6: Haha Pete Wentz is a Vampire pt2

~Mikey's pov~ Ooooo

"... and there's your change. Have a nice day, sir." The man nodded and left the little gas station. Gerard opened the back curtain and looked out the front window from the counter.

"Is that the blue haired guy?"

"Where?"

"Right there!" He pointed, "Running towards us..."

"I think so."

"You think Y/n's near by?"

"I dunno..."

Just then the boy burst through the door, completely out of breath.

"Y/n... forest..." He began, walking up to us, "Lost... tag... help..."

"What?" I asked, very confused.

"Y/n got lost in the forest while we were playing tag... I can't find her... and you guys are the only people I know... who might be able to help." The forest... that's where the fairies live... the magic... the vampires... beasts and other things...

"I gotta go save her." I said, immediately jumping over the counter. Awsten sent a worried look.

"Why? Is there something in the forest?"

"Yeah, there's something in the forest!" I thought for a moment, "Bears! And... and wolves!" Yeah... those are non-magical things... I think...

"Oh..."

"Gerard, take over for me! I gotta go find her," Awsten began following me, "You can't come with me."

"What!? Why!?"

"Cause!" I had to think for a moment again, "You," I put my hands on his shoulders, "Have to go to the Inn! She might show up there. You should be there... if she does..."

"O-okay..." He began walking toward the Inn while I made my way to the forest. Where could she be? The fairies? Vampires? Oh Y/n... where have you gone?

"Y/n! Y/n!" I called, then stopped. Footprints... two pairs... this must've been theirs...

Running down the path they led down, eventually, they became less and less. More spread apart and harder to see. A rather large tree stood just where the footprints ended. This... this is Pete's tree! There's... yeah...

As I thought, I uncovered the secret trapdoor. She was here... I gotta get to Pete's...

Looking around, I tried to find the path towards his home. But it seemed nearly impossible. It's like... he covered it... I haven't seen him in awhile... oh wait... there's the creek! His home should be...

My gaze was lifted to find a dark Victorian style house that fit the vampire vibe well, hidden among the trees. Barely visible from where I stood. She's gotta be there...

Carefully, I crossed the short creek, quickly making my way to the front door. Knocking loud, there was no answer.

"Hello? Pete?" No response. Quickly, I searched for another way in. All the windows are boarded up or covered by nailed curtains...

"Oh but you forgot about that one..." I whispered, gazing at the window that lead to an attic. Oh yeah... it's Tarzan time...

The trees masking the gigantic house held several branches, making sneaking in easy. Slyly, I climbed the one tree with an ever so conveniently placed branch towards the roof. Standing there, I peered in. This doesn't lead to the attic... wait, there she is... oh shit!

As quick as I could, I pried open the little window. Not so slyly slipping through and hitting the ground hard with a loud crash as various items from the wall came down along with me.

"Ow..." Just as I stood up, she fell to the floor, fainting from blood loss. No...

"Mikey, it's so nice of you to join us. I was just explaining to your new friend that anyone coming for her wouldn't make it out alive." He smirked.

"Please, you don't scare me."

"You should be scared."

"Why? You're gonna, bite me!?" I asked, smirking, "You wouldn't bite me. You can't bite me."

"Yes I can! And I will!"

"Pete, gimme the girl." I stated, stepping towards him.

"No!" He stood in front of her, "Never, she's mine! I already bit her, anyways!"

"But she's still alive."

"No she's-" He stopped, looking back, he realized she was breathing. Not dead, just, fainted.

"C'mon, Pete, she's a nice girl. Just, hand her over. You're better than this." I reasoned. He only stared at me, trying to read my mind, which couldn't be done.

"I charmed it, you won't get anywhere staring at me like that."

"What connection do you have to her? Why is she so important to you? She's only a girl, why risk it?" But he didn't need to read my mind to figure it out, "Oh, dude, you like her!"

"No I don't! I- well... I dunno... but she doesn't deserve to die!" He stepped closer to me, smirking,

"Don't lie to me, Mikey babe."

"Please don't call me that. And, I'm not lying!"

"Mikey babe, you're a terrible liar. Go ahead, take her. You deserve each other," He spoke as I ran to her side, "Both so, oh what's the word? Anxious! And nervous. So awkward when it comes to most people."

"Get out of her head." I stated.

"I can't help it!" He whined, stepping closer to me, "Mikey babe..."

"Bye!" I ran out the door with Y/n in my arms before anything graphic could go down. Running until I got to the creek where I set her down for a moment.

"Y/n?" I whispered, "Y/n?" She moved ever so slightly, "Y/n? You gotta wake up..." Finally, her eyes opened.

"Mikey...? What happened?" She asked, rubbing her eyes and sitting up. What happened? Oh, I need to make something up...

"You got lost, I came to find you."

"No, there was a vampire guy," She turned to me, "Did he...?" She felt her neck, "Vampire... oh, I knew this town was strange." She tried to stand, but wasn't able to.

"Vampire guy? You must've-"

"Mikey, I know something's up."

"What? There's nothing, nothing at all."

"Look, I know you're lying to me. But if you don't wanna tell me what's going on, that's fine..." She tried standing again, but I caught her before she went face first into the dirt, "Thanks..."

"I can take you back to my place, if you'd like. It's just, I got some bug stuff I can put on your-"

"Bug bite!? Seriously!? That's the best you can come up with!? Why can't you just admit that there's a vampire in the forest?" We began walking, with her hand on my arm.

