Chapter Twenty-Seven

Stampy groaned quietly and opened his eyes, he noticed he was laying down. But he was alive. He tried to sit up and help his friends, but his body wouldn't let him. His vision cleared and he saw a sword-wielding, bashed up, Lee, clearly trying to protect him but not knowing he was awake yet. He turned his head slowly, looking at another figure: Squid. He smiled upon seeing he was at least alive. Then it hit him. Lee was the only one who hasn't been knocked unconscious, meaning for the whole time he was out, Lee had to ward off HTT long enough to get them to a safe place.

Stampy finally was able to sit up, alarming Lee enough to make him jump. He quickly said that he was okay and smiled. Lee nodded and leaned against the wall of...wherever they were.

"Where are we?" Stampy asked quietly, not sure if HTT was on their tails/tentacles or not. "The cave you can see from your balcony." Lee whispered back, his voice was hoarse and he looked exhausted.

"How long was I out...?" Stampy dreaded that question. Lee thought for a moment. "About thirty minutes." He said. Stampy gaped at him, completely shocked. "Thirty minutes!?" He blurted out, then covered his mouth. Lee nodded. "I protected you, though! So it's okay!" He smiled. "Lee Bear, it's not okay! You got hurt!" Stampy said worriedly.

Lee's smile faded. He sighed. "I have to protect you." He said. Stampy put a hand on his shoulder. "You don't have to put your own life on the line for mine." He said. Lee looked up at him. "I know." He muttered. Stampy stared at him for a minute before hugging him tightly. "I appreciate what you did, but you could have died out there! He's too powerful!" Stampy said, pulling away from him.

"I know! My instincts just kicked in and..." He trailed off. Stampy sighed. "You don't have to apologize for your instincts, Lee Bear." He smiled softly. Lee nodded. Squid lifted his head and looked around. "Guys?" He asked, getting up. They both gasped and ran over.

"Squid! Are you alright, mate?" Stampy asked and helped him up. He nodded. "My neck's a little sore, but I'm fine otherwise." He chuckled. They nodded and got out of the little cave. Everything seemed normal, but they were still cautious. Stampy's eyes widened and he ran to the DogHouse, gasping when his dogs were gone. He looked around and called them, hoping they were hiding. No one came. He almost broke into a sob, but he stayed strong. He ran out and told the other two, who gasped.

"Oh no! It's all my fault, I'm so sorry Stampy! I forgot about the dogs!" Lee pleaded, looking terribly guilty. Stampy rushed over and rubbed his shoulder. "It's not your fault, it's okay! You couldn't have gotten the dogs, you're fine." Stampy smiled. Lee looked away and nodded a little.

"Let's get cleaned up..." Stampy said, getting them inside. They cleaned up and bandaged their wounds. They quickly got over the pain, jumping into action by getting weapons ready to fight Hit once again. They ran out, going to the last place they fought him. They busted in and yelled for him to come out. They heard footsteps all around them.

Squid looked around and pointed out a shadow on the wall, making Stampy and Lee look as well. They clutched their weapons and went into attack mode, fully ready to beat HTT.

Some googlies dropped from the floor and started leaping onto the trio. They fought them off pretty well, having to deal with this often so it wasn't a big deal. HIT walked into the room, a smirk on his face as his cape swooshed in the background to make a mysterious effect. The corpses of Skeletons, Spiders, and Zombies lay on the ground and against the wall.

The trio panted and held their weapons close, ready to charge at Hit at any time. "You have my dogs!  Give them back to us!" Stampy exclaimed, anger in his voice. Hit smirked and crossed his arms. "You expect me to listen to you? Oh, silly kitty..." He purred and walked towards them. They backed away, hitting the wall.

Stampy suddenly pulled out his bow, shooting Hit in the neck. He growled in pain and stepped back, grabbing the arrow and trying to get it out. The three made a run for it, getting into the rooms with the cells. They freed the dogs and made a run to the door. They made it out but Hit was close behind.
