CHAPTER-23
He got out of the maroon Maruti and stared at the heep of people who were looking expectantly at him.
Suddenly he felt a tinge of nervousness, the hand that pressed his shoulders made him look back.
Turning he saw Munshi ji standing at the side of him. He knew he would be the greatest help in his working career. He had always been by his nanu's side and now he was sure that he would always be with him also.
Nanu trusted him more and he was quite confident on his guidance for Sameer in his business world.
Smiling at the middle aged man, Sameer looked back at the bunch of people.
He gave a warm smile looking at them and they all bombarded him with all the wishes, bouquets and we'll wishing cards.
Having been done with all the welcomings he stepped inside the office.
Railing his feet through the polished floor he took a look at the office all around.
The huge building contained 3 floors.
The ground floor was probably a place for the allotees who were to be often on run to the machinery phase to keep a check them.
He felt elated seeing them working sincerely.
Next he was dragged through the 1st floor.
The whole block was divided into cabins alloted for the interns.
Almost most of them were of his age, looking upon for a new life, just like him.
Smiling at them he got through the second floor, it was a floor alloted for those, who were often to be visited by the CEO. The ones who were to be conducting the presentations and the confidencial meetings.
Mostly the second floor remained with a hustle bustle.
When he reached the last 3rd floor, he again felt nervous.
It was the floor where his nanu had his cabin. He had not differentiated any of his employees. He treated all of them equally. He wondered whether he would be good as nanaji. Because he was the best, one and only antique piece he had,the world had.
Lost in his thoughts he reached his place.
There he stood before his nanu's cabin which was his now. He grazed the nameplate "JAYPRAKASH MAHESHWARI"
Below the one, was the one with "SAMEER JAIPRAKASH MAHESHWARI"
He insisted Munshi ji not to remove the nameplate of his nanu, he wanted his nanu to be always with him, like he had always been.
Promising himself to be good, though not as best as his nanu.. he entered the cabin.
Stepping up his feet, he felt his nanu. Ofcourse he had spent most of his years here. He took a look around the cabin. He had been here when he was too young. He could hardly remember anything. After years he had been here only now.
There was a wooden table with a glass patted a above it. Infront of it it had a rolling chair coated with a fluffy leathery material.
There were two more visitor chairs placed on the other side of the table.
One side of the room was arranged neatly in a book rack with the necessary important office files. The other end of the room had a couch, again with a small glass table before.
There were two large windows, which gave a brighter view of the indehiscent sky. Between the two windows hung the picture of his nanu.
He walked towards it and joined his hands closing his eyes.
Munshi ji who seemed to be a silent spectator understood his mind.
"Fikar mat kijiye beta..ap sab sambal lenge.." he concealed.
Looking back Sameer gave a knowing smile, "aap ho.. isiliye koi fikar nahi hai.. isiliye to bina kuch tayaari ke aaya hoon"
He winked at him.
This boy had not changed, he's the same chirpy charming one. But there were two major changes in him. He was being childish and chirpy but also his voice had a machured responsible tone.
And second, the loneliness he sensed before was no more in his voice. He was happy, very happy.
This thought made him smile widely, he was genuinely happy seeing the teen boy growing into an adult.
"Aap denge na mera saath.." he asked again seeing him lost.
Munshi ji felt very happy to be with him and help him...
"Are kyu nahi..ye toh hamara farz hai.. jaise bade sahab ke saath diye..waise hi apke saath bhi denge.." he replied happily.
"Haan..jaise apne mere padosiyo ke car ke petrol churane par, unke kiski mere ball se todne par aur haan jaise mere admission pragati Vidya ka mandir mai karaya tha...bilkul waise hi mera saath dijiyega..." He gave a teasy smile to him.
"Kyu nahi beta...kushi kushi karenge.." he replied between his laughs.
Laughing along with him, Sameer reached the chair and admired it for a few minutes, imagining his nanu at the same place.
With a heavy sigh, cleaning his mind from the thoughts he took a place at the big royal chair.
Leaning back he rested the back of his head on the chair.
"Beta aaj pehla din haina..to zyada kaam nahi hai..ap aaj office aur factory ka ek round dek lena...ab to 11 baj rahe hai... 1 baje tak poora factory ap dek lo....tab tak naina bitiya bhi apki lunch bej degi.." he informed his today's happenings.
Sameer nodded and again took a glance at the room.
"Beta...mai panch minute baad aata hoon, tab tak aap poora cabin dek lijiyega.." he smiled and went out.
Sameer was very much grateful for the man at his father's age. He understood his each and every thought.