"Fine," I sighed, "Yes, there was a vampire. But you can't go telling people! If anyone knows there's vampires in our forest we could turn into government experiments or something!"

"Can I tell Awsten?"

"No, you really shouldn't have been in the forest in the first place. It's dangerous." She stayed silent, only staring at me.

"Why'd you save me?" I looked to her and smiled.

"Awsten told me you needed help. I couldn't just, stand there. I had to come."

"Y'know what Mikey? You're a good guy. Most boys at school won't even look at me. But you," She smiled, "You risked your life to come and save me. Thank you." Aww...

"It's no problem."

"Aww, you're adorable when you blush."

"What? Uhm..." I nervously laughed.

"Aww..." She stood on her tip toes and kissed my cheek, "For your troubles." She smiled.

"Thanks..." She giggled. So cute...

"Uhm, my apartment is really close. Just up there." I pointed.

"Cool..." As we walked, the day slowly became night. Bright stars replaced the white puffy clouds.

"Here we are," I said, unlocking the door, "Don't mind the boxes, I just moved in the other day. Haven't finished unpacking."

"Wow..." She began wandering around the little but very open space, "This is nice."

"It's nothing special." Slowly, her fingers held one of the few door knobs throughout the little home.

"Is this the bedroom?"

"Yeah..."

"Can I see it?" She asked, already opening the door.

"No, not allowed." I stated with a joking undertone. She looked back and smirked, opening the door.

"Woah," She began giggling at the few posters I had put up, "Mikey, I had no idea you were such a..."

"Such a what?"

"Such a nerd!" She cried, eyeing the Star Wars posters as she sat on the bed.

"I'm not that big of a nerd. Go talk to Gerard if that's what you want." I explained, sitting next to her.

"Still, it's cute though."

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah, it's adorable." I chuckled.

"Well, that's a relief. I thought you were gonna stop talking to me or something."

"Mikey, you're allowed to have interests. It's not against the law or anything." She reassured.

"C'mere, I can help get rid of that nasty vampire bite." I stood up, waiting for her to join me.

"Mkay..." She followed me to the bathroom where she sat on the toilet seat. Quickly, I grabbed the vampire bite solution from the medicine cabinet.

"Okay, this might hurt a bit. Just cause it's kinda deep."

"That's what she said." Immediately, both of us began laughing.

"Nice..." I spoke, carefully applying the solution. Once done, I couldn't help but stare at her. She's gorgeous...

"Are you done?" She asked, eyes on me.

"Oh, yeah, yeah... just keep it on for a few hours..."

"Thanks," The room went quiet for just a moment, when we both spoke, "Could I-"

"Do you wanna-"

"Oh, you can-"

"No, you go."

"It's okay, you started before me."

"Uhm, I was wondering if you wanted to stay tonight? With me?" She didn't speak, nervously I brought a hand to the side of my beanie, "Uh, just cause Awsten might be worried if he sees the bite mark and..."

"Sure, I mean... if you don't mind... I was gonna say the same thing..." She nervously giggled.

"Really? I mean, of course I don't mind." I nervously chuckled.

"Cool..." She smiled, getting up and wandering around the apartment once more. I followed, "I should probably text Awsten."

"Oh yeah, probably should've done that awhile ago..." She took a seat on the couch and began typing on the little device, quietly, I took a seat next to her.

"So, what exactly is Awsten to you? Are you friends? Or..."

"We're friends. I've known him since I was little." I nodded. Okay... interesting... they're friends... so I'm in the clear...

"Do you wanna maybe, borrow my clothes? To sleep in? I mean, you don't have to. But if you'd like..."

"Um, sure, I think it'd be good to get out of this mess of blood."

"Yeah, I'll be back." Quickly, I went to the bedroom. What do girls wear again? Nothing I have... I'll just grab something... it'll be fine... I hope...

"Here," I handed them to her, "You can change in the bathroom." She smiled, kindly.

"Thank you." She made her way into the bathroom, and I was stuck alone in the living room. I should change too...

Doing just that, I stared at myself in the mirror for a moment. Beanie on? Beanie off? She can't see my ears... she'll think I'm a freak! Beanie on...

Quickly, I joined her in the living room, on the couch.

"Dude, do you sleep in that thing?" She asked, referring to the beanie.

"Why? Does it bother you?"

"Maybe, c'mere..." She reached for it, but I dodged her hands, "What...?" And again, "Okay, why?"

"My head gets cold."

"You are such a terrible liar!"

"Am not!"

"You so are! Whatever, I'll just take it off while you're sleeping."

"Then I'll never fall asleep."

"You are so strange," I sent her a look, "It's okay, I like strange."

"Is that why you came here?" She nodded, "Do you like it so far?"

"I think so. Haven't walked around all that much."

"Cool..." She then sat close to me. My arm went around her shoulders. She feels nice...

"Mikey?" I hummed, "I think I'm gonna like you."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, you're good, I can tell." I smiled.

"Thanks..." It then went silent.

All of the sudden, she reached up and pulled me close. She felt nice. And then, she kissed me. My arms went around her as more and more kisses were exchanged.

"Oh Mikey..." She spoke. I smiled, kissing her more.

But none of that actually happened. I had only dreamt it. Waking up, it was still night time. She had fallen asleep, and for my beanie, it remained safely on my head. Who am I kidding? Once she sees my freakishly large ears she'll run away... I just, like her so much...
