?" I slurred.

" Did you drink alcohol?" He asked looking a bit angry.

"What's alcohol?" I asked totally confused.

"Nevermind." he sighed, "I clearly said don't do anything stupid and you boarded a one way bus to stupid town."

I started giggling uncontrollably, " you know, where I come from everyone has wings and can fly. There is also a big guy that controls the whole world."

   Jace gave me a strange look before handing me a bottle of water, " drink this, you should sober up soon."

After a few minutes, I got much better enough for me to realize I almost told Jace who I am, which could have ended up badly if he understood what I was saying. "Sorry for the stunt I pulled, I really thought that bottle contained water." I said.

"It's ok, we should get back to the party." Jace said before heading back inside. I always thought Jace was a mean person but today has changed certain things, he could have abandoned me here and gone back inside long ago but he stayed here and made sure I was fine.

A couple of hours has passed, my legs were aching cause I volunteered to help serve the snacks and Jace went up the stage a sang a couple more times, it has been very exhausting.

"We should be heading home now, mum just called." I jumped a little no expecting to hear his voice because I was busy rubbing my feet.

"Oh! You're right it's getting late." I said putting my shoes on again, I looked up to see Jace staring at my feet before we made eye contact and he looked away.

"Oh there you are kids, I've been searching all over for you two." Nona said giving us a big smile, "thanks for the awesome party you guys helped me throw. Annie I'm so happy James brought you here."

Wait a second, Annie? James? They weren't even here, what's going on?

"You know I'm here for you anytime mum" Jace answered, I gave him a confused look and he squeezed my hand lightly signalling me to shut up.

"Annie, why did you dye your hair black, being blonde suits you more?" Nona said to me.

I decided to continue the acting and flow with whatever that was going on, " sure I'll just wash this one off when I get home." I answered nervously, if a dyed hair can't be washed off then you know I messed up cause I don't even know the meaning what of what i just said.

"It's unlike you not to argue back." Nona stated.

"She's tired mum, you know the party was wild and everything so we need to go home and rest." Jace said trying to cover up for me.

"Ok guys, bye." she said before a nurse guided her inside.

I gave Jace a look which clearly shows I need an explanation. Jace sighed and walked towards the car and I followed him.

"From what you've seen, Nona has Alzheimer." Jace stated and I gave him one of the most confused look on earth.

"Ugh! It means that she looses her memory some times and forgets she has a grand child. She calls me James and at times she remembers and calls me Jason." he further explained.

"So you people can't tell her the truth?" I asked slowly.

" No we can't, she's old,we can't just tell a woman who is 65 that she has a dang disease." he face palmed. What he said was actually correct, although they were hiding the truth from Nona, they were actually considering her feelings. Not knowing what do in a situation like this, I gave him a warm smile which he almost returned until he looked at me with wide eyes.

"You can't tell anyone what you saw last night." Oh yeah, guess what I saw last night? The great Jace was stuffing his face with my food and when he saw me, he looked like a squirrel caught in a crime.

"I promised not to tell anyone." I said giggling a bit which earned me a playful glare from Jace.

"Thanks for today and I apologise for getting you in trouble with mum" Jace said slowly.

"It's ok" I told him. I felt so giddy on the inside, it seems that Jace and I are becoming, and I dare to say it, friends.
