Read Prologue before reading Chapter 1

Intruder

PRESENT DAY/ YEAR 15449... ⏸

"Give me a rising punch Maira!" Sensei ordered me as we trained in the forest under the searing sun. "Give me a double punch! Now give me a circular punch! A jab punch!" He kept instructing me as I practiced my moves to excellency.

"A lunge punch!" I did as I was told and Arcadius said,"Do it again and with more precision!"

"Urrghh!" I grunted doing the gesture precisely with all my sweat in motion.

"Okay a three punch combination! One more time! A mountain punch!" Sensei yelled every time I accomplished an action.

"Fair enough, trainings over." He said backing away from me to grab his bottle of water that was on a huge rock. Before Sensei could take his drink, he jumped at me unexpectedly and yelled,"Now obstruct my atttack with a butterfly block!"

I blocked his advances perfectly and retreated to bow, "Thank you for your time today, Sensei."

"The pleasure is all mine." He said then drank his water. "Now! Do you really want to fight for real?"

"Yes! This is what I've been preparing myself for all my life." I answered taking off my training gloves.

"So you think you're ready?" Sensei asked in a challenging manner.

"Positive." I replied determinably.

"Break that boulder Maira!" He said pointing at the huge rock he had his bottle of water on previously. "Break it with your bare hands and we'll see." Sensei said leaning against a tree to observe me. I guess it shouldn't be hard breaking a boulder since I'm a werewolf.

I advanced myself to the big rock, inhaled deeply, readied my stance and attacked. When I did, the rock barely had a crack. "What's going on?" I asked confused. I can't believe I couldn't break it!

"This isn't an ordinary rock. I brought it with me before you arrived for our training session." He said grabbing his bag to pack his belongings.

"Then what type of rock is this? Where did you get it?" I had already noticed that the boulder was never here when we trained in the past. I didn't ask him anything about it in the beginning of our session today because he normally moves items around the forest.

"If you can't break it, you don't deserve to know." He said strictly. I simply gave him a nod feeling intimidated by his tone. "Tomorrow I can't train with you but I still expect you to be here and practice intensely."

"Yes Sensei, you know I shall." I said also taking my things to leave.

Dinner time...

"Pass me the chicken pan please." My older sister, Samia said.

"Here you go." I said handing it to her.

Samia is twenty two years old, I'm going to be eighteen in three weeks, Dyna is fourteen, Azra is ten years old and Farhad, the only boy, is six years old. I don't know why my parents decided to have five kids when they know they're not good financially. At the same time I'm glad they did because I couldn't imagine life without my siblings.

"How was training today with Arcadius?" My father asked cutting some bread to eat with his meal.

"The usual... but tomorrow he'll be absent. Don't know why." I said shrugging my shoulders. My parents immediately looked at each another like they knew something.

"Oh it's not a big deal sweetie, when he's absent you train alone right?" My mother asked eating dinner.

"Yes." I answered.

"Just be careful not to get caught training." My father said. "I know dad. You don't need to remind me every time." I said in amusement.

"You know it's against the rules for a girl to learn any type of fighting skills unless she's the Luna or was specifically chosen for the WCA." We all said at the same time and then bursted out laughing. Even little Farhad memorized this sentence. My father says this every little chance he gets.

"I'm just looking out for you." He said with a smile.

"Since you're our little warrior you'll get the extra chicken thigh." My mom said placing the thigh in my plate.

"Thank you so much. Truly, thank you!" I said touched.

"You don't need to thank us. You just training hard and earning your diploma this year will be your sign of gratitude." My father said proudly.

"Yeah..." My mom added.

"I already earned my diploma four years ago!" Samia said feeling good about herself. "And now I'm a nurse in training. By the end of this year, I might just be the first nurse in our family!"

I'm really happy for her.

"Isn't that cool..." Azra said sarcastically. "I'm planning on being a doctor which is much more worthy of praise than a nurse."

"Both are equally worthy of praise." My father said to Azra.

"Sure... Whatever." She replied.

I think we all noticed Azra is the sarcastic sibling.

