Chapter Five: A, C & B
A, C & B ⏸
"Good afternoon," one of the guards standing beside Alpha Ezekiel's entry greeted Amira & Arcadius as he opened the door for them.
"What can I do for you?," their Alpha asked, after they both took a seat opposite of his.
"We came to talk to you about my-" Amira stopped herself, not feeling confident enough.
"Go on," Arcadius nudged her shoulder, assuring her.
"We're here for my daughter and we want you to reconsider, Sir," she said, holding onto her clothing.
"Oh you're that silly girl's mother," he said, chuckling. "No offense my lady, but she's a lost cause."
"Yes, yes I am. And I want to reevaluate why she's being executed," Amira said with more assurance.
"Very well then," her Alpha said, taking out a file regarding Maira.
"So?" Amira asked, impatiently.
"Maira is being executed for defying rule 15 & rule 3," Ezekiel said, pushing the document towards her.
"Which is?" Amira was lost because she had never went to school.
"Let me elaborate, if you don't mind Alpha," Arcadius offered.
"Rule 15; Never attack or kill a fellow pack member in an unauthorized training, combat or out of emotions. The punishment for this shall call upon a five year emprisonnement."
Amira already found a problem with rule 15 and was ready to know what rule 3 had for her, "Rule 3?"
"Rule 3; Female disciplined in fighting is strictly prohibited, if unauthorized. The punishment shall call upon a lifetime emprisonnement."
"Alpha, Maira was defending herself from Xander. He was going to harm her," Amira argued.
"Yes and?"
"She doesn't deserve the punishment for rule 15 because she didn't break it. She was defending herself unlike Xander,"
"Your point is?" Ezekiel questioned, not caring.
"Xander has to suffer the consequences of disobeying rule 15 and Maira shouldn't have a dirty mark about it in her file,"
"Okay, but she still has rule 3 blocking her freedom," Earth's pack Alpha stated.
"Who said she was an illegal disciplined warrior?" Amira asked, pretending not to know.
"She admitted it herself and Xander backed her confession. You were present at the public gathering, you saw the marks Maira left on him," he said, standing up from his chair, to walk around his office as he talked.
"But-"
"If Maira truly fought Xander as an undisciplined fighter, she should be the one to have marks on her body, not the other way around," Ezekiel interrupted.
"Do you even have proof she was the one who fought with him?"
"Once again, Maira admitted it! Xander, Darrell and their entire gang present at the scene, backed her confession," Ezekiel answered, bending down to grab both sides of the chair she was seated in, to emphasize his view of things.
"She was defending herself! You can't kill her for that!" Amira spatted in his face.
"I don't care, she still broke rule 3," he said backing away from her.
"The punishment for that is a lifetime emprisonnement, so at least give her that! Don't kill her,"
Ezekiel watched both Arcadius and Amira, and for a split second, he felt bad.
A split second.
"Please Alpha!" Maira's mother pleaded.
"You must obey the rules," Arcadius pressed.
"I am obeying the rules," he affirmed.
"Really? How?" Amira asked, annoyed.
"Are you questioning your Alpha?"
"No, I want to make sure my daughter isn't dying for nothing"
"She broke rule 42," Ezekiel said, naming the last accusation on Maira.
"What else could she have possibly done?!" Maira's mother was exasperated at this point.
"Rule 42; The culprit is aware of private information they shouldn't know about, which could threaten his or her pack. The punishment shall call upon a death penalty," Arcadius said.
"No that's not true. Maira doesn't know about any of your affairs, I mean, what could she know?" Amira wondered.
"It's private information," Ezekiel said.
"How did she acquire this information?" she asked.
"By snooping her nose in a puddle that doesn't concern her," he said, seating in his chair.
"I'll need a more valid reason than that, Alpha please,"
"And I'll need you out of here," Ezekiel said, banging his office desk. "Right now!" he yelled, pointing at his door.
Amira gave her Alpha a frightened look and turned towards Arcadius for support, but Alpha Ezekiel asked him to stay behind.
Of course, he asked him in the most polite way he could, with his anger still hot.
But a female werewolf can resist, even fight her Alpha, when it comes to her child.
