Chapter Ten: Needed Answers
Needed Answers ⏸
"Sister, you're home!" two elderly women squealed, at Egntha.
"Yes, I am and I brought-"
"-the chosen one," Martha interrupted.
"The chosen one?" Maira laughed, "Of what exactly?"
"Here, sit down," Agatha said, placing Maira at the only table found in their house, "I'll make you some tea,"
"And I'll bring you some jam tarts,"
"Oh, thank you very much! But you really don't have to-"
"Nonsense child!" Martha scolded, heading for the kitchen.
As Maira sat there, watching the three sisters move around, her eyes began to wander around the space she was in. On the left side of the house, there was a black cauldron with a four legged stool below it, not too far away from the fireplace. Old books and bizarre ingredients stuffed in bottles were found on multiple shelves that were hung on the walls. On Maira's right side was the kitchen where Martha and Agatha were preparing the snacks. The table where she sat was the center of it all. Four wooden chairs surrounded it and one big candle was found in the middle.
Interrupting Maira's observation, Egntha said, "Maira, I'll like you to meet my sisters,"
"I'll be delighted," she replied, as Egntha took a seat beside her.
"Martha is the one who will be serving you the jam tarts and Agatha the tea,"
"Your names are similar. Egntha, Martha and Agatha,"
"That's because we're triplets!" Agatha revealed.
Wow!
"That's right! We're known as The Blind Triplets of the Desert," Martha elaborated as she placed some jam tarts before Maira.
"Thank you and-- Wait what?! Blind?"
"Yes, we're all blind!" Martha exclaimed, pulling out a chair.
"Who would've thought? It doesn't come off as such,"
"When it's been centuries, you get comfortable," Agatha said, serving everyone a cup of tea and taking a seat as well.
"We see with our ears, tongue, skin and nose," Martha specified.
"Ooh! I could never imagine!" Maira was horrified at the thought. She preferred all five of her senses working together.
"Heheheheheh!" the old triplets laughed.
Seeing the three sisters laughing together made Maira think of her family back home and all the memories they've shared. It saddened her to know that she won't be seeing them anytime soon or maybe, never at all.
"Egntha, I need a new homeland," Maira said with some thought.
"Everybody does at some point,"
"Will this Qabilah you speak of lead me to one?"
"Listen child. Remember these words of wisdom; Home is wherever your mind pictures, your legs can take you or where your heart finds love," Egntha said.
"The possibilities are endless," Maira whispered more to herself.
"Basically,"
"Thank you for saving me from my execution, thank you for allowing me to cheat death-"
"You're welcome, but remember female dog! No one cheats death, death cheats you,"
"Hmmmm,"
"You have a lot of difficulties ahead of you," the triplets said, patting Maira's left hand all at the same time.
"If I am allowed, I have one more favour to ask of you three,"
"And what may that be?" Martha asked, with a sneaky smile across her face.
"A potion or a spell perhaps?" Agatha inquired.
"Yes,"
"We thought you'll never ask!" Egntha blurted out, with a coy expression.
"To the cauldron!" Martha instructed, as they all followed.
"Let us warn you first," Agatha began.
"Magic always comes with a price,"Egntha continued.
"Obviously the price depends on what you request," Martha elaborated.
"Money?"
"Money is worthless to magic,"
"Then what isn't?"
"Name your request and magic will name its price,"
"A potion or a spell that can transform a man into a permanent werewolf!"
"That cannot be done!" Agatha stated.
"You're asking the impossible!" Martha exclaimed.
"You might as well ask me to be a dragon!" Egntha mocked.
"Please tell me there's an alternative? Anything, even if it's not permanent?"
"Why?" Agatha asked.
"For your human friends?" Egntha questioned.
"Are you in love with one of them?" Martha inquired.
"No, far from that!"
"Weeell, there might be a way," Egntha said, looking at her sisters.
"We could do a temporary transformation," Agatha explained.
"That's good!"
"Okay," Martha said.
"Shall we begin sisters?" Egntha asked.
"Yes!" they responded.
"Hold on!" Maira interrupted.
"What is it now?" Agatha questioned, annoyed.
"Could I have a portion for three?"
"Okay but the price is tripled," Martha said.
"That's fine with me. And I'll also love three little bottles of lupus wort,"
"That will cost money!" Egntha stated.
"Do you have some on you?" Agatha inquired.
"No, but I'll ask Abraham," Maira said searching herself, "I'm sure he'll pay for me,"
"After all he's done for you," Egntha started, "you'll make him spend money on you as well?"
"I-I-"
"Don't bother," Agatha interrupted.
"I'll pay him back! As soon as I-"
"Keep quiet!" They all said together, their voices echoing across the house.
"Cum potestas penes nos petimus arcanum surgere viribus a nobis! Rogamus inviolateque observandum ad celsitudinem est nobis permittere mutatio!" the cauldron started.
"3 ounces of werewolf blood! 3 strands of werewolf fur! 3 werewolf teeth! 3 werewolf claws! 3 oak leaves!" they chanted, pouring each ingredient into the pot, "and finally, before the drinker swallows this liquid, they must add a drop of their blood into the mix or else!"
The cauldron boiled violently, the substance inside bubbling loudly, smelling awful! The witches looked at Maira one last time before finalizing the potion, "Lupus est lupus est homo homini, et fiat!"
"Is it done?"
The witches each took a gripper and brought out three small glass bottles each closed by a cork from the cauldron. They were each filled with a green liquid.
"Yes, there you go," the blind witches said, each respectively handing her a bottle.
"Thank you,"
"And here is one bottle of lupus wort," Egntha said taking it from one of the shelves hung on the wall, "there is enough for three people,"
"Thank you," Maira said, taking the bottle from Egntha.
"And here is a pouch for your products," Martha said, throwing it into Maira's hands.
"Oouuh!" Maira yelled surprised, catching the pouch, "Thank you again!"
"You can have the lupus wort for free-- and do not thank us anymore! Consider it as a gift for all the hardships you'll be facing," Agatha said.
"Okay,"
"Off you go now," Martha said kicking Maira out of their cottage.
As soon as the girl was out of their home, the entire cottage and its surrounding changed into a palm tree. A regular one without writings.