She loves reading a lot about science, the werewolf anatomy and the human body at the public library.

Azra will borrow so many science books with her library card and bring them home to lock herself in our room to read them.

"Dad... Farhad is going to be eight yrs old in two years." I said still eating my food.

"Yeah! I'm going to be eight in two years and I'm ready to fight everyone." Farhad said getting off his chair to show us his fake karate moves.

Too cute.

"Finish your food first Farhad before playing around!" My mother scolded him.

"I was fighting not playing mommy." He said getting back on his chair. My sisters all laughed and then my father asked chuckling, "What about it?"

"Well when a boy is eight yrs old he can sign up for the warrior classes at the castle." I said.

The reason you must be eight years old is because it's at that age that every werewolf transforms for the first time.

"Oh yes! That's true! I completely forgot. Amira we should start putting some money aside for Farhad warrior classes." My dad said to my mom.

"Alright." She answered.

"I was use to all my girls not being able to sign up for warrior classes I- Never mind... Farhad we'll definitely sign you up." Dad said ruffling up his little boy's hair.

"Papa stop!" Farhad yelled pulling our dad hands out of his hair. We all smiled and continued our dinner talking about whatever.

"Samia get up!" I whispered yelled pushing her off the bed. I had to... She's a deep sleeper unlike me the littlest noise can wake me up.

"What do you want?!" She whispered yelled back. "It's only 2am..." Samia mumbled looking at our sand clock.

"Sorry but I think I just heard our parents leaving the house." I said getting off the bed to wear my black combat boots. Yes, I'm going to wear them with my pajamas. Ain't nobody got time to change their clothes in the middle of the night.

"They're adults. I'm pretty sure they can do whatever they want without your permission." Samia said pulling her blanket and pillow off the bed so she can get comfortable on the floor. "Tchuip!!! Disturbing people sleep for nonsense."

"Samia are you that lazy to even get back on the bed?" She's unbelievable!

"Mhhmm... Yes! Now let me sleep." She said throwing a pillow at me but I quickly grabbed it and placed the pillow at its original spot.

"Okay, I guess I'll have to stalk mom and dad on my own then." I waited for her response but instead all I got was a snore.

She's the oldest...

To disguise my scent from my parents, I had to roll up in a mud puddle. I promptly and quietly followed behind them occasionally hiding behind a tree or a bush.

When they reached in front of a mountain cave, my dad gave my mom a confused look. "Sweetie why is the entrance of the cave blocked by a giant rock?" He asked. "I know what I'm doing." She said kissing his cheeks. My dad smiled affectionately at her and said, "You better."

My mom looked around to make sure no one was trailing them before she knocked on the rock. It sounded more like a code-knock to me. And I was right because the rock suddenly slid open with a tall dark muscled man standing on the opposite side of it.

"Names?" He asked looking down at the scroll he was holding.

"Amira & Lamine." My mother answered.

"Welcome to the Secret Community Meeting." He said making way for them to enter and he closed the rock.

He freaking closed the rock! How am I suppose to enter now without getting caught?! I remember the code-knock my mother did but what good is that if my name is not on the list?!

My parents never told me about a Secret Community Meeting! What are they hiding? What is the purpose of it? Samia and her lazy self should have followed me! But at the same time she would've slowed me down or we would've gotten caught by now because of her.

Suddenly I sniffed a group of male wolves coming my way. I hid behind a bush but it was too late because one of them already saw me. They approached me faster than I thought they would. Damn it!

"There's an intruder!" yelled one of the guys from the male group, pointing at me. He transformed into a white dirty wolf with drool coming out of his muzzle. He pounced my way aggressively as I maneuvered his attack swiftly. He snarled at me and asked, "whoorgh sentch yoouu?"

"No one!" I replied.

I was filled with adrenaline right now. I never faced any other wolf in combat accept my Sensei. This is elating.

I should've brought my weapons with me but I didn't think wherever my parents were going was going to be a secret private thing with a specific list.

The other wolves quickly came to stand by his side except one. He was also the only one who didn't shift. "Xander calm down! She's a female!" He yelled.

