Put Your Love On Me

School. School is probably just another word for hell. An eighteen year old Hiccup Haddock was walking through the hallways, heading to his first class. Hiccup was an average student, he hadn't many friends but he was totally fine with that. It's not really important for him to have many friends, he rather only has a few friends.

Hiccup arrived at his classroom and once he entered it, he felt like throwing up. There she was, with her boyfriend, flirting and kissing. Astrid Hofferson, one of Hiccups friends and probably his best friend, with her boyfriend Lars Holgerson.

It's not like Hiccup wouldn't want his friend to be happy, but if she was happy, then not with him. Her boyfriend is a heartless guy, who only dates girls to 'have some fun with them', or in Hiccups words, to smash with them. Lars and Hiccup were both in the School's soccer team, and that's why Hiccup knew what kind of guy he was. Lars always talks about his late night experiences with the other guys in the changing room, and it was gross.

Hiccup knew that Astrid wasn't stupid and Lars wouldn't have an easy game with her, but he was still concerned. The auburn haired boy had a crush on the blonde ever since he knew her, and seeing her with someone else, who certainly only wants to get her to warm his bed, hurts in many different ways. He didn't know what to do, if he talked to Astrid about her boyfriend, she might think that he's jealous, which he kind of was.

Another problem was, that Hiccup and Lars didn't really get along that well. Since Hiccup got elected to be the team captain of their soccer team, Lars kept on insulting him and stuff. Not that Hiccup cared much, but when he was talking to Astrid it is kind of annoying when someone else is glaring daggers into your back.

Hiccup sighed and sat down, next to him was sitting Fishlegs, a husky and smart boy who loved flowers. The husky boy was wearing a brown sweat jacket and jeans, while Hiccup was wearing a dark green sweat shirt and grey jeans.

"She still hasn't broke up with him," said Fishlegs to the auburn haired boy and Hiccup shook his head.

"Nope," Hiccup groaned in frustration.

"Believe me, she will see what kind of guy Lars really is," Heather said sitting down next to Fishlegs, pecking him on the lips. Fishlegs and Heather were a couple since about two years, and they seemed to be happy. Fishlegs nodded in agreement.

Hiccup sighed and covered his face with his hands, "what if not," he mumbled.

Heather and Fishlegs exchanged a glance, they both knew that Hiccup had feelings for Astrid, he had told them a few months ago. Just as Heather wanted to say something, Astrid sat down next to Hiccup, with a smile on her face, making Hiccup sag in his chair. "Hey, guys," she greeted and Fishlegs and Heather greeted back. Hiccup didn't say anything and stared at his table, "are you okay, Hiccup?"

The auburn haired boys head snapped up, "yeah, yeah, I'm fine," he replied and started to play with the pen on his table.

Astrid raised a brow and before she could ask anything else, their teacher entered the classroom and the first lesson started.
The first lesson went by fast, Astrid and her boyfriend talked almost all the time, making Hiccup want to yell at them, but he didn't. He just tried to concentrate on what his teacher said, not paying attention to what the couple next to him was saying. As the lesson ended, Lars went to his friends, talking about the upcoming soccer match against the Berserkers. Hiccup rose form his seat and left the classroom with Fishlegs following him behind.

Astrid walked over to Heather and sat down next to her, "what's wrong with Hiccup?" She asked the girl next to her directly and Heather just raised a brow. How didn't Astrid notice it herself? It's so obvious!

The raven haired girl shrugged, "I don't know, why don't you ask him yourself?" She answered.

"Why don't you tell me?" The blonde girl said, pushing her friend to answer.

Heather rolled her eyes, "because he's your friend too," she stated then gestured to Hiccup's seat, "look, Hiccup and you were best friends, you told each other everything," she said and Astrid nodded, "so what did change?"

Astrid opened her mouth to answer, but no words came out. Yeah, what did change?

The blonde girl knew that Hiccup wasn't the jealous kind of guy, so she doubted he behaved weird because of her boyfriend. But, last time she and him talked alone, was about 7 months ago, since she and Lars became a couple. Maybe something happened to him or his family?
Astrid knew Hiccup's dad was never home and that he was all by himself since his mother died in a car crash when he was fifteen.

The blonde remembered the day when his mother was in that accident, because Hiccup was involved too, he nearly died that day and was very lucky that he survived. Astrid visited him so often when he was in hospital, she always talked to him about what happened in school, how she was and so on. It made her friend feel better and she helped him to fight through depression and other stuff that he had to endure after the accident.

Astrid sighed, "it's because of me...." She realized and Heather placed a hand on hers and shook her head.

"I wouldn't say that," she said, "maybe you should just talk to him, you know, alone, without Lars. You know Hiccup and Lars don't get along that well," Heather told her and Astrid nodded. Heather was right, she should talk to him.

