I'm Raina and this is my journey, on how I found my mate.

It's my seventeenth birthday today. My father the 'alpha' of this pack, has a whole big thing planned for today. He has invited mainly everyone from different packs all over the world. I think, at least that's what he said.

"Have you figured out what you're going to wear for tonight?" Zara my best friend asked as she lay on my bed flicking through the channels.

"No, not yet," I replied anxiously. "To be honest I am not looking forward to this, but at the same time I am. I mean what if he doesn't show up or what if he's some arrogant ass. Or some possessive guy who tells me what to do. What if..."

"That's a lot of what if's you know?" Zara giggled as she carried on talking. "Listen Raina your my best friend, I know you better than anyone, I know that you wouldn't let anyone control you, hell they'd be crazy to." She laughed at her joke. "I'm sure everything will be fine."

Zara jumped off the bed and walked past me to get to my closet. "Now I being your best friend will find you a killer outfit that will make your mate go crazy for you?" She said eagerly jumping up and down excitedly.

Zara is a rather optimistic sort of gal. She'd always see the good in things that's what I mostly love about her, that and her amazing taste in clothes. She has beautiful golden blonde hair which brings out her big eyes. She is a very tall girl compared to me, I'm least 5'4 and Zara had the perfect figure which I had to admit I am jealous of her. She also had found her mate already Mark who is already in this pack which made it much easier for them both.

Zara reached up to grab a big pink wrapped box from the top shelf of my closet. I was curious as to what it was inside when a large smile was stretched across her face and she handed it to me.

"Come on, open it," She said clapping her hands excitedly.

I walked over to sit on my bed and then I opened the pink box. When I opened it there was a gorgeous creamy coloured dress inside it. I lifted it up and examined it. It was a beautiful flowy boho styled dress that had a cute little sequin design at the neck line and the sleeves were long and flowy too. It was super cute.

Before I could open my mouth to say anything Zara spoke. "Think of this as an early birthday present but wait that's not all, take another look inside the box."

I did as she said and looked under all the tissue paper and found this sparkly jewellery box. Inside lay a beautiful silver charm bracelet. It had different cute charms on it, like a wolf. There was a red ruby charm that was engraved with forever.

"I don't know what to say," I said honestly so flabbergasted.

"You don't have to say anything," Zara replied. I ran over to her and hugged her tightly. "Zara what would I do without you?" I asked.

"Oh I don't know probably be lying in your room feeling pity for yourself," We both started laughing. "Now hurry and get your booty into that dress, you don't want to be late for your Prince Charming."

I just laughed at her and went into the bathroom with the dress. Once I had the dress on, I was shocked to how perfect it fit my body. I paired the dress with my favourite pair of brown thick heels. I heard a light knock on the door and then I turned the door handle and the door swung open fast making me jump back quickly. It was only Zara who was jumping up and down holding my makeup bag and a curling wand.

"Ohhh mehh gawddd," She screamed loudly. "You look totally hot girl."

I laughed, "Why thank you my dear, I have this rather amazing friend who has the best taste in fashion you'd love her."

"I love her already," She grinned. Then she walked over to me and started brushing my long blonde hair and taking pieces of my hair to curl it with the curling wand. Half an hour had past and my makeup and hair was already finished. I picked up the beautiful bracelet that Zara had got me and asked her to clip it on for me. Now I was all ready to go...

"RAINA GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!" My fathers voice shouted loudly from downstairs.

"Oh great, big Alpha strikes again," I sarcastically spoke.

"Come on," Zara said while linking her arm with mine.
When we stood at the top of the stairs my dad's face was furious his eyes swirling with intensity making me even more eager to irritate him.

"You called?" I asked trying to make my voice sound polite giving him a cheeky smile.

"You were supposed to be downstairs already, the guests are arriving," He clenched his fists as if he was trying to control his wolf from coming out. God why do Alpha's get so worked up about pointless little things. That time of the month.

"Yeah, yeah well we're here now so..." Me and Zara walked down the stairs and walked right past him. Before we could walk out the door to outside where the party was held he grabbed my arm and pushed me into the wall.

"You better be on your best behaviour tonight understand!" He growled and gripped both my arms tightly.

"Whatever," I spoke under my breath but I knew he had heard me.

"I'm sorry I don't think I heard you clearly," He retorted gripping my arms tighter.

"I said okay," I paused. He let go of my arms. "Alpha" I grinned then wrapped my arm around Zara's arm again and we both walked outside laughing.
