[😲] I Can't Lose You... [❤️]
Ah yes, it's eradication time
- Mr. Ruru (ykwho) -
This is a pretty wholesome oneshot between Dr Sophie and Eradicator da Robot.
Sophie Millia owned by Sophie_flows
AND NO THIS IS NOT A SHIP!
Dr Sophie kinda sees Erad as her child.
Erad acknowledges her as his new 'owner' (slowly developing into a mother figure)
ENJOY.
[btw Narrator the Author will only cook full fluff and crack, xD]

_________________________________________
A killer machine.
A creation made with ambition and soul.
In literal meaning.
A prideful creation from The Creator.
But...
That fateful fight.
It was never the same again.
It fled.
Escaped from Death's grasp.
LEAVING EVERYTHING IMPORTANT TO ITS.
EVEN ITS CREATOR.
"How long can you go, little Erad? I can catch you whenever I like, but I'll give you some times to run until out of fuel..."
The sound of death, once in a while, appeared in its system.
There's no option wise, but run.
But...where?
A figure in a pink dress that was knitted carefully, probably made by her, was swamping herself with work and many other stuffs.
No, she didn't hate to work or anything, nor was she forced. It was just that there's nothing else to satisfy her boredom other than busy worksheets prepared for her job.
The beefing on the news was...rather confusing. A tall robot stomped over the whole school, but got crushed down easily...Meh, it's not like she cared.
[chapter 1 reference oioioi]
The paperwork on her desk began to be finished 1 by 1, leaving only a single paper that she had already done with.
An application for a job in Epsilon Research Base. Oh boy and girl, they thought it'd be nice to have a black hole as an energy core. And she often skipped job just for...no reason whatsoever.
She didn't feel the need to live, at that moment. Her husband, her kids, her father, all gone. Going somewhere else that she couldn't follow.
there used to be a someone she cared for.
The Creator (proclaimed).
Her name was Xenon, she believed....Isn't that an element?
They actually got pretty close during the time in Epsilon Base, doing experiments and calamities around the research base.
That colleague of her had also told her about her own creations, the Eradicator line...sounds like it. It never sounded peaceful in any meaning when mentioning about a war machine, Sophie refused to hear.
But now that she's...gone? Deflected? Executed? Injured? Who really knows, Xenon lived very privately.
That got Sophie thinking.
'What's so bad about the Eradicator line?'
2 different fates, never the same.
Are you sure that they couldn't meet one other?

Sophie Millia's POV.
(1st)
As I walked back home, I noticed...a decaying smell from a robot? I think that was a robot, considering that around me were all the robotic mess.
When investigating further, I found a rather tarnished and rotting figure...it was pretty big and something, around 20 feet. And it looked like it was in pain, but no noise was made.
The rocket pod and blaster were terribly scarred and torn up, leaving many huge tangling mess of wires. Its back was torn a huge mark, leaving its core exposed to the environment, and its head wasn't aby better.
As I crouched down to have a clearer look, the robot suddenly released electric particles and began rebooting itself. Perhaps, it was the mark on ite back that generated loud noises like those clashing electric.
"Y-YOU." The red dot glared directly at my soul, as it tried to get up clumsily, but failed and kept falling down the ground, its energy blade dull and destroyed. "KILL ME WHENEVER YOU WANT, MY MISSION IS COMPLETED."
"Wo-owah! Calm down, robot, you cannot get up right now, and I'm not here to kill you!" I tried making my point to get the robot's trust, and it's not like I could kill it. Robots are cool! But war machines definitely are not.
"AND HOW CAN I TRUST YOU." Its...mechanical mouth, rather broken and unhinged, made noise to defy my help. I believed that it was betrayed to the point it couldn't trust anybody, or it was just how it was built.
I pulled out my research card (like that'd work) to prove my innocence. "Hey, look! Dr Sophie Millia from Epsilon Research Base! I work for the Research Silo, which often used black holes as energy for some reasons."
Its mechanical eye...yeah, only one, scanned through my application, before finally going soften as its death glare turned into a normal glance.
"DOCTOR SOPHIE...MY CREATOR MENTIONED A LOT ABOUT YOU..." It finally dropped its guard down, as I sighed with satisfaction and kneeled down at its injuries. "WHAT ARE YOU...TRYING?"
"Looking for your injuries and bandage it." I spoke as my rough hands scattered around its metal plates, some oxidized and some destroyed. Luckily, my backpack had enough irons to temporarily help it move. "Stay still, I'll fix these issues of yours."
"I SAID, THERE'S NO NEED." It tried to not bother me, moving away but instantly fell down the floor, its jaw horribly ripped off. "AS A MACHINE MYSELF, THESE INJURIES ARE NOTHING."
"Nothing? NOTHING!? YOUR WIRES ARE ALL OVER THE FLOORS!" I rushed quickly at the robot, trying to paralyze it so I could fix these issues. Who could have torn up such beauty of technology like this? Even then, the metals made for its armor were ones I'd never seen...
"..." It finally stayed on the floor, letting me wrap the markings after a lot of attempts of moving away, thank SFOTH! "WHY ARE YOU EVEN...DOING, THIS?"
"Because everyone needs treatment, no matter whoever or whatever they are." Hastily answering, I got out my examiner and recorded the inside of the machine...
It was going to be much harder with me alone, considering how brutally hurt it must had been...Struggling to even move..
"Hey..Machine, who is your creator?"
"I AM NOT OBLIGED TO REVEAL YOUR QUESTION, BUT I'M SURE SHE KNOWS YOU."
"And...can I get your name? Codename, some sort?"
"MARK 1."
"Alright, Mark 1! I will be taking you to my research base because all of these issues are too critical to be fixed immediately."
"..I CANNOT BE IN DEBT WITH MY CREATOR'S COLLEAGUE. MY PRIDE WILL BE TORN. I WILL DIE WITH PRIDE AS AN ERADICATOR."
"E...Erad?"
Suddenly, I remembered something. Xenon always wanted to show me her robotic lines of Eradicators...So these were the war machines that destroyed civilians?
But...I couldn't leave it here, could I? It was just on verge of dying, with nobody to help and just being rotten minutes by minutes..I didn't want it to have such gruesome death.
"No, Erad. You're coming with me. I will not let you die."

