Awkward
Astrid Hofferson was standing in front of her mirror, getting ready for a dinner with her family. She was currently nineteen years old, and just started her first year at Berk University, along with her boyfriend, Hiccup Haddock.
She and Hiccup were a couple since about four years now, and they just moved in together. They were going to the same University, while Hiccup was learning to become an engineer, the blonde was focused on becoming a teacher. A sports teacher, to be exact.
She had the idea of becoming a sports teacher when she was back in High School. She and her boyfriend were sixteen and seventeen and both were just about to start their last year of High School.
Hiccup was a good student, he had in almost every subject and A or a B, and he helped his girlfriend to reach the same good marks so they could go to the same University after they graduated.
Well, there was one subject where Hiccup had a D, it was sports. It wasn't like he wasn't fit enough to get an A or a B, he was just way too lazy, and didn't bother about his sports grade.
Astrid on the other hand, loved sports with all her heart since she was a little girl. She always had an A in sports, so she decided to 'tutor' her lazy boyfriend. She talked Hiccup into it and after a few small arguments, he finally agreed.
Turns out that Astrid's tutoring was more like a drill instruction, and she drilled Hiccup until he wasn't able to walk - or talk anymore. She drilled him until he finally had an A in sports as well, and that was when he told her that she would make a perfect fitness instructor.
Astrid, of course, wanted to be more than just a simple instructor, so she chose to become a High School teacher, which would going to be teaching History, English and Sports.
She never thought she'd choose to be a teacher some day, she herself hated her teachers back in High School with all her heart, but she thought that this job would be the perfect one for her.
And so did her boyfriend, "you'll make that kids' school day's hell, M'lady," he stated when she told him that she chose to be a teacher someday.
Back to the present, Astrid had just finished getting dressed and was now looking at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a normal jeans which was slim fit, showing off her curves, and a normal red sweatshirt.
The dinner today was kind of special, it was a dinner with her parents and her boyfriend. Sure, Hiccup had already met Astrid's parents, and they already had a few dinners together, but she was still nervous.
The blonde took a glance at her phone, checking the time. She sighed, "Hiccup, we have to leave soon!" She called out while unplugging her phone from the charger.
Astrid could hear some noise as her boyfriend entered their bedroom. The blonde turned around and saw the twenty-year-old standing in front of her, dressed in a white T-Shirt, a black sweat jacket and a normal jeans. He was wearing white Nike Air Force and was smiling at her.
"You look stunning," he complimented, making Astrid blush. The auburn haired man noticed that and chuckled, moving to wrap an arm comfortably around his girlfriend's waist.
"Don't do that in front of my parents," She warned him, Hiccup looked at her with a puzzled look, "I just don't want them to see me blush like a tiny girl," Astrid stated crossing her arms.
Hiccup flashed her an amused smile, "we'll see," he replied with a slightly teasing voice. Astrid glared at him.
They then hopped into their car and started driving to the Hofferson Household. They arrived after about ten minutes. Hiccup pulled the car to a halt and got rid of his seat belt. Astrid did the same and they sat in the car for a few seconds.
"So," Astrid started, her boyfriend turned his gaze to her, "try not to embarrass us, babe."
Hiccup snorted, "how am I supposed to do that?" He asked her and pouted a little bit.
Astrid glared at him, "remember last time?"
"Yeah but-"
"No buts Hiccup, that was really embarrassing," Astrid stated.
Hiccup slightly poked her arm, "but it was funny," he said, Astrid glared at him. Hiccup just laughed, "come on Hofferson, that really WAS funny!"
Last time they were invited to a dinner by Astrid's family, Hiccup accidentally stepped on the tail of Astrid's dog, Stormfly - who was still living with her parents - and the dog went on some kind of rampage and ran over Astrid's mother.
Ingrid had a medium concussion after the incident and the dinner was cancelled. Astrid still remembered the death glare her father gave Hiccup afterwards.
"It wasn't funny," the blonde retorted, she wasn't able to hide her grin though.
Hiccup smiled triumphantly, "do I see that cute grin of yours?" He teased her, Astrid instantly punched his shoulder while she was blushing again. "Ow?!"
"I told you not to do that, mutton head!" She scolded.
Her boyfriend just laughed, "sorry miss Hofferson."
Astrid turned her head, seeing him smiling playfully at her. The blonde took a very deep breath, "we should head in," she said through slightly gritted teeth.
Hiccup laughed, "as you wish, M'lady."
He then got up, walked around the car, and opened Astrid's door, holding out a hand for her to take. Astrid accepted his hand gratefully and laced her fingers with his. She then gave him a quick kiss on the lips, "thanks, babe."
Hiccup looked a little bit disappointed, "I hope I get more lip action when we're done here," he said and pouted, while they were walking towards the front door.
