Alone
We came together by fate
Our friendship contained no lies
But now it's to late
Because I must say my goodbyes
Hiccup ran after the wagon containing his best friend. Wrapped in chains, his dragon roared after him. "Toothless!" "N-no wait!" The villagers paid no heed to the teen, they continued pulling the wagon. Hiccup grabbed the edge of the cart, but he could barley keep up with it. "Toothless!" He barley managed to gasp it out as the cart hit a bump. Hiccup fell to the ground face-down. The night fury roared after his rider, but there was no way for him to escape the chains trapping him, to what was going to lead him to his prison.
Hiccup looked up seeing the fleeting form of his first best friend. Above him the lightning and thunder chorused together, sounding like laughs at his misfortune. He began to stand when he was roughly pulled back to face the one person he wanted to strangle. Mildew scanned the face of the fish one standing in front of him. This- BOY, making friends with these- BEASTS! What was he thinking! But watching the chief's son lose the one thing that kept him going, this was perfect. Soon all those dragons would be gone! He was brought out of his perfect day dream by a flash of lightning beyond the forest and the voice of the child before him.
Hiccup blamed Mildew for all of this. It was him who had convinced the village it was Toothless' fault for the lightning! Mildew seemed to be lost in his own mind and Hiccup didn't have to time to be here. He had to get his dragon back! "Are you done dreaming, or will you let me get my dragon?" He winced as the force of the old man's grip tightened around his shoulder. "Why save the beast? That dragons' gone! Be a Viking and realize your alone!" Mildew pushed Hiccup to the ground just as more lightning hit the village again. Mildew left for the village. Hiccup began breathing heavily, the pain of falling was nothing compared to the thoughts flashing through him. Is it really to late? Am I alone?
No! He wasn't alone! He got up and raced through the forest, ignoring the bleeding knee dripping drops of blood down his leg. All he cared about was reaching the docks. He wasn't alone! He- he couldn't be!
His eyes grew bloodshot red as he finally appeared on a hill that overlooked the village. The lightning and thunder crashed and echoed throughout the entire village. His eyes landed on the docks- and oh god! He ran towards the docks as if his life depended on it.
Cause his life really did.
Without Toothless,
He was alone.
I know short chapter, but I just wanted to break the story in a bit. Get ideas rolling through my brain. I expect it to be a least 5 chapters, the most 10. If you like it so far, review and tell me to keep it going. I am an account on fan fiction.net also by the same username. This story will also be there and others to. Also I don't know where that poem come from in the beginning. It just came into my mind and I wrote it. Thanks and please review!
