Scars
"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE, NOW!" A loud voice boomed through the house, after that a loud slap was heard followed by a muffled groan.
It was one of those days where Hiccup's dad was drunk. And when he was, you better don't make any mistakes. Hiccup, unfortunately, did and got himself a heavy beating for it.
He was currently laying on the ground, curled up and trying to protect his body from the heavy kicks his dad was giving him. He groaned as the foot of the man flew in between his legs, which hurt really, really bad. Hiccup's cover fell and the man kept kicking the crap out of him.
"GET UP AND LEAVE THE HOUSE YOU USELESS BASTARD!" He yelled at him and dragged him up by his hair. Hiccup winced as he was dragged out of the house and left in another cold, berkien night. He shivered and limped down the road, fiddling his wallet out if his pockets. He opened it and sighed in relief once he saw about 100€ in it. It was everything he had though, his father died in a plane crash and his mother died shortly after he was born, leaving him as an orphan. A man named Benny Wolf adopted him when he turned fourteen and since that day, Hiccups life worsened. He has several scars all over his body, probably a few broken ribs and his head was bleeding a little bit since his dad hit it with an empty bottle.
Hiccup sighed as he continued limping down the road to the gas station, which was about 600 meters from his house away. As he arrived there, the guy behind the counter looked at him and gave a small nod, greeting the auburn haired boy. Hiccup limped over to the rack with alcohol and got himself a bottle of vodka, some orange juice and two bottles of water. He sighed again and limped over to the snacks where he got some chocolate bars and one of those sandwiches. The man at the counter watched him as Hiccup placed the things he wanted to buy down in front of him.
The man sighed, "do you have an ID, boy? I don't sell alcohol to under aged kids." He said and Hiccup got out his ID and handed it to the man. The man nodded and gave it back to him, "shouldn't you be home?" He asked as he started to scann the things Hiccup wanted to buy. The young boy in front of him just shook his head no, "well okay then, that would be 60€ please," the man said and Hiccup gave him the money and took his drinks and snacks, then left the shop.
He had no idea where to go so he just limped to the park, hoping that there won't be any homeless people who wanted to steal his stuff. That already happened to him once and since that day, he didn't have a mobile phone anymore. It was Hiccups lucky day since the park was empty. Hiccup dropped his stuff on one of the benches and slumped down on it shortly after. He opened the bottle of vodka he bought and took a huge sip. The liquid burned down his throat and Hiccup coughed. He wasn't used to drinking but he felt like he needed something strong to clear his head, so he took a few more sips, then he closed the bottle and put it back into the bag he bought in the gas station shop. Since it was winter, the temperatures were not warm at all and it was freezing outside, Hiccup began to shake. He had no place to go and no one would take him in anyway. So he laid down on the bench and looked up to the clear night sky, watching bis breath coming out of his mouth in tiny clouds.
Luckily it was a Friday so he didn't have to go to school the next day.
Astrid was walking her dog Stormfly since she was too busy to walk her today, she walked her now, at 11pm. Astrid was freezing a little bit as she walked through the park and then, she saw him. A young man, probably her age, laying on one of the benches, shaking. Astrid slowly approached him and stopped about seven meters away from the young man. Since her father was a police officer, she's been raised to help the people who where in need of it, and this young man definitely needed help. Astrid took a deep breath before saying, "hey, are you okay?"
Hiccup's head snapped up and he turned his head to look at the person who just asked if he was okay, the voice seemed pretty familiar to him. "I am absolutely fine," he replied and laid his head back down.
Astrid took a few steps toward him, "what are you doing out here this late?" She asked him and Hiccup scoffed.
"I could ask you the same question," he retorted, sitting up. Astrid just gestured to her dog, "I have an excuse, do you?" She replied and took a few more steps towards the auburn haired boy. Hiccup now realized why this voice sounded familiar to him, this girl in front if him, was Astrid Hofferson. Hiccup and Astrid weren't really friends, but because of their names, they always get partnered up for projects in school.
'Oh shit,' Hiccup cursed in his mind since Astrid would smell and see the vodka he drank a few minutes ago.
Hiccup suddenly realized that Astrid was still waiting for an answer, "yeah, I was kicked out of my home, that's my excuse!" He retorted and Astrids heart skipped a best because she realized that the boy in front of her was one of her classmates, Hiccup Haddock.
Astrid gasped, "Hiccup?" She said and walked towards him, followed by Stormfly, which was on alert to protect Astrid, if this weird boy is trying to do anything to her.
Hiccup sighed, "the one and only," he said as Astrid took a seat next to him.
"Did you drink something...?" She asked and Hiccup looked at the ground but nodded. "Are you okay?" She asked him and Hiccup nodded again, but shook is head shortly after, shoulders slumped and head down, looking at his hands.