Sameer took a look of the whole office, including the backyards and godowns.
He was accompanied by Munshi ji and two others.
He took a sincere look ath the material producing areas keenly. He observed the new machineries that were new and beneficial.
He also observed a place behind the office building which was at a very small distance. He found the place quite attractive. It was not very pretty but it was very much dark and deserted.
It was showcased with peace and warmth.
He mentally thought of taking naina to this place after reforming it. It would be definitely damn romantic. He smiled at his thoughts.
Munshi ji was beside him all the way, explaining him about all the creatures that crossed apart. He even told him the lightest information.
The employees were pleasantly impressed by sameer's behaviour. He was very kind and polite to all.
He mingled very much with the factory workers. He laughed and talked very fluently with them. He felt connected towards the them. Not even for a second his charming smile left his face.
He felt contented at his research at around the office.
On the way, back to the cabin, "aaj mai naina ko sab kuch bataoonga...yaha sab bohot acche hai..mai use bataoonga to bohot kush ho jayegi.."
When he was in the cabin, chottu, the one who used to make coffee like necessary things was standing with a lunch bag in his hand.
Sameer smiled seeing that. His naina could never be late. That too after knowing about his appetite. Afterall she was a head monitor.
He settled on the couch, and chottu spread all his favourite dishes onto his plate. By the time he was going to eat the first morsel, the cordless rang.
Presuming it to be naina, he attended the call in half ring.
"Hello naina..."
No response.
"Naina..tum ho na.."
"Sameer.."
"Hayee.... bohot der ho gyi tumhari awaz sunke.."
"Muje miss kar rahe the ya meri awaz ko.." she teased.
"Tume hi to miss karta hoon, jaan...tabhi to tumhari awaz sunne ko tadap raha hoon.." he was successful in making her go all red.
"Sameer..awaz ko chodo aur batao ki tumne kana kaya..." She tried to hide her shyness.
"Abhi kane wala tha..tumne..."
"Mai bhi abhi kaane wali hoon..tumhare saath..."
"Par naina tumne itna sab kyu banaya.." he was worried of her cooking more. he must be tired.
"Kyu banaya matlab.."
"Are itni takleef kyu utayi..itna kaam karne ki zarurat nahi hai tume..kal se tum ramdhari ko bol dena.. vo bana dega.. apni jaan ko mai kaam karne nahi de sakta.." he was serious.
"Tumhari liye kaana banana mere liye takleef nahi hai Sameer...ye to mai kushi kushi karti hoon..muje sukoon milta hai..tumhare liye kaana banate huae..ab ye haq mujse cheenoge..." She pouted knowing this would surely Melt him..and it did.
"Are aisa nahi hai..mai to bas.."
"Ab baate chodo...jaldi kake batao ki kaisa bana hai.." she ordered him.
"Naina..kushbu to badi achchi aa rahi hai...mai agar aise hi kata rahoonga to mota ho jaoonga yaar.." his tongue was waiting to relish them.
"Ho jao..sacchi bohot cute lagoge..jaise tum mere gaal keenchte ho..waise hi mai bhi karoongi..." She giggled.
"Naina.." be pouted.
But soon his attention went back to the food.
"Mmm...dal tadka, malai kofta, kuttar paneer, palak paneer, rotis, puris, eice with rajma chawal aur besan ka ladoo.." he smelled one by one and started pounding on them.
"Accha hai.." she heard his noises relishing the food.
"Accha...naina mast, mazedar, zabardast, kuch to hai tumhare haatho mai..sacchi mai bohot lucky hoon." He kept on praising keeping his mouth full with the delicious food morsels.
"Tume pata hai... meri ek special ingredient hai...vo kisi aur ke paas ho hi nahi sakti.. isiliye tumhara kaana sirf mai hi banaoongi samjhe..." She said in a strict tone.
"Accha aur vo special ingredient hai kya.." he gave a lopsided smile.
"Mera pyaar... tumhare liye..." She said lovingly..
"Haye...Haye..I love you jaanu..." He kept a hand over his heart.
"Acccha, ab jaldi se poora kha lena teeke..mai rakti hoon.."
"Naina suno..."
"Kya hua.."
"Bas kuch kehna tha..."
"Kya..."
"I love you..." His voice clearly depicted his missing.
"I love you too..." She replied kissing the cordless making him stare at the cordless he was holding in shock.
Before he could realise she hanged up the call.
When he recovered, "iss cordless ki bhi kya kismat hai.." saying he went back to finish and relish the remaining food.
Having done with his lunch, he went back with the other works in the office.