Eradicator's POV.
(3rd)
The surgery was successful and sufficient, with expert hands and assistance, especially from Sophie.
Even if her colleagues demanded that she immediately destroyed the war machine, much to its agreement, Sophie kept denying.
"We cannot take the risk, Soph! What if it deflected and destroyed our base!?"
"I WILL DO EVERYTHING TO KEEP IT PASSIVE."
"How can you prove it!? THE BASE WOULD HAVE BEEN EXPLODED BY THEN!?"
"I can fix it. Just, let me try. Nothing is impossible."
That was the first time it felt that somebody cared for it.
"ALRIGHT, DUMBASS. IF YOU DIE, IT'S YOUR ISSUE!"
The person was right.
It was nothing more useful than a machine.
A...machine. A construct made of wars. For wars.
Even its creator never really valued much of their usability, only upgrading and leaving it alone like always.
Its jaw was not unhinged anymore, all markings were painted and wrapped with such careful hands made by Soph. Nobody else. Absolutely nobody but her.
'WHAT MADE ME SO WORTHY, FOR..HER?'
Even after 24 hours of work, Sophie didn't even nap. Yes, you heard it, she guarded the room holding the paralyzed Eradicator, wires after wires were untied and reconnected again.
And her glance, too. That wasn't a glance of scientists examining their test subjects. That was...a look, of worry and concern...what were feelings again?
It began questioning itself, deeming the existence of it as a disgust of its creator's legacy. First, running from a fight. Then, suffering critical damage and worst of all, never able to protect its creator.
It could have died. Ought to be torn. Or committed Kamikaze..but no, Soph saved it.
After getting fixed, it would ask her questions deeming her motive to save it.
For now, whom should be worried was Sophie Millia.
It really hoped she didn't die before it...
"Erad? Eraddddddd??? Eradicator?"
Its eye dimmed, as a red dot flicked on its mechanical mask.
In front of it, was Dr Sophie with her usual worrying face...but now, it was switched with a blissful one.
"You're back! Oh my SFOTH, I thought you'd not make it!" She cheered for it so...childishly..kind of like a 23-year-old even though she looked 59. "But hey, who should be happy? You! Cmon, try to speak!"
"..."
Nothing.
"D-Did I do anything wrong? M-My apology.." Soph began to tear up from embarrassment as she sat down on the chair and tried to calm herself down.
Most of the times, Erad saw that as a disgusting look, one that must be deleted...but now, he was a fool.
A fool for letting a scientist it'd never met. Save it. Revive it. Not giving a painful death for such worthless creation like it...How disappointing.
"..." It wasn't comfortable to communicate right now. More like, it was afraid she'd tear up again from another failed resurrection. Who would expect anything from an eradicating machine?
In the surgeon room,
Only 2 stayed.
The paralyzed robot.
And a lost scientist.
Perhaps,
They couldn't be connected?