Well, Hiccup was one of those boys who always kept their problems to theirselves, since he didn't want to bother anyone with them. He never told anyone about his abusive dad. He never told anyone about his dead parents and he never told anyone that he often got thrown out of his home.
He wore this mask which he had to take off in front of Astrid now.
Astrid sighed and placed a hand on the boys shoulder, "c-can you tell me w-what happened?" She asked him and Hiccup shook his head, "you're freezing," he said and Astrid managed a small smile.
"So are you," she replied, noticing that the boy next to her only wore a black jeans, a grey pullover and a black sweat jacket. "Please tell me what happened, Hiccup. I can help you." She said.
Hiccup sighed, "telling you everything would take forever," he admitted, "you'll be frozen to death until I finish the story of my life," he said and Astrid laughed a little bit.
"Okay, do you have somewhere to go tonight?" She asked and Hiccup shook his head in response. Astrid sighed and stood up, "okay, come on," the blonde girl said and reached one of her hands out to the boy. Hiccup looked at the hand, then back at Astrid.
"A-are y-you sure about this? You don't know what you're doing, Astrid," Hiccup said and Astrid shrugged.
"Maybe not, but I want to help you Hiccup, and leaving you out here to freeze to death isn't helping at all." She replied and Hiccup gave a light nod, before taking her hand. Astrid dragged him to his feet and smiled at him, Hiccup smiled back.
For the first time of his life, he actually felt like someone cared about him.
"So, while we're walking to my place, you can start telling me your story," Astrid suggested and Hiccup nodded.
"Uhm okay," he started, "well I haven't told it anyone yet so..." he trailed off. Astrid noticed him struggling and took his hand again.
"It's okay," she reassured him, "tell me when we're at my place," she said, Hiccup looked at the ground and nodded. He kind of liked the fact that she was holding his hand right now, it felt nice.
They walked in silence for a few minutes until Hiccup broke it, "why, why are you helping me? We barely know each other." He said and tried to avoid eye contact with the blonde girl next to him.
"My dad is a police officer," she started, "I was raised to help the people who need it," she said and Hiccup gave a slight nod.
"What's her name?" He asked Astrid and gestured to Stormfly, which was still under alert.
"Her name is Stormfly, I got here when I turned 15," Astrid answered and Hiccup smiled, "I like her," he said, "but she doesn't really seem to like me."
Astrid chuckled, "she just needs to get to know you, it'll be fine," she reassured him and Hiccup nodded again. The rest of the walk to Astrids home was quiet, but not awkwardly quiet, it was a comfortable silence between the two of them. They were still holding hands and none of them really seemed to be bothered by it.
They arrived at Astrids house a few minutes later, Hiccup looked at it in awe.
It was a huge house with a beautiful front yard, while Hiccups 'home' was an old, small house without a front yard.
Suddenly a thought hit him as Astrid was fiddling for her keys, "uhm," he started, "are your parents okay with this?" He asked her and Astrid nodded.
"Yeah, they are on some kind of Wellness Weekend," she answered and finally found her keys. She opened the door and let Hiccup in, then she followed and closed the door.
Hiccup found himself in the living room, a huge room with a TV, sofa, a small table with an XBox and a guitar. Astrid took a seat on the couch and gestured Hiccup to sit down next to him, the auburn haired boy did so. "So, tell me everything I need to know," Astrid said and Hiccup hesitated but nodded.
"Okay, uhm," he said, "well..." he sighed. He had no idea how to tell her everything. It was just too much at the moment. But he forced himself to tell her the truth, and only the truth. "So, I was born about two months early, since my mom got pretty weak and sick during her pregnancy," he started, "well, that's why I am, as many people prefer to say, a talking fishbone," he continued, "well a few days after I was born, my mother died," he said and Astrid frowned. She didn't know anything of what he told her and he just started his story, she gestured the boy to continue and Hiccup did so. "So I was raised by my dad until I was five, but my dad was a very busy business man and he had almost no time for me," he said and swallowed, "well, when I was five, he left for one of those important trips, leaving me in a summer camp, telling me he'd come back," he said and Astrid already knew what would follow next, "b-but he didn't," Hiccup finally said and looked down, Astrid took one of his hands, reassuring him that she was there for him.
"So I lived in an orphanage until I was fourteen," he continued, "well, when I turned fourteen, a man adopted me and took me in," Hiccup said and swallowed again, "let's just say that he really wasn't a nice guy."
Astrid squeezed his hand a little bit, "tell me what happened, Hiccup," she said and Hiccup slowly nodded.