"Xander's the name huh." I stated to the dirty white impatient wolf.

"I-rgh hate-rgh femaale!" He growled back at me.

"Wait till you meet your mate and you won't be saying that." I said in amusement.

"My name is Darrell. Were you invited to the SCM?" The non shifted one asked me.

"I don't know? Were you?" I asked.

Darrell glared at me and carefully approached but I backed up. I'm not that stupid.

"We mean you no harm." He said.

"Then why are your friends still in their war forms growling at me?" I asked raising my right eyebrow.

"Don't mind them... They're just bored."

"Right like I'll believe that."

"You know if you're not invited, I can get you in." Darrell said suggestively.

"You can?," I asked with hope but my brain immediately realized it was a trick.

"Actually forget it. I'll be leaving now." I said retreating slowly with a smile.

"I'm afraid we can't let you leave. You've seen and heard too much." Darrell said shifting into a vile light brown wolf, ripping his clothes off.

There's no need for me to shift and fight. I'm out numbered and I don't want to cause a scene either that'll alert other wolves.

My only tactic now is to run to the river that isn't too far from here and get away by jumping in it.

I ran as fast as I could and they were all following behind me.

"Do you guys really all have to come chasing after a measly muddy female. You guys are that weak?" I questioned.

"Dooon't test-ch uus woman!" Darrell growled loudly.

"Weaklings!" I yelled back.

"Uuuuurrrrgghh leeet me havve herrr Darrrrell!" Xander growled angrily.

"No can do buddy! The Moon Goddess already reserved me for someone else!" I said running faster.

The river is three minutes away from here now if I'm not mistaken. I glided down a perpendicular hill and muttered to myself, "I need to slow down their pace. What can I do?"

I abruptly stood in front of a tall tree with a thick trunk. "Sorry Mother Nature!" I quickly yelled, kicking the tree down with an incredible strength.

"Shitch!" Some of the wolves said, stoping their pursuit after me while some of the others just jumped over the tree trunk still chasing me.

"Whaarght kinnd of femaale is-h thaarghtt?" Xander asked.

"A bitcrrh!" Darrell snarled.

"Like your mom!" I retorted.

They kept running after me until I stopped near the river bank. I turned in their direction to find them all shifting back into their human forms and I made sure to keep my eyes glued to their faces. They were all naked as the day they were born.

Xander smirked and asked in a high pitched voice, "The little girl got no where to run now does she?" Everybody surrounding him laughed at his lame joke, including Darrell.

A couple of seconds later, he jumped at me surprisingly. Fortunately, I positioned myself ready to block or encounter any attack. I stopped his jump midway and grabbed him by the shoulders to knee his pride.

"Oooooooowww." Xander howled falling to his knees. I gave him a double punch to his left eye and a brutal kick to the head.

I hurriedly jumped in the river before his squad could gang up on me, leaving him knocked out on the ground.

Darrell glared at me as the river took me away. Just as I was about to leave his vision he yelled, "I'll find you rogue! I swear by the moon!" And then he and his men howled at the moon.

"Good luck with that. Hmph!" I said to myself while my body went with the river flow.

Saturday, five in the morning...

"Samia and others open the door!!" I yelled for the 20th time. Do they all have a hearing problem? I was about to leave the front door to enter by our room's window but guess who decided to show up? Miss lazy pants!

"I heard you the first time. You didn't have to yell and knock- What happened to you?!" She asked shockingly all wrapped up in her yellow robe with a messy hair bun.

"If you heard me the first time, then why didn't you or the others open the door immediately?" I asked annoyed.

"Oh... I decided to take a five minute snooze and I don't know why the others didn't." She answered neutrally.

"But never mind that! What happen to you Maira? You look like you just came out of someone's butthole! Literally." She said analyzing me.

Unfortunately, I did. I was soaked and covered in mud.

I shrugged my shoulders and Samia said, "Come inside. Let's get you cleaned up." I thanked her and followed her to the bathroom.