"Oh jeez, if you behave well, you might get more than just lip action," Astrid stated and Hiccup's face lit with a brilliant smile, "but ONLY if you behave well," the blonde remarked.
"Sure thing, M'lady."
Astrid then rang the doorbell, her hand still holding Hiccup's. After a few seconds, Astrid's father opened the door. Astrid let go of Hiccup's hand, "hey dad," she greeted.
Mr Hofferson hugged his daughter, "hey Astrid," he greeted back. Hiccup just stood next to them, kind of awkward. After Astrid and her ffather were done, the blonde made her way inside to greet her mother, while Hiccup was still standing in front of the door, Astrid's father staring at him with his arms crossed.
Hiccup respected Astrid's father very much. Sven Hofferson was a huge man, almost as huge as his own father. "Uh, hello, Mr Hoffeson," the auburn haired young man greeted awkardly, while holding out his left hand.
Astrid's dad just chuckled, took his hand and pulled him into a huge hug, "hello, Hiccup," he greeted back. Hiccup relaxed a little bit and hugged back. They pulled away just a few seconds later. "Good to see you again, son," Sven said and led Hiccup inside the living room, where Astrid and her mother had just finished greeting and hugging each other.
As Ingrid saw Hiccup, she smiled widely and walked quickly towards him, pulling him into a tight hug. Astrid was standing behind them and she could see Hiccup's confused face.
Hiccup hugged Ingrid back nonetheless and they pulled apart about five seconds later.
"Good to see you, Hiccup," Ingrid said, still smiling. Hiccup was so confused he couldn't really form a sentence.
"G-good to see you too, Mrs Hofferson," he replied and smiled awkwardly. Sure, he had met Astrid's parents a few times now, but he has always been an awkward boy, and that wouldn't change any time soon.
They then sat down at the big table in the dining room, talking about their lives. Hiccup and Astrid told Astrid's parents about their University life and the Hofferson's told them about what was going on in their world. Even Stormfly joined the four when dinner was served.
While eating, they had a happy conversation with each other, until Astrid said something, that was the start of a whole evening of pure awkwardness.
"Daddy, can you get me some water?"
Once she asked that, Sven rose from his seat. But he was not the only one.
Hiccup stood up too....
"I can't believe you did THAT!" Astrid exclaimed as they were back in the car.
The rest of the evening was VERY awkward for everyone, especially Hiccup and Astrid. Astrid's parents probably figured out themselves that their daughter and Hiccup already did a few things in a four year relationship, but it still was embarrassing.
"You could have just said 'dad' instead of 'daddy'," Hiccup retorted as he started the car.
"Wha- are you kidding me?!" She said throwing her hands in the air, "come on Hiccup, I would never call you daddy in front of my PARENTS!"
Hiccup shrugged and kept his eyes on the road, "then next time, call me mommy," Hiccup joked.
"Oh my..." Astrid felt the anger bubbling inside her, she was like a volcano that was about to explode.
The blonde was ignoring her boyfriend for the rest of the drive. Once they arrived at their apartment, she hopped out of the car opened the door, entered their apartment and slammed the door closed.
A few seconds later, the door opened and her boyfriend entered their apartment. Astrid was sitting on the couch, angrier as ever. Hiccup whistled innocently and took off his jacket, only wearing his white T-Shirt and jeans now.He then walked towards the couch, sitting down next to his girlfriend.
He placed his hands in his lap and looked at the TV, which was turned off. He could only see their reflections in it, seeing Astrid still angry, he tried to cheer her up.
"But you gotta admit, it was funny," he tried but Astrid's expression did not change at all.
Hiccup shifted his position, now sitting very close to his girlfriend. He leaned his chin on his hand and started to fiddle with her hair. "Aw come on," he pouted, "don't be like that," he said leaning his head a little bit.
Astrid still didn't respond. Hiccup shrugged, "okay, I actually didn't want to do this, but you don't leave me much of a choice, M'lady."
With that he grabbed her thighs and gently pushed her down, Astrid squealed a little bit when he did that. Hiccup was no hovering above her, his arms placed on either side of her head. "Are we going to talk now?"
Astrid still didn't respond, and just crossed her arms.
"Gee, woman, you're not making it easy," Hiccup said, he the started kissing her cheeks and neck, "come on, let me be your daddy one more time......"

AH WHAT IS THAT HAHAHA
I have no idea where that came from but I know that the daddy story really happened. I read it lmfao. So, yeah I made a Hiccstrid One-Shot out of it. Even tho it kind of sucks - because writing isn't really what I'm good at - I kind of enjoyed writing it.
Season 5 of Race To The Edge was amazing by the way. I didn't get any of the things I wanted to but still, it was amazing. All the Hiccstrid and action and yEaH.
I'm also really hyped for pinksky's new book, the military AU wOhOo
