Chapter 19: Quite an eye candy.

"Jace, coach wants to see you, Luke and Cole in his office. I think he wants to tell you something about today's practice after school." Marley said batting her eyes at him. It was Tuesday and I was just sitting on one of the chairs in the basketball court. Laura had to show an exchange student around the school so she wasn't in gym class today.

"Everyone gather round!" Marley yelled and only the cheerleading squad listened to her, the boys were either discussing or on their phones. "Coach said we should play dodgeball so I thought of a way to make it more interesting." she motioned the cheerleading girls to gather round in a circle and after sometime the parted and they all had similar smirks on their faces. "Elena, come on let's play dodgeball." I stood up and went to the centre of the court only to be faced with a couple of balls being thrown at me.

"Make sure you hit the target girls!" Marley yelled from the side of the court while her minions threw the dodgeball at me. I tried to look at the boys for some kind of help but it was either they were deaf and blind or they didn't care at all.

I was taking a shower in the girl's locker room and i was hurting all over. The girls kept throwing dodgeball at me till they eventually got tired, which was ten minutes till the end of class. I stepped out of the shower in only a towel and I went to my bag only to find my clothes missing. I opened my locker in the locker room and I couldn't find anything, not even my sports wear.

"Looking for something?" Marley said smirking.

"Yes, my clothes. I..." Before I could finish what I was saying, one of the girls behind Marley slid a bucket towards me and I looked inside the bucket only to find my clothes soaked in water.

"You've seen your clothes, right? You can thank me later." Marley said before sashaying out of the locker room and almost everyone followed her out, the only people that were remaining we're still putting on their clothes. I looked at my clothes once again and I realized there was nothing I could do. I picked up my phone that I thankfully put in my backpack and called Laura.

"Hey Elena, when are you? Class ended like five minutes ago."

"I need your help, can you come to the locker room?" I said biting my nails nervously.

"I'm on my way, what happened?"

"I'll tell you everything when you get here." I said breathing a sigh of relief.

******
"You are really lucky I have an extra outfit in my locker." Laura said looking at the dress she gave me, "Now, what happened to your clothes?" she asked and I narrated everything to her. "So you are saying that Marley did this to you?"

"Yes.. and other girls too." I said nervously, the look on Laura's face was deathly.

"I'm going to get that..." Laura started and I stopped her before she'd do anything she'd regret, "what?" She asked looking at me.

"It's my fault, Marley warned me to stay away from Jace but I still hung out with him so that's probably why..."

"How is it your fault?, I'm going to give her a piece of my mind." Laura said almost barging out of the locker room.

"Laura please!" I yelled and she stopped, "she's your best friend, I don't want to break that friendship."

"This is not about friendship. It's about making things right." Laura sighed.

"Laura please, just this once, let it go." I pleaded trying to make her understand. As much as I appreciated what Laura was trying to do, I couldn't be selfish enough to let a friendship that has lasted for years end because of me.

"Just this once." Laura sighed, "let's go or we'll be late for class." and I followed her out of the locker room.

It was finally lunch and I decided to sit with Lewis again because I just felt more comfortable around him, not that I didn't feel comfortable around Laura and the guys, it's just that feeling that makes you feel like you actually belong.

"I didn't expect you to actually come back to this table." Lewis said looking at me in surprise.

"Me neither but here I am." I said taking a seat opposite him.

"So how's the task going?, Have you heard from sir Antonio lately?" Lewis said throwing a fry into his mouth.

"No, I haven't heard anything." I said sadly.

"Cole I've told you so many times, I don't want a party." I turned only to see Luke and Cole coming towards us.

"But.. but you'll be eighteen, how can you not have a party?" Cole argued taking a seat beside Lewis.

"I have a sister to babysit, Cole" Luke said taking a seat beside me.

"Um.. guys? What's going on?" I asked quite unsure about the current situation.

"We are having lunch." Laura stated taking a seat beside Luke "Do you have a problem with that?".

"No, I'm.. I'm just surprised." I said utterly shocked.

"Shouldn't we make space for Jace?" Laura asked and the three of them nodded in agreement.

"Ok everyone stand up. I'm changing the seating arrangements." Cole said clapping his hands.

I ended up sitting at the end with a space beside me, Luke and Laura sat side by side directly opposite of me and Cole sat a space away from me.

"Hey Jace" I turned to see not only Jace but the fixed eyes of the whole student body present at the cafeteria.

"I'm so tired of school." Jace groaned taking a seat beside me. As our thighs touched, something fluttered in my stomach like a thousand of butterflies were suddenly having a parade in my belly.

"Me too, brother, me too." Cole said smiling proudly at Jace.

"Can I ask why all of you decided to sit at this table?" I asked quietly.

"I couldn't sit at the other table without giving Marley a piece of my mind so I decided to come keep you company." Laura said stabbing her salad.

"Are you guys fighting?" Luke asked her.

"Yeah, it's kind of a long story." she replied looking at me pointedly.

"Um.. what about you Cole?" I asked changing the subject.

"Me? I have three reasons. One, I can't leave you alone here. Two, Laura suggested coming her and Celine was being a witch as usual. And finally, Jace kept bugging us to come here." Cole said earning a glare from Jace.

" No I did not." Jace said immediately throwing one of his fries at Cole who just picked it up and popped it into his mouth.

" How would you explain this plea" Luke said clearing his throat, "come on guys let's just sit at that table, we don't know who that is. He may be a stalker or a creep, let's go make sure Elena is alright." Luke said in a gruff voice very similar to Jace's. "No offense dude." Luke added immediately.

"None taken." Lewis said amusedly, he looks like he's enjoying this whole friendship drama.

"I do not sound like that." Jace said nervously? Was he nervous?

"I think you do." I said quietly and Jace turned to look at me while Luke and Cole started laughing holding their stomachs.

"What? You too?" Jace said shocked.

" Well she's not lying though." Laura said smirking.

"Why is everyone looking at us? Don't they have lunch to eat?" I asked looking around noticing that all eyes were still on us, I did not miss Marley's glare, it was hard to ignore.

"Not to boast or anything, I'm quite an eye candy, you know." Cole said raking his hands through his hair.

"You look a little bit constipated." I told him truthfully.

"More like a cat choking on a fur ball." Luke said rubbing his chin in thought.

"Or someone holding a fart." Jace said nonchalantly and we all looked at Laura waiting for her to say something but she just gave us a questioning look.

"What? You guys said it all. I'm not good with comebacks and stuff." Laura said simply.

"I'll just ignore everything you guys said." Cole said pouting a bit, "they're are probably looking 'cause we gave them the shock of their lives, I mean it's not everyday that you get to see us in another table other than the stereotypical popular table." and surprisingly everyone agreed.

"Cole, you just said something smart!" Luke exclaimed and Jace nodded in agreement.

" That's true." Cole said equally surprised, " it sounded strange coming from me."

"Is it weird that I feel left out?" Lewis suddenly asked and to tell you the truth, that was when I remembered that Lewis was here.