"Get in the tub and give me your clothes." I did as told and then Samia commented, "I'm glad I didn't follow you." I laughed in response and began washing my hair.

"I'll wash your clothes and clean the dirt you left on the floor but you owe me big time!" She said eyeing me.

"Thank you baby! I love you." I said smiling.

"Little sisters." Samia muttered rolling her eyes as she left the bathroom.

"What are you making for lunch?" Dyna asked standing next to me as I stirred the mushrooms in the skillet.

"Pan-Seared chicken thighs, served with golden mushrooms in a creamy tarragon sauce. It's classically delicious!" I said kissing my finger tips dramatically at the end.

"You're starting to sound like dad! Don't let him rub off on you." Azra said setting the table.

"Ahahaha! He already did."

"Speaking of daddy... Where are they? Their morning walks aren't this long usually." Dyna asked taking some grapefruits from the fruit basket.

"Uhhmmm... Don't know. But who cares? More food for us!" I said awkwardly. With my family, it seems like I can't be a serious person.

"Sounds more like you know something but don't worry, we won't ask." Azra said grinning like she just solved a scientific mystery.

"Where's Farhad?" I asked changing the subject real quickly.

"Helping Samia do her makeup in our room." Dyna replied putting together a good old homemade grapefruit juice.

"What for?"

"Something about how she has to look good at all times because she never knows when her mate will pop up." Dyna said amused.

"Oh... Anyways lunch will be ready in 10 mins!" I said excitedly. "I'm so hungry." I muttered rubbing my belly and my sisters laughed imitating my action.

Few minutes later...

"Wow! You look beautiful Samia. Where you heading to?" I said shutting off the cooking fire as she entered the kitchen while Dyna and Azra were seated on the table talking about I-don't-know-what.

Samia was wearing a nude skin tight dress that showed her curves and a dangerous little cleavage. Her hair was left loose&natural with its curls, she had on a simple makeup look and added a pink shade of lip stick. It really put the look all together!

"Hmmmhmmm! Food smells good baby sis." She said holding Farhad tightly in her arms. Samia likes to baby him too much. He's six!

"Yummy! I'm ready to eat. You can put me down now Samia!" Farhad said jumping out of her arms.

"Come back to me baby!" Samia whined theatrically.

"I'm a big boy! Worry not." He said taking a seat at the table.

"Whatever! Don't come running to me later for candy. And thank you for your compliment Aaeesha but unfortunately I'm not going anywhere."

"That's okay! Take a seat and let's eat. It'll make you feel better." I said placing the food on the table ready to eat.

"We're eating lunch too without them? I wonder where they could be..." Samia said sitting down.

"Yeah Aaeesha! Where are they?" Azra butted in.

"I thought you said-" Talk about right timing! Luckily they came through the door before Azra made me meet my death with Samia.

"Mommmmyy!!" Farhad yelled happily running into our mother's arm.

"My honey drop!" She said picking him up to peck him on the cheeks.

"Are you guys okay?" My father asked worried.

"Where have you guys been?!" Dyna asked annoyed. "I didn't know morning walks lasted after noon!"

"Young pup!" Our dad warned. "Watch your tone." She apologized and hugged him which brought a smile on his face. Dyna is such a girly-girl and has father twisted around her pinkie. Samia got up to go hug our dad as well but she stopped in her tracks because...

ohmygosh! I think my big sister mate just emerged from the door!!! Finally! It's about time! She's 22 for moon sake!

Sorry that chapter one was sort of boring but it's chapter one and I wanted you guys to get familiar with Maira and her family!! And if you haven't read the prologue before reading chapter one then you made a mistake. Because if you don't read the prologue you'll be mixed up in the first few chapters and we don't want that.

Samia is so pretty right? Do you guys find her pretty? I put a picture of her in the media section above or on the side. Wherever the media is on your screen lol 😂😜 Just a little note... I'll never put a picture up for Maira (our protagonist) because I want you guys to imagine her with the description I gave of her in the prologue.

Which sister do you guys relate to the most? Which one is more of your personality? Do you guys have a lot of siblings like Maira?