"She's my daughter and you're going to kill her for nothing! Imagine your unborn child in her place! Would you let-"
"Ennnnooouuuurrrggghhh!!!" Ezekiel growled, with his claws coming out, his iris glowing a bright yellow, his muscles clenching.
"You've been disrespectful with me since you stepped foot into my office! I had enough! Out! She'll die wether you like it or not!" Ezekiel assured, Amira.
She looked at him with disgust, as tears fell intensely down her tender cheeks.
"I'll make sure of it," he growled.
"Rot in hell, you bastard," she said, leaving his office not looking back.
Amira didn't even know her Alpha had transformed into a complete brown ferocious wolf to rip her throat out, because Arcadius had held him back.
Alone.

The following day, Lamine & Amira were able to assemble a couple of their friends and family members to join them in their riot.
A riot that was going to be held at night, in front of the castle walls and planned for in the woods.
"Ma, pass me the torches so I'll hand them out," Amira told her mother.
"There you go," her mother said, handing them over.
Amira also has a little sister, Zabira, who has two boys of her own. They were all helping her fight for Maira, including her dad, Zabira's mate, Lamine's family and their close friends.
"Amira, I need to talk to you & Lamine," Arcadius said, approaching the woman he'll do anything for, "Now," he said, making a face.
"Yeah sure, what's up?" she said, handing him a torch.
"We-"
"Before you say anything, why do you have a long sleeve on? Take it off and where a shirt! Don't tell me you traveled all the way to you-know-where to get you-know-what covered for nothing," Amira said, patting his arm.
Arcadius chuckled, "Sorry, it's a habit."
"It's really hot tonight and we're going to be using torches too. And don't forget," Amira said pursing her lips, "we're in earth's territory, the desert."
"That's why everyone in the Earth pack or Fire pack has a dark or chocolate skin complexion," he replied, beginning to take off his long sleeve-
"What's going on here?" Lamine asked, pulling Amira to his waist.
"I was just about to come looking for you darling," Amira said, giving him a kiss. "Arcadius has to talk to us apparently,"
"Okay, what is it?" Lamine asked him.
"Cancel the riot," Arcadius stated.
"What?! Why?!" Amira asked, bothered with what he just said.
"Yeah, why?" Lamine inquired.
"Because it's against the rules, its violent. A riot isn't peaceful, you'll be disturbing the castle ground and disrespecting your Alpha,"
"Ezekiel is a heartless person, who is letting our daughter die in vain! I don't care! We're doing this!" Amira argued.
"You both will lose your jobs, Lamine back me up here," Arcadius, said hoping she'll change her mind.
"Amira if that's the case, maybe we should rethink-"
"Rethink what?" Zabira asked, interrupting Lamine.
"Rethink our plan," and as he said that, more and more of their friends and family started to surround them.
"Why?" One of their friends asked.
"Because it's against the rules," Arcadius affirmed.
"F*ck the rules!" Amira growled. "We're wolves!" she declared. "Since when do we go by rules and civilisation and gentleness and kindness?!"
"Uhm... since 60 years ago, sweetheart," Lamine said, reminding his beloved.
"Okay but that's not us, we're animals, we're werewolves, we're wild, we're savages! We're not humans!" Amira evoked, leaving her mate's embrace, "We need to demolish these rules and become an actual werewolf pack," Amira finished.
"She's right, we can't keep living like this," Lamine's sister, Erica, said approaching Amira, "I stand with her on this one."
"Me too," Zabira said, as her partner, Aalim, took her hand and nodded along with his sons.
"Anything you say, I go along with," Lamine said, taking his mate's hand while she squeezed it affectionately, looking at him with love.
"She's our sister," Samia said, coming closer to her parents with her sibling. "And we will do anything for her," Azra added.
Lamine's mother was at home watching Dyna and Farhad.
"We agree as well with you!" Amira's parents said.
"You've always been by my side, Amira you're my best friend," Yazma said, coming forward with her mate.
"I love you guys!" Amira expressed, as tears filled her eyes.
"So Arcadius, you won't stop us from doing this riot," Lamine's father said, squeezing Arcadius shoulder in a friendly way.
"Hmph," Arcadius smirked, "who said I was going to?"