12:00 AM (Sunrise)
"We're here, The Great Water Pack!" Beta Tadashi announced as him and his warriors approached the great water gates.
When Beta Tadashi and his warriors stood in front of the great water gates, twenty werewolves surrounded them.
A warrior in man form came forward and asked "Who do we have the honor of welcoming or attacking?"
"I am Beta Tadashi! I come here in peace to meet your superiors in the name of Alpha Ezekiel!"
"A royal permit scroll to prove your rendez-vous and identity please," he asked, breaking the wolves circle to get closer to the newcomers.
"Here," Tadashi handed to him.
"I am General Benjamin Oliver Davis. Follow me, I'll accompany you," he instructed, as the great water gates open.
General Davis led Tadashi and his men into a building not too far from the pack's entrance to register them into the visitor system. It was a big white building known as the waiting or registration hall.
"Gentlemen, take a seat! Our Beta will be with you shortly,"
"Thank you,"
14:34 AM, FRIDAY
"Warriors!" Beta Imari called to Tadashi and his men.
"Ah-woooooo," they howled.
"You are welcomed to our pack brothers," Imari laughed giving Tadashi a hug.
"It's been a while!" Tadashi replied.
"It has, and we're both betas now,"
"I know," he said, releasing their hug.
"We shall go for our traditional run with our men together and then meet my Alpha,"
"Sounds good to me,"
"Let's go wolves!"
"You heard Beta Imari, let's go," Tadashi said to his men. They all left the building one by one transforming into wolves.
22:49 AM, FRIDAY
"Alpha Dubaku, they're all yours," Imari said leaving Tadashi and his companions with his Alpha on the training field.
"Alpha of the Water Pack," Tadashi bowed.
"Beta of the Earth Pack," Alpha Dubaku greeted back.
"Men, howl!" Tadashi ordered to his wolves.
"Ahh-woooooo," they howled to show respect and a sign of unity.
"Ahhh-woooooo," the great Alpha of the Water Pack howled to show authority.
"Tadashi! Won't you and your men, train with us?"
"Of course Alpha, but I wanted to ask you if I could meet with one of your best water healers,"
"That could be arranged after lunch,"
"Okay,"
"We'll train, clean up, have lunch at 25:00 PM and after meet with my niece,"
"Sounds like a schedule! Speaking of your niece, I heard you have a son now,"
"Yeah I do," he said with a smile.
"How old is he?"
"A year and 8 months,"
"Wow, that's good,"
"Yeah, let us begin training. Shall we?"

The Sacred lagoon of the Water Pack was found under an enormous cave, so huge that trees grew inside of it. The water from the lagoon occasionally releases steam which transfers a powerful energy around the place.
At the edge of the lagoon was a young beautiful lady meditating in a simple navy blue long sleeved maxi dress.
"Nakia,"
"Yes uncle?" she answered not bothering to turn around.
"Beta Tadashi would love to consult with you,"
"What about?"
"Ask away Tadashi,"
"We need your help back in our pack," he said getting on one knee, his head down.
"You want me to leave my pack to go to your's?"
"Yes, my Alpha needs you,"
"Uncle, do you need me?"
"For now, no,"
"You don't mind if I leave? You don't think Tadashi and his Alpha are asking too much?"
"You're the best water healer, the decision is entirely yours,"
"But you're my Alpha,"
"If you decide to leave with him and his men, let me know beforehand so Imari can accompany you,"
"Okay,"
"My apologies, but Lady Nakia, my men and I are in a rush. We would really appreciate it if you don't take your time to make a decision,"
"I'll give you my answer by tomorrow morning,"
"Thank you," he said, standing up to leave with Alpha Dubaku, all while Nakia continued her meditation not even bothering to spare them a glance.

30:07 PM, FRIDAY
"Excuse me?" Amira said, grabbing a guard's attention as Lamine followed behind her. They were at Alpha Ezekiel's office entrance.
"May I help you?"
"I would like to meet with our Alpha,"
"Oh! You're that witch's mom?" he chortled.
"I beg your pardon?!" Amira asked, angered.
"Sweetheart, he's not worth it," Lamine said, taking ahold of her hand.
She took a deep breath and repeated herself, "I would like to meet with our Alpha,"
"I heard you the first time," the guard said annoyed.
"Okay, and!?"
"With that attitude, I don't think I can help you," he rolled his eyes.
"Look brother!" Lamine said, pushing the guard against the wall, "It's been a long day for all of us! Go get the fucking Alpha, we demand an audience with him!"
The guard coughed while he nodded his head up and down, barely able to breathe.
"Do you need us to pull some magic tricks on you for you to understand our urgency?" Amira asked with a smirk.
He nodded his head left and right in response.
"Lamine let him go!" Amira told her love.
The guard dropped to the ground coughing, trying to gasp for air.
"Get your ass up and fetch me the Alpha! We'll wait for him here," Lamine ordered, pissed off.