"When he took me in, I was happy, since living in an orphanage isn't the best thing ever," he admitted, "but turns out, the guy that adopted me is an abusive man who loves getting drunk on Weekends," he said and it was Astrids turn to swallow. "Uhm, he used to kick the crap out of me if I made a mistake during his drunk state," he said and Astrid felt the urge to ask a question.
"D-do you have any scars?" She asked, interrupting him, but Hiccup just nodded and looked back at the ground, "can, can you show them to me?" She asked and the boy looked at her with a worried expression.
He then laughed nervously, "I'm not sure if you want to see that," he admitted and Astrid frowned, then shook her head.
"I want to see them, please," she said and Hiccup hesitated. He didn't want Astrid to see everything, but otherwise, she could be able to help him, Astrid already showed that she was willing to help him. So he nodded and stood up, turning his back to her, Astrid then realized that the scars had to be on his upper body, so he might have to take off his shirt. She swallowed as he slowly pulled it up, then gasped once she saw the scars on his back. She then got up too and slowly put a hand on his back, Hiccup jerked a little bit but didn't move away. "What has he done?" She asked and Hiccup slowly turned to her.
He shrugged, "he just doesn't like me," he said and noticed Astrids eyes on his chest. Since Astrid was a little bit smaller than him, she had to look up a little bit to look straight into his eyes, which she certainly didn't want to. Hiccup then put a hand on her chin, forcing her to look at him, then he just started leaning in, and was surprised when Astrid did the same.
Their lips met and they started to kiss, it wasn't a normal kiss, the kiss was deep and passionate and they both found each other deepening it further. Astrids hands landed on Hiccups, still, bare chest, while Hiccups landed on her waist, as he pulled her closer. Hiccup then slightly opened his mouth and slid his tongue over Astrids lips, asking for an entrance. Astrid opened her mouth too and they deepened their kiss.
Hiccup found himself slowly pushing Astrid down on the sofa, pinning her down on it, with a hand on each side of her head. They continued kissing for about five minutes, until they needed to break their kiss to regain their breath. They started into each others eyes for a few minutes until Hiccup opened his mouth to say something, "this is wrong," he said and wanted to get up but Astrids hands flew on his back and she pulled him down again, "let's just continue our conversation later, ok?" She asked while one of her hands stroke his cheek and Hiccup sighed.
"Are you sure?" He asked and Astrid rolled her eyes, "yeah I am," she said and pulled him back down, and their lips met again. Their make out session got more heated by every minute that passed until the two of them found themselves in Astrids bed, about to do it.
(I felt so awkward writing this, but the 'fangirls' love Hiccstrid make out sessions. Well, I guess you guys know how the whole 'it' thing works, so I'll just leave that part out. If you really, really, really want a chapter with the said 'it' tell me. But as I said I feel really awkward when I write those make out parts.)
"Well," Hiccup said as he and Astrid laid in her bed, "that escalated quickly," he finished and Astrid chuckled.
"It was good tho," she said while resting her head on his chest. Hiccup nodded in response, "we don't tell my parents about what happened last night, agree?" She asked and Hiccup nodded again, "but we have to tell them about the whole 'Abusive Dad Story', Hiccup. My father is a police man, and we have evidence for the physical abuse." She said and Hiccup look down at her and locked an arm around her shoulder.
"Okay," he said quietly, "thank you."
Astrid looked at him, "you're welcome," she then closed her eyes and hummed, "what about us?" She asked him and Hiccup tensed a little bit.
"I-I honestly don't know," he said, "but what I do know is, that last night was awesome." He said and ruined all the romantic atmosphere.
Astrid chuckled, "yeah, yeah," she said, "but that wasn't just it, right?" The blonde girl asked and Hiccup shook his head.
"To be honest, I always had a crush on you," he admitted, "ever since kindergarten and yeah," he quickly changed position, so Astrid would lie underneath him again, "kissing your crush," he started and kissed her forehead, "felt actually," he said, kissing her nose, "pretty good," he finished and kissed her on the lips. Astrid smiled into the kiss and hummed, "I know," she said and broke the kiss after a few more seconds.
"I think I fell for you when we had that science project together," she admitted and Hiccup laughed.
"So, are we official?" He asked her and placed a few kisses on her neck, once he found a sweet spot, Astrid started to moan.
She then pushed him away, to answer his question, "yeah we are," she said and they had another heated make out session.

Another One Shot with about 3000 words.
1. Why did I use € as currency?
Well, I think in America you're only allowed to buy alcohol when you're 21. But in this one shot, Hiccup is 19 and Astrid 18. In America Hiccup wouldn't be allowed to buy alcohol, in Germany he would be. (idk I don't google laws for my stories.)
2. I really am not good at writing stories, especially love stories. When it's about kissing and stuff I kinda feel awkward. I don't know why ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
I really hope you still liked this one!