And right there, Amira hugged him to thank him.
"Nothing can stop a mother's rage, not even an Alpha," he whispered into her ear.
"Okay, let's do this!" Lamine encouraged, taking his mate back.
"But I have a better idea," Arcadius suggested, receiving annoyed looks from everyone except Amira.
"Let's hear him out," Amira said, giving him a smile.
"Thank you," he said smiling back, "we shouldn't do this tonight, but do it another time at the market place in a week or so."
"Wouldn't it be too late to save Maira," Samia asked, the question everyone was thinking.
From there, Arcadius explained his plan in high details. It was later comprehended and accepted by every single werewolf present that night.
Plan B was on hold- for now

EXECUTION DAY
The castle guards open the door to let Maira's parents inside the visiting room, where they found their daughter sitting down, with her arms resting on a wooden table. She had this expression on her face that made her look like someone who wasn't going to be executed in a couple hours.
"Maira!!" her mother shrieked, running to give her a hug.
"Oh! Mother," Maira said, coming out of her trance while calmly responding to her mother's embrace.
"I'm so glad you're okay, my poor baby," Amira said, pulling Maira in closer.
"Okay mother, that's enough," Maira chuckled, pushing her back gently.
"Hey, Maira. You okay?" her father asked, giving her a kiss on the forehead.
"Yes I am, you both, take a seat please," she said, squeezing her father's hand.
Maira had already spoken to her siblings, and now, it was her parents turn. Oddly, they both had grey back packs on.
"Baby, you're not dying tonight," Amira announced, grabbing Maira's hand across the table.
"What?!" Maira exclaimed, confused.
"I'll be running away with you, we'll go rogue together," Lamine said.
"How?" she asked, pulling her hand away from her mother's own.
"When we get out of this room, the guards will come in to fetch you. Once they do, I'll discretely follow behind you guys- and just before they can put you back in your cell, I'll assault one of the guards escorting you. It's a diversion of course to the other guard, so you can knock both of them out, to give us time to leave the territory as quickly as possible," Lamine explained.
"Oh and darling you forgot to mention that you will mask your scent before you start following them. And when Maira knock the guards out, she'll have to mask her scent too so you guys won't be traced," Amira reminded.
"Yeah & everything we'll need for our survival before we find a new place to settle down, is in this back pack of mine," Lamine said, shaking his bag.
"Mother, father, I'm glad for the effort you guys put in to your plan but I'm not going along with it," Maira announced.
"Maira! You have to!" her mother yelled.
"I'm sorry it has to be this way, but I won't escape my faith," Maira said.
"And your faith isn't dying at the age of 17," Lamine argued.
"You'll be 18 in a week, baby," Amira reminded her child, "You can't just die before that!" she said, tears swelling up her hazel eyes.
"Would it make you feel better if I die after my birthday?" Maira asked sarcastically, getting up.
"Sit down," her father demanded, angered with tears in his eyes, "Do you know how much effort your mother and I put into saving you?"
"Uuurrggh," Maira rolled her eyes, taking back her seat.
"This isn't like you! What's wrong?" her mother sobbed.
"Mother, I've made a mistake! I want to atone for it by whatever punishment my Alpha see fit," Maira explained.
"Okay, before you say anything, that'll make me slap you, take a look at these," Amira said, taking a couple cards out of her bag.
"What are these?"
"Read," her father instructed, wiping his tears away.
"Okay... they seem to be some last words from my class mates and family members," Maira said tossing the cards back to her mother.
"Maira!" her father yelled, sending a slap across her face.
Maira held her right cheek, which was burning and bursted out laughing.
"Thank you for doing that, Lamine," Amira said, rising up from her seat with tears trickling down her face, "I think she needs to see a doctor, she's being in that dungeon for way too long."
"Amira, how are we going to save our daughter, if you're giving up on her?"
"I'm not, Maira will figure something out," she said, walking out of the visiting room, "she's a smart girl."
"Maira, why are you being like this?" Lamine asked, while his daughter laughed hysterically.
He waited for a response from his child, but nothing.
"I'll hope you won't regret going down this road," he said, placing one last kiss on his daughter's forehead.
