Tip #3
Tip #3
Punctuation and grammar must be on point.
No one wants to read an entire story with run-on sentences and poor grammar. It starts to get irritating and then your readers will start to lose interest. All books reach a sort of slow point of the story where you're not as hyped as the beginning or the end. At that point a huge factor that keeps a reader is grammar and punctuation. If you write like this,
Joe wat iz gonting oo append.
You probably have no absolute idea what I just wrote. Could you even guess?
Have 1,2 or even twenty people edit. I would even say use auto-correct. Yes, I said that. Auto-correct is a huge help....except for names.
Bonus tip:
Learn a word a day. I have an app that teaches me a new word everyday alongside it's definition. It's called 'Word of the Day.' Today is:
Dead tree edition
(noun)
(idiomatic, pejorative, humorous) Paper version of a publication that can be found online.
Wow. The one day I put what my word is on Wattpad and it is 'dead tree edition.' Is that even a word? Again, Jackie Chan Facebook meme.
Anyway, have good grammar and punctuation. It makes all the difference.
