"So you are saying that she technically threatened you to stop answering questions in class?" Celine asked putting her books in her cupboard.

      "Yes, why didn't you tell me about her yesterday?" I asked, I was still terrified from what Laura told me and thank goodness, I didn't have any other class with her.

       "It probably slipped my mind." Celine said, "Laura is Marley's best friend. Apart from Jess and Debbie who are only friends with Marley because of the cheer leading team, Laura has been friends with Marley since diapers."

        "Oh" I said, nodding in understanding.

        "Come on let's have go to the cafeteria, I'm starving." Celine groaned

       "Ok, I want to drop these books in my cupboard." I said earning a loud laugh from Celine.

       "Did you just say cupboard?"

       "Yes why?" I asked confusedly

        "It's called a locker, silly." she said dragging me to my locker.

       "Hey guys." Celine said sitting down and I followed suite and sat down beside her.

       "Hey Celine, I thought you got lost in a jungle or something." a boy with grey eyes said.

       "Hey Cole, a little birdie told me you broke your spine." Celine said smiling at Cole who glared at her in return.

       "Celine how was your break?" Another boy sitting beside Cole asked.

       "It was ok , how was yours?" Celine asked digging into her lunch.

       "I was babysitting my sister all break long." the boy groaned.

        "It's ok Luke, at least the break has ended and she has school to go to." Celine consoled, so that's Luke. "Where are my manners? Elena this is Luke and crazy Carl sorry I mean Cole."

        I waved at them, " and guys this is Elena."

        "Welcome to Whitewood high, the home of vampires and witches" Luke said darkly and I looked at him with wide eyes, Celine never told me about vampires or witches. Luke and Cole started laughing, Cole was wiping imaginary tears from his eyes.

      "I'm just joking, you should see your face." Luke said calming down from his laugh.

       "Hey angel, I'm the handsome Cole", the moment he said the word 'angel', I started choking on the water I was drinking and Celine immediately started patting my back.

       "Cole! I've told you countless of times, stop flirting, it never works." Celine said and the rest of the people sitting beside is looked at me in concern while mumbling ' sorry ', "it's ok Elena, he was just joking."

       "Yeah, sorry Elena. I didn't know I was that bad at flirting." Cole apologized.

        "What happened to her?" Laura asked sitting down beside Luke.

        "Cole tried to flirt." Luke answered eating a spoon of his food.

        "I knew it'll end up like this one day." Laura said shaking her head. I started to regulate my breathing, before it became normal again.

       "Hey guys!" Two girls chorused.

       "Hey Debby, hey Jess." Cole said .

        "The dark skinned one is Debby and the other one is Jess" Celine whispered, "what's up guys?" she said with a smile that looked fake.

        "Oh hey Celine, didn't see you there." Jess said with a smile that equally looked fake.

      "I'm sure you didn't." Celine said, "it's probably because of those cheap lens you keep buying."

       "They are not cheap." Jess said furiously.

        "So... Elena, which school did you transfer from?" Debby asked changing the subject.

          "I was home schooled." I've already practiced this question, it was not a lie because I learnt everything I know in heaven which is my home.

            "Oh ok, where did you come from?" Jess asked after spending time glaring at Celine.

            "Hey lovelies." the girl from the mall aka Marley said and got a bunch of replies in return.

         "Marley, where is your lunch?" Laura asked confused.

          "Well my boyfriend said he'd buy lunch for me so he's going to get it for me." she stated proudly. As if on cue, Jace came to the table carrying only one tray of food.

         "Um.. Jacey poo, where is my lunch?" Marley asked embarrassed.

         "How am I supposed to be with your lunch?" Jace asked digging into his food.

         "But you said you'd buy lunch!" Marley complained.

         "I said I'd buy you lunch not carry it for you" Jace rolled his eyes.

         "Fine, I'll go get it myself." she said storming off

          "Here's your money." Jace said bringing out his wallet.

        "I don't need it." Marley seethed and everyone in the table burst out laughing so hard even Debby and Jess, you can't blame them, it was funny.

       "Has anyone seen Ross?" Laura suddenly asked.

       "Nope" "Haven't seen him" "is he in school?"

       "So according to the book, the warlock created a tablet that was divided into four which represented the four elements of nature, can anyone tell me why he chose the four elements?" Miss Rachel asked. I was currently sitting in literature class and guess who had the same class with me?, Laura. I mean, I didn't have a class with her since maths and now, out of all the classes, she decides to have literature.
 
        "Laura" miss Rachel said sighing.

         "Simple, it was because there were four different tribes representing the four elements" Laura stated proudly.

          "That's partially correct, does anyone somehow have anything to add?" The teacher asked hopefully. I knew the answer but Laura looked around the class glaring at everyone and it was obvious she didn't want anyone to answer the question. She's just a high school girl, what's the worst she could do? and with that I raised my hand.

       "Yo! New girl" a pretty tall guy yelled storming towards me and I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me this was Ross.

         "I heard you have been causing trouble for my girl, Laura" he said and the whole student body in the hallway froze and watched us.

          "Trouble? I don't understand" I asked confused, I know I went against what she said but I didn't cause any trouble, did I?

           "So she didn't warn you about anything today?" He asked bringing his face closer to mine.

           "Oh." I simply said, when I asked what's the worst Laura can do, I never expected her to send a school bully to scare me.
 
          "Look, the only reason I'm letting you go is because you are new and most importantly you are pretty, if not..." Ross said almost in a whisper.

          "You don't wanna do this Ross" I turned only to see Jace leaning on a locker.

          "Dude, What do you want? Just run along and mind your business." Ross snarled not moving an inch.
 
           "Look Ross, she's not one of your preys so just leave her alone." Jace said calmly and at this point, the whole student body was staring at us.

           "I might just hurt her because of you, pretty boy." Ross said while raising his fist.

           "Um, you have bad breath, can you please move back a bit?" I asked, don't blame me I was almost choking in his bad breath and he kept his face so close to mine.

         "What did you just say?!" Ross said annoyed and I think he's going to hit me.

           "Ross stop!" Jace yelled but the deed was done, the loud punch echoed around the now quiet school.

          "She punched him" a student whispered before taking a picture which the rest of the students were now doing. I realized that I actually punched Ross on the face and he fell on the ground clutching his nose.

        "Elena, let's go" Celine suddenly said from behind me.

         "Consider this your welcome gift. It won't be like this next time" Ross said before leaving the school doors.

          "What are you all looking at?!" Celine barked at the students that gathered and they immediately dispersed.

            "Don't look so shocked, it was either you or him." Jace said slinging his backpack over his shoulder.

           "That was awesome!" Celine gushed, "Someone needed to set him straight."

            "Well, goodbye." Jace said walking out of the school doors.

             "Won't you drop us?" Celine said running after him while dragging me with her.

             "We'll see about that!" Jace yelled.

      And that was my first day of school.