Narrator's POV.
(3rd)
It has been 3 months since Soph brought it to Epsilon Research Base.
No day was missing Sophie Millia, both in work and when visiting Erad.
Every colleague of her assumed that she was too curious on her experiment, as Erad believed.
It didn't want to hope. It knew that it'd be tested on and experimented on by those scientists. It'd be another painful ending for it. Another bad one for such worthlessness.
And there was Soph. Its 'archenemy', who kept on assisting and treating it well, maybe even too much. She always tried to make it respond to her, but often felt sad because there was nothing but silence. This had happened, for a whole duration of 3 months.
A feeling rose in its core.
Regret.
It wasn't supposed to have feelings.
It was destined to kill.
And...
Here we are.
"MY CONCERN FOR YOU, DOCTOR SOPHIE." It finally spoke, but not for its safety. For its savior's safety, its concern was direct at her. The doctor rose her head up from her arms sleepily, yawning from tiredness.
It could only give a glance of concern. No scientist would have saved it, but her. What did it even have for her to care so much, other than the interest in machinery?
"Mmm.." Sophie rubbed her eyes, vision slowly gaining as she glanced at the Erad looking at her with worry. "Oh hey, little Erad..How's your sleep?"
"I HAVEN'T SLEPT, YET." It spoke, which surprised and freaked Soph out. The radiant aura spread from her to it, making the robot sensing an aura of surprise and happiness. "..MY APOLOGIES FOR NOT ANSWERING ME EARLIER."
Soph only rubbed her tears and nodded happily. It believed that she got freaked out from it...
"MY...MY CONCERN FOR YOUR HEALTH, DOCTOR SOPHIE." It made a concern tone, showing some cares to the awfully-tired scientist, who denied sleeping and only slept when Eradicator could move. "I UNDERSTAND."
"Hmm, I think that name was perhaps..too genocidal..how about Mark?"
"MY...MY NAME?"
"A deal it is! You're now Mark and my new assistant! Now take a rest, I'll return later!"
Sophie left the room, hopping around in excitement and bliss.
Making the robot flustered.
What's so special about a robot? It didn't even know her at the beginning, yet she became so close to it in a few months...and soon enough, that might be a problem for such cold-blooded machinery like it.
But, it didn't resist. Weird, huh? Aren't robots supposed to wreak havoc and kill innocents? Like the reason of existence for Eradicator?
I cannot tell the answer.

5 Months went by...
"MISS SOPHIE, I AM NOT FOND OF THIS IDEA."
"Cmon, little Mark! What's so wrong about working in Bayside High School?"
"EVERYTHING."
Mark and Sophie had gotten REALLY close to each other, practically able to compensate one's mind before other even talked. Like a duo, basically.
And with time, Soph got closer with Mark. Not in a romantic way, just...getting so protective of him lately. Not even allowing him to go wreak havoc, which was a habit of the Eradicators.
Most of the time, Mark returned with very critical damage, forcing Sophie to wake up the whole night fixing those. Even if Mark pleaded to not tire herself, she kept on doing so.
"You're just..so similar, to my child..an arrogant but caring and soft boy- I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that..."
And that was the only time Soph cried in front of the robot.
And the first time Mark let her sleep in his robotic laps, trying to protect her while not squeezing her.
Many other researchers thought that it was disgusting to have a war machine as a 'child', but Aoph didn't really care and kept on spending time with him.
Their bond had since then, grown up quickly but passionately.
More like, Sophie's side.
She saw him as her adoptive son now.
Her only one.
And Eradicator?
Let's just say, he often pronounced her 'mistress'.
In a respectful term.
Not a normal one.
Out of topic again, but this time. Mark was the one to advise her to not do this. Often it was Sophie doing the persuasion. Not him.
"Hey! Cmon Mark! It's nothing much..Just another one random job!" Sophie made a rather...boring point, but Mark never disagreed. And that qas how Sophie became a new professor in HSC..
2 months later..
"I MUST GO, MISS SOPHIE."
Eradicator's eye was brimming with fire of hatred and destruction.
It was him. The one who killed its colleagues.
"No, Mark! You can't go! You'll die! And Lukoil that person might be too dangerous!" Sophie pleaded with sadness, trying to keep Mark back. The robot sighed and crouched down, patting her head with its big finger.
"DON'T WORRY, DOCTOR SOPHIE. I WILL RETURN, AND I WON'T DIE." Eradicator gave her a burning core of its old crewmate. "THIS CORE WILL TELL YOU MY VITAL STATUS...IF IT IS LIT UP, I'M STILL ALIVE AND WELL. I WON'T DIE, I PROMISE."
"B-But-" Sophie tried making a point, but looking at its eye that was filled with determination, she couldn't do anything. "Fi-Fine...Just be back whenever you finish your job, idiot.."
"I'M GLAD, MISTRESS." Eradicator stood up, before readying its rockets and flew away, directly into the sky.
Leaving Sophie Millia alone again.
Hands holding its core.
"Please, Mark."
She prayed.
"Stay alive and safe..."
"I can't lose you..."
