"And we're done!" Laura exclaimed stretching her hands, "I wonder why miss Rachel said we should submit it on Friday."

       "Maybe some people haven't read the book yet." I suggested.

       "Yeah, probably."Laura responded before looking at me with an accusatory look, "Nothing is going on between you and Jace, right?"

        "No, we recently became friends."I shrugged.

         "Good." she replied standing up, "although we are not friends but for the sake of this assignment we completed I'm going to give you a piece of advice. Marley will ruin your life if anything goes on between you and Jace so just remain friends not close friends though." and with that she left the cafe and entered the car which I just realized was waiting for her since we started working on the assignment. I walked outside and realized I used all of the money I had left to pay for my drink and snacks and now I had no means of going home, not that I know the address. I weighed my options and it turns out I can either call Annie or Jace. Annie was ruled out cause she would probably be tired now so I just called Jace.

      "Hello?" I said nervously, Jace might get annoyed and hang up or something. You can't predict him.

       "Who is this?" I heard Jace ask and I realized that I never gave him my number.

        "It's Elena." I replied

        "Oh, why are you calling me? Aren't we in the same house?" Jace asked irritated.

        "Erm, I just came out of sunny cafe and I have no means back home so I was wondering..."

         "If I can pick you up." Jace completed before sighing and I felt bad in an instant, what if he was about to take a nap or something and I was disturbing him? "Wait for me, I'll be there in ten." he said before hanging up. I sat down on the front stairs of the cafe and I looked around the place. I saw people walking past the cafe, some coming in with friends and others... Wait a minute, is that man walking towards me?

     "Hey there, what's wrong?" He said grinning at me with a set of yellowish black teeth. I didn't respond and just looked away. "Hey, I'm talking to you." he said closer this time. Before anything could happen, I heard a horn.

      "Elena, let's go" Jace said and I thanked the almighty and I jumped on my feet and ran into Jace's car, "Are you ok?"

       "I'm fine." i replied sighed out in relief.

      It was another school day and I was less enthusiastic than I was yesterday but I wasn't going to give up now. I took my books from my locker and was about to leave when I saw Ross jogging towards me, I braced myself ready for impact, when I didn't feel anything I opened my eyes to see Ross smirking at me.

      "Look Elena, I'd love to stay and catch up with you but I have stuff to do. Give me this assignment back in history class,ok? Good" he said before walking away, I had history last period today so I just put the paper inside my locker in the meantime. I realized that the paper Ross gave me was blank, maybe he just wanted me to hold it for him.

     I had gym class now and I was so tired. Earlier, we had this pop quiz in maths class and we read a really long essay in English class so I was quite tired.

     " Hey Elena." I turned towards the voice and saw Shane smiling sheepishly at me, "um I just wanted to tell you that our gym class will be held in the basketball court in case you didn't know."

      "Oh thanks, no one told me. I'll just head there right away." I said slamming my locker shut.

       "Let's go." Shane said walking in front of me which I was grateful for because I didn't even know where the basketball court was.

       Coach Mitch blew his whistle and everyone gathered to the center of the court. I spotted Jace, Marley, Debbie, Jess and Laura, even Cole and Luke were here too. Shane and I rushed to the center immediately to avoid being late on our first day in this class.

       "We are going to be playing basketball. Girls vs girls and vice versa." he announced

        "Elena, what are you doing here? Did you get lost on your way to class?" Marley said giggling with her friends.

        "We have two new students as you can see. Now move to your places everyone." coach Mitch said clapping his hands.

         "Sir, the number of girls in this class turns out to be odd, we should let the new girl slide this one, right?" Marley suggested giving me a fake sweet smile.

        "Aubrey just came back from a surgery so she shouldn't participate." Laura said stretching her legs.

        "That's right." Marley sighed disappointed, "you can join." she told me before strutting off.

        The boys were finally done with their match and it was the girls turn to play. I have a feeling Marley doesn't like me much or at all.

       "Make sure you don't slip in the court and break a leg dear." Marley said to me patting my head and I got a weird feeling that I was not safe.

        The game started and I had no idea what to do, to make matters worse Marley and her crew kept trying to push me down at every chance they got. It was as if the purpose of the game was to see who would push me down first.

        "Elena watch out!" I heard Laura yell and before I could turn, the basketball slammed into my face and I twisted my ankle and fell. I touched my nose and realized I was bleeding and it was hurting me a little plus my ankle was throbbing.

       "I'm so sorry Elena, I had a cramp in my hand and I couldn't throw the ball properly." Marley said with her fake sweet voice.

       "What the hell Marley?!!" Jace yelled running over to me immediately, "Elena are you ok?"

        "I don't think so" I whispered and before I knew it Jace carried me up and headed out of the basketball court, "I'll take her to the nurse's office"

     It's been fifteen minutes since we entered the nurse's office and no one was there. Jace managed to stop my nose from bleeding and was now wrapping my ankle with a bandage. He also brought my school bag with him.

      "I can take you home if you want." Jace said looking at me.

       "No, I'm fine. I just have two classes left." I said reassuringly.

       "Ok all done." Jace said tapping my ankle.

    "You know Jace, I might just make you my assistant." a plump woman said removing her white coat.

     "Hey Nora." Jace greeted smiling.

      "Good afternoon ma'am" I greeted politely.

     "Good afternoon dear, please call me Nora." she said smiling, she had this motherly smile that was infectious. "Jace, what about the thing we talked about?"

     "He's going to reply today and I'm pretty sure the answer is going to be positive." Jace said blinking one eye at her.

       "I better go and get ready. Jace use your key to close the door." And with that she bounced out of the room.

       "Nora and coach Mitch have this middle school romance going on, so i keep sending their cringe worthy notes between both of them." Jace explained helping me stand up.

     "Oh, ok" I replied.

      "Hey guys!" Cole yelled barging into the room making me wince at how loud he was.

       "I shouldn't have given you candy " Luke mumbled, "Elena, are you okay?"

       "I'm better now." I replied giving him a small smile.

       "Let me carry your bag." Luke said taking my bag from me.

        "Oh, you guys are here."Laura said stumbling into the room.

        "Hey Laura, why did you come?" Cole asked.

         "I...  I wanted to submit her history assignment. I thought she was going to go home." Laura mumbled.

          "Aww, you were worried." Cole cooed.

          "Shut up." she said with a red face smacking Cole's hand.

          "Let's go guys." Jace groaned.

           "We are already ten minutes late to class, not that I care or anything but we have serious students among us." Luke said folding his arms.

            "Oh my God!, that's true. Let's go, let's go." Laura panicked. Jace swung my arm over his shoulder and helped me go out of the nurse's office and the others followed. The whole student body in the hallway froze and gave way for us to pass. They looked at me suprised probably wondering why the new girl was with the popular kids. I saw a figure by the corner of the hallway and I looked closely but I didn't see anybody there, weird.