Hiccup and Fishlegs came back in the classroom a few minutes later, Astrid noticed the worried expression on Fishlegs' face and she herself started worrying about her friend. It's not like Hiccup didn't mean anything to her, no she actually loved him, she just wasn't sure if it was friendly love or real love. They've been friends since they can remember, maybe Hiccup saw their relationship more like a brother-sister relationship. She didn't want to ruin their friendship.

Lars was kind of a distraction. She started dating him because he distracted her from her feelings for that auburn haired dork. And she kind of had feelings for Lars too, but they were not as strong as the feelings she had for Hiccup.

Astrid sat back down on her seat as Hiccup sat down next to her. He didn't even look at her and the blonde sighed, enough, they need to talk.

The lesson started as their teacher entered the classroom, another boring maths lesson had begun and Astrid felt like vomiting. Lars poked her arm, "you okay, babe? You seem kinda distracted," he noticed and Astrid snapped out of her thoughts.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied without using his nickname, Lars eyebrows instantly dipped and he looked at her with a puzzled expression. Something was off.

"Are you sure?" He asked and Astrid nodded.

"Absolutely, but I have to go to uh," she started, trying to find an excuse to talk to Hiccup alone, "I have to find coach Larson during the break," she lied and Lars nodded.

"Okay," he said, "we'll meet up in the cafeteria afterwards?" He asked and Astird nodded.

"Astrid, Lars, how about you two stop flirting and start learning," their teacher interrupted them. Astrid blushed while Lars just smirked.

Hiccup shot Lars a death glare, which remained unnoticed, then he continued copying the stuff that was written down on the blackboard. Astrid took a glance to the auburn haired boy, seeing him writing quietly. Astrid ripped a piece of paper apart and wrote a tiny note, handing it to him inconspicuously. Hiccup lifted his head to look at her, then he snatched the paper from his table before their teacher could notice.

Hiccup read the note, hiding it under the table, "let's meet at the bleachers in our next break," was all it said and Hiccup turned his head to Astrid, looking at her with an arched eyebrow. Then he smiled and turned back to working...

// Time skip after class//

Hiccup left the classroom, telling his friends that he would join them later. Fishlegs, Heather, Snotlout, Ruffnut and Tuffnut nodded and went off to the cafeteria. The auburn haired boy then made his way to the bleachers, where he and Astrid would meet up now. Once he arrived there, Astrid was already waiting for him.

Hiccup stepped in front of her and the blonde girl immediately rose from her seat, and flung her arms around his neck, embracing him in a tight hug. Hiccup was shocked at first, but hugged her back a few seconds later. "Sorry," Astrid mumbled in his chest.

Hiccup raised an eyebrow, "for what?" He asked her as he placed his chin on top of her head.

Astrid breathed out, "for everything," she said, "I know that I wasn't a good friend to you the past seven months," she admitted and Hiccup smiled.

"It's okay," he assured her, and Astrid pulled away.

"No it's not!" She exclaimed, "you're my best friend, I wasn't a good friend to you lately," Astrid said and Hiccup placed his left hand on her chin, making her look at him.

"It's okay, Astrid," he said again but Astrid just shook her head and tried to look down again, which she couldn't since Hiccup still held her chin in his hand. "I know why you didn't talk that much to me lately, it's because of Lars, right?" He guessed and the blonde girl slowly nodded, wow, it was obvious that Lars kinda affected their friendship.

"He doesn't like when I talk to you, mostly because he doesn't like you," she stated and Hiccup chuckled.

"I am aware of that M'lady," he replied and Astrid felt her heart skip a beat at the nickname he gave her. Hiccup used to use it before she and Lars became a couple and she really liked it when he called her M'lady, it just made her feel good. "Maybe you should try to put your love on someone else?" He suggested and Astrid rose a brow at him, although she wasn't able to stop her lips from lifting into a smile.

"And who would that be?"

Hiccup blushed a little bit, but he knew that this was his chance, and maybe his only one. "Mh," he hummed, "maybe you should try to... put your love on me?" He asked slowly and Astrid laughed.

"Maybe I should," she whispered and then, she smashed her lips on his. Hiccup was surprised, but a few seconds later, he kissed her back, deeply and passionately. Hiccup felt this sad feeling inside of him disappear by the feeling of her lips on his, and it felt so good. After a few more seconds of kissing, they pulled apart, "I think that counts as cheating," Hiccup mumbled and Astrid chuckled.

"I was about to break up with Lars anyway," she assured him and Hiccup smiled weakly.

"Just don't tell him that I am the reason you break up with him," he said and Astrid nodded.

"No worries," she said, then turned around and ran back into the building, looking for Lars, leaving Hiccup behind as the happiest man in Berk...

--------------------

Idk what this is lol.
But I have some things to say again :'')

1. It kinda seems like Astrid already had about one million boyfriends in this one shot, but she didn't. Lars actually was her first one and she just made a mistake by becoming his girlfriend.

2. The title and actually the plot of this chapter was inspired by a song of Galantis, called Love On Me. I just love the song and I thought that y
I could write a one shot that is based on it.

Well, that's it, see ya :')
(And I know it's kinda short this time rip, and my English sucks!)
